That color and 2 tone interior looks just😁 keen!
Love the 289 HIPO. I never owned one but had two pals that did... those little 289s were STOUT.
Anyone out there that has NEVER driving a supped up 289 engine or the HiPo 65-66 mustang do yourself a favor. Go find one and take it for a spin! These cars are SO light ( 2600-2800 pounds ) and that 289 is so QUICK to rev it really makes you say "How?" as in how can it be this quick! These cars can do 0-60 in 5 seconds! They did this IN 1965! Think about this When tested, the 1969 Camaro RS Z28 recorded a competitive 0-60 time of 7.4 seconds and that was thought to be quick. These early Mustangs were unique and something special.
They were fast. I raced a 289 one year back in 70.It WAS quick.
I have 67 289 project. Engine is rebuilt with a mild cam, headers.and intake. I never drove it yet it's getting the maintenance updated on it. The guy started it up before I bought it and it sounded a like a hot rod🤣🙈🔥🔥🔥🔥I'm definitely excited about it. He also had a 72 nova with a 383 stroker from the same shop the built the 289 in the mustang I bought. Very good shop in town.
Very nice vedio , i have one question , did i miss seeing inside the trunk , or did he not show it ?
I had one that was this exact car minus the 289 HiPo but I built one for it, using all of the important parts such as a windage tray, chrome molybdenum oil pump driveshaft, forged flat top pistons, crower camshaft, dual point distributor, headers & the same aluminum intake manifold. The cylinder heads were rough pointed and screw-in rocker studs were installed. Weighing in at about 3100 pounds, it could hold its own with many 327 Chevys. It was backed by a C4 transmission and 3.50 gears.
Had a 65 coupe 289 650 double pumper solid lift cam headers 4-speed and 4,63 rear gears. Extremely quick, barely had time to shift.
Excellent paint color on the best looking street car ever, the 66' 2+2 Mustang. Congrats; it truly is a beautiful car.
I won't lie. That thing is so gorgeous, it brought a tear to my eye!😂🤣
Man, this video brought back my ´65 Fastback, had the headers (DOUG). aluminum high-rise, dual-point, 4-Sp, HURST shifter, man ó man!!!
I love see classic cars in uncommon colors.
Man! What a sweet little HIPO. Thanks 😊
That is beautiful in that color. I have never seen one painted like that.
i have a few very specific Mustangs that are on my bucket list...managed to get one already, but this is def another. A hipo fastback in emberglow is as awesome as it gets. the new owner will be a happy man
Ill have a k code someday 👍👍...what a monster
Fantastic, as usual. I can't imagine why the previous owner would want to sell it, it's like cutting off your own arm or leg. Enjoyed a lot the driving section... And I spotted that sweet GT on the garage.
Nice Stang, and fun test drive my wife would never let me drive that fast on the highway.
MY MAN!! She's beautiful and sounds good!! Super jealous right now 😂😂
Too nice to drive. It’s a trailer Queen. And there’s NOTHING WRONG WITH THAT !!!
Basically there is Something Wrong With That . Cars were made to be driven. Regardless trailers are for boats . I drive my classics everywhere ( Hot Rod Power Tour ) . I wouldn’t want a car I can’t drive.
@@ricardofierro7041 yes, you are correct. But, I beg to disagree. I remember an episode of Gas Monkey where their car was wrecked by an illegal alien with no license or insurance. Far too common these days…
My fitst new car was a 66 K code 4 speed 2+2. Befour i drove it off the lot Sunny Monaco the owner of Monaco Ford in Glastonbury CT said if you ever want to sell this car come an see me first. When i joined the navy i went to the dealership an he bought it back from me.Even then henew they were the fasted Mustangs. They only made about 5000 of them.
Gorgeous national treasure!
I can not believe ford let this car out the door without the rally pack gauges.
Im hip. I guess you could restomod them in.
boy that's a nice color!
Love love love this car!
Friend of mine had a 66 FASTBACK MUSTANG 🐎 HIPO THING WAS fast PONY but I don't see many MUSTANGS WIT PONY INTERIOR ANYMORE USED TO BACK IN DAY NICE COLOR SWEET O YA MAN
Are the OEM exhaust manifolds and intake available with the car?
Love it, what size tires are on it?
Very Niiice..! Maybe add a link to some engine and undercarriage shots?
yeah this one is 🔥... So gorgeous in red.l😍ve it
Identical twin to my HIPO bought new Friday, 5/13/66.
Biggest pos/lemon.
In the shop 13 times in 10 weeks. Ford didnt fix it and told me FO.
Traded for a new loaded big block Charger. 😁😁
Did the oil pressure ever come up ?
Wish it was a GT model
Until your comment, I never knew the details about how to tell a real GT or not.
I ❤ the Color
That is one nice car.
Thank you very much.
If I bought it, the first thing I would do is find all the original OEM parts, and take the after market bullshit off of it. I like original classic cars.
The 271 horse HiPo had solid lifters and was very noisy. This cannot be that engine. 🤔
The solid lifters were only on the Shelbys gt350 though, right ??..
Super rare to have the build sheet
That is not a stock cam...the stock K code cam is the same profile as the A and C code cars, only solid lifter...it does not lope like that.
My drool glands are red-lining.
How much?
Asking $75,000 negotiable. Call 304-228-4732
$75.000 ASKING PRICE..?.. THAT'S TOO HIGH..$60.000 IS MORE REASONABLE PRICE..
@@kameronmeyers3612 it sold for asking price. You better update yourself on the current market.
@@AmericanMustangs Right sir! The values on these Mustangs have sky Rocketed for sure. My 67 S-code is now worth $36,000 and it is is good shape but not like this 66 K- you are showing.
this aint no secretaries car.
Right!!or teacher like my wife V-6 New Edge,that’s a Attorney’s car/Dr/Mafia
How much today in dollars? Im in the uk and adore these old mustangs❤
Interior door finish should be textured, not smooth. Exhaust should exit behind valance, incorrect steering wheel plus shifter.
It’s a little bit too nice
STOP SLAMMING THE FKN DOORS
🤣As a teen my dad was always slamming my car doors. I think he was taking it out on me. 🙂
...a 10 dollar fix for the squeaky clutch - c'mon man. Simples....
It was fixed. Spring just needed some grease. Car is sold and buyer loves it.
Disc brakes were not an option in '66...JS
Lol yes they were. Do you’re homework. They were even available in 65.
Yes they were! The 66 Gt's had them.
Dude. You're breathing really heavy for a walkaround. Better get checked.
This really don't look like a REAL 289 HIPO GT BADGE AND FOG LIGHTS IN THE GRILL ALWAYS ON THE GT HIPO MODEL IT NOT CORRECT IN MY BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE GET IT RIGHT 😮,💋
