Same boat mostly - I can understand a bit but I'm relying 90% on the subtitles - and I agree. I like how he went into a lot of little details and quirks about the car, I feel like a got a bit of the experience of what it would be like to daily an RX-7 (and a better understanding of why it's so legendary and beloved).

I hope they keep making these video series. I hate how people are complaining about subtitles, it's kind of crazy. Like you never watched a show or movie in a different language. I appreciate the hard work they did to put this together.

Jesus Robles I have no issue with it just upload it on a different channel, and when I watch videos I’m normally doing other things like homework or working on projects for my job. I just listen have the Time and not watch
I've never watched a show or movie in a different language. Why would I? So many enjoyable media in my own language that I can enjoy both the visuals and the dialog at the same time.

I watch anime in sub to hear the voices as the creator intended, I'll watch a whole movie in Korean just because I was told it's a good movie because it is. Just because it's not in English doesn't make it bad or difficult to watch in anyway. It's your mindset that you need it your way. Maybe not you specifically but there's people out there like that.

Unpopular opinion: the Spanish makes this more fun to watch.
I hear so many car reviews in English and they're always the same... "THIS is a XXXX year and today we're gonna drive it, look inside..." Hearing it on Spanish it's just different and a real fun change of pace. Not to mention, I haven't seen any other Spanish car reviews of this quality.
I hope this series doesn't die, at worst move it to another channel but please keep it!

If you want spanish great car reviews, check Powerart channel. They're quite good and also very interesting. They have a section called "Usado pero interesante" similar to "Prestado" but older. You have to really know spanish, because they don't use english terms at all.

Everybody fails to realize that Spanish is THE SECOND MOST spoken language in the world behind Chinese (for obvious reasons) and that it makes toooons of sense from a business/online content creator's perspective to appeal to more than one language-based demographic. Plus it's not like we didn't already get an Up To Speed video on the rx-7. If you like Donut Media you should support their decisions that will further their success. Just sayin'

Think about the MILLIONS of native speakers that want to be entertained on the internet AND how many of them feel excluded on an English dominated platform. Just in America there are 57.5 million hispanics (as of 2016) That's over 15% of the population JUST in the U.S. I don't have figures for the Worldwide hispanic population but just imagine how many native speakers can't find or enjoy content they like, in this case cars. Just let Hispanics have ONE series from a content creator that uploads all the time. Not to mention, UA-cam algorithms benefit creators that appeal to multiple demographics. This has been demonstrated by Pewdiepie being a transnational youtuber (having lived in multiple countries and creating fanbases in multiple language groups) Anomaly, Paul Taylor, and now Donut. Having a multilingual channel creates a bigger channel, thus giving them more authority from youtube, thus giving them more views/promotion/ratings.

There are more English speaking people of you count second languages. Also English is a very important language to know. Spanish is not.
@@alexstromberg7696 seems kinda ignorant to me to assume Spanish isn't an important language to know. Knowing spanish helped me get a job I was less qualified for compared to other applicants. But I suppose the "superiority" of English is more important to everyone than letting Hispanics have content to enjoy outside of Telemundo. Besides this is more than a language debate. This is about people complaining that a channel has content in more than one language. If that doesn't scream "I'm scared of things I don't understand" I don't know what does.

I debated and debated with this guy on the first video they put up in Spanish and he kept saying the same thing. Don't argue with him, he's a troll. He just makes a whole bunch of null, baseless points and when you point out some facts, he just says Spanish is a worthless language.

