Also being overly sensitive to noises is also a symptom of Addison's . before diagnoses I could hear dogs barking from over half mile away ,garbage trucks motorcycles, loud cars ,leaf blowers and jet ski's trigger an anger response. Dr.s know nothing about this, I had to get a medical librarian to find the studies for me. They were done in the 1960's. It has to do with the ear having a lot of potassium receptors.

As a Hypopituitarism + Unspecified adrenocortical insufficiency patient (Hydro and Fludro meds) for 20+ years, the feedback I offer is to take the time or have a staff member take the time to provide a handout with links to patient support sites. There is a huge amount a patient has to learn to successfully manage their condition. I have a good partnership with my Endocrinologist, but I am by far the expert when it comes to really knowing and living with this condition day to day. If you haven't lived it, you don't really get it because you can't be the observer and the observed at the same time.

As a person who has had hypothyroidism and Addison's Disease for nearly 30 yrs. You Guys are silly. ( I also have pernicious Anemia). The things you leave out are the low blood sugar that can happen with both undiagnosed and diagnosed Addison's. Also knowing the difference between the symptoms of Adrenal Crisis in diagnosed and undiagnosed Addison's would be essential for emergency room physicians. Too often I have gone to emergency room feeling very unwell and Dr. are still trying to diagnose some disease like bladder infection ,strep throat ,flue and giving me pain and nausea meds when all I really need is an I.V of hydrocortisone and all those other symptoms disappear rather quickly after that. No matter what is wrong with me I display the symptoms of low cortisol not the symptoms of the malady . It is serious you should go to the Addison's self help groups and read stories of how quick diagnosed people with Addison's can die.

Question. My friend just got out of hospital from adrenal crisis… when I look at her she presents totally like a Cushing’s patient, even her endo was surprised from test results… why would that be? Is this common?