If it was only in English
Back in 2006 I bought a 93 RX-7 base model for cheap ,salvage title, with the promise that it ran. I went to check it out a hundred miles from my house and sure enough it ran and actually looked solid despite the status of the title. It took me 6 months to get the money together, friend to friend transaction so there was no worry of it being sold out from under me. When I finally arrived with the cash the car had received a big single turbo conversion, odd but not a deal breaker for me, I just wanted an FD. It wouldn’t start because the battery was dead so I pushed it onto my trailer and brought it home. The night I got home we put a new battery in it and after a lot of effort got it started and everything seemed copacetic. Two weeks later after having relocated and rewired the battery to the trunk I got it running. I set off on my first drive with my dream car, ecstatic. One block into my dream ride something is wrong, the car just isn’t building boost until 5500 rpm and when it did it hit like freight train for a second and then ran out of RPM. No biggie, that is until I looked in the rear view mirror on boost and saw the biggest white cloud I’ve ever seen. Shit, blown coolant seal. Out of my rotaries white cloud of death came a sheriffs cruiser with his lights and sirens furiously protesting my rotary adventure. I pull over three houses from my own, the cop saunters over and yells “what the hell are you doing?!” It’s at this moment I remember my wallets in the house and there’s no plates on the car, I’m ghost white, I explain it all to the officer, he looks at me looks at the white cloud of rotary suicide behind me and finally says “ go home, you’re lucky this car is beautiful and I want to see you fix it. If I see you driving it again like this though I’m going to impound it. I gratefully take it home and park it, not giving it a second thought because I’m just happy to have made it home unscathed. Three months later I finally get around to working on it a little now though she won’t start again, the battery is fine, just crank and crank. I feel dejected, I’m out of money, I list the car for sale and she gets bought and removed from my driveway two weeks later.
Moral of the story is FD’s will crush your dreams, but damn you’ll look good in it when they do.

As a car enthusiast, mexican, and with immigrant parents, I think this series would be amazing to show to my dad since he loves cars. So I don’t know why you guys are complaining about this series. Thats why theres subtitles at the bottom. Its pretty much the spanish Up to Speed.

Na, I just hate it because these guys are about as colorful as a desert rock. Compared to the English-speaking cast they have no character.
If I want to read subtitles, I'll go watch anime. This is a channel where we've come to expect videos in English. They should put these on a separate channel and then promote that instead of jamming these videos we don't want down our throats.
These guys do a great job and put a lot of effort in the show, and I think the most people love the show. But the subtitles is just a big drawback.

If style alone, it varies per personal preference. I personally like a huge wing on it but mostly because I'd want to take it to the track. No-wing definitely looks smooth af too. Having or not having a wing other than style would have a difference more on track or dragstrip.

I actually really like this show. I'd like to see just a note in the beginning to turn on English captions if needed (I much prefer UA-cam's captions) but I hope you keep putting these out despite the dislikes. Prestado feels sorta halfway between Up to Speed and One Takes and I like it

It is true that the comment section seems to just be hate comments, but there is a pretty good reason why. Obviously the production of the video is well done and intent is good. The thing is most of people watching videos are not native English speaker, but mostly have studied English and use it daily. On the other hand there are far less Spanish people watching this. And it is weird like to shift between languages on the same channel. For example if they would start to post gaming videos here, fewer people with turn in because the core audience would feel like the channel is unsure who they are targeting at. Same story would be if h3h3 would do their podcast in Hebrew and post it on their main channel, it would not make sense

You’re just butthurt that they don’t like or agree with our language. You took it how you want. Nothing racist unless you provoke them to make them say that. Otherwise all I saw was it’s sound unappealing in Spanish when describing los carros pero I don’t blame them on that since it’s so bland. Another thing is it’s an eye sore and they end up rewinding the video a bit to read and SEE the vehicle. They just came here for the video, we all did but we like to learn too. Sure I’ll be honest they can read it but this series was kinda showed in our faces and that’s why they don’t liked it at the beginning. You would be surprised how fast the Latin segment will blow up. It took salomondrin years to hit a million subs... His Spanish channel was less than 2 months!!! But you can't just launch a Spanish channel you have to mix at first so people know it exists

@@negativeindustrial The point of this show is to review this car in a Top Gear "whats it like to drive" way. Something that could easily be done in English or put on a second channel called "Donut Espanol" or whatever. Up to speed is not an apples to apples comparison, dude. This is more like a "New Car Show" or "Miracle Whips" gig, which brings up another problem, these guys have nowhere near the charisma that James and Byron have.
Rx-7’s are old legends and will forever and always will be differently loved than all other cars.

martin alejandro there’s something called making another Channel to expand the variety of audiences and makes more money compare than one channel (only if they have near the same subs but overall they’re both making money)
