The Eurofighter might not be the prettiest, but it is massively underrated
The Typhoon is probably the perfect Jet. It‘s cheaper than other modern jets, it is very agile, it can be used for everything and everywhere. The strength is the flexibility, it‘s like the Leopard 2, good in everything but never the best.

I saw my first F-15 in the mid to late 70's at an air show in Dayton. It's amazing the F-15 had been the USA's primary air superiority fighter for 3 decades.

@@bestamerica I really don’t think that they have released actual top speed figures for either of them.
Also top speed is not really the best way to compare any two jets. I still would believe that if a -15 and a -22 were both fully trimmed for war, the -22 would out speed the -15. The -22 can do mach 1.5 (or more) without even using the afterburner. The 15 is fast it just can’t beat the -22.

It still remains the combination of good pilot and good aircraft. Not one over the other.
The lead Russian designer of the S-300,400,and 500 SAMs said the 22s and 35s, can defeat the missiles, but it depends on how good the American pilots are. It always boils down to personnel and training.

The F15 not included? Seeing as how it has never been shot down in a dogfight with over 100 kills this seems ludicrous. My favorite will always be the F14, such a beautiful plane
Personally I think these countdown videos make these obvious mistakes on purpose so as to promote discussion.
So yes, the F15 well proven jet is missing, but the Chinese jet, never seen combat gets into the top 10 rankings lol. And we know the Chinese are always truthful when listing capability stats lol.

@Witcher King let's see here the F15 is 50 years old while the SuckHoi os barely 10. The fact that you would even mention the two in the same sentence is telling and im sure the original F15 would be at a disadvantage against the much newer Russian plane. However the Eagle has been continuously upgraded and the newest editions would hold their own against any and all comers.

Fith generation Chagndu J-20 definitely makes a serious case against the F-22 raptor for me
Not at all, the only thing that makes us think it is Chinease propaganda, but they give no information about their jets and we can doubt about Chinease's knowledge in aeronautics. I don't think they will sell their jet to other country so we are not going to have reliable informations about their jet in the next decades.

The F15 is fairly obsolete by comparison with the very best.
Typhoon, Gripen and Rafale would all easily beat it, since they have Meteor missiles which outclass any missile mounted by the F15 (or any of the remaining jets on the list). With Iris-T for short/medium range combat and close in defence against incoming missiles, these 3 are deadly.
Only the F22 and possibly the F35 would be able to handle these 3, as the SU57 and J20 are far from being genuinely stealthy.

The Sukhoi SU-30SM deserves the 4th place competitor the F-15E Strike Eagle and even the F-22 Raptor.
I think the su-35s is the best plan I've ever seen in flight. It has a Grace that can't be explained.

With the avionics, electronics and 65,000 lb of thrust on the F-15, it's superior to a lot of this list.

Edit: So people know what I'm talking about with the SE and EX variants of the F15, think of them like 4.5 generation fighters bridging the gaps between 4th and 5th generation fighters, they're both exceptional aircraft but neither has seen air to air combat. SE being the Silent Eagle is a semi-stealth variant that I belive Isreal uses while the EX is the Airforces new model of F15 which has substantial upgrades to the air frame allowing it to preform a wider array of roles, fly faster and carry more missiles as well as linking up to an F22 or F35 and using their radars to track targets allowing the EX to be a missile truck for the stealthier planes- but it can still function as an independent fighter and fight just as well as if not better than the C and E variants.
We all know that the p-996 lazer and mammoth hydras are the best jets with no competitors

That's what I was thinking. As a neighbor to Seymour Johnson AFB I guess I'm a little biased when it comes to the F-15 but there's also good reasons to be. Have and always will be my favorite jets.

F16 is still the king of the 2 circle rate fight...so i would have left it at number nine...both super hornet and f15 good at 1 circle which is the way most of the modern super manuverablity jets like to fight...so i think either the hornet or the eagle could have taken the super hornets spot....15 faster, higher thrust ratio, and history ...hornet carrier based, multi role...

The F15 Strike Eagles the most experience in real combat dogfights with a record of 104-0 kills and the fastest of them all with the speed of 3,018 km/ hour, Mach 2.44. Your No.1, 2 & 3 don't even have real dogfight experience how could you say they are the best.?

@@craig4867 I know. It was a money thing. Theres no way on earth an F-15EX is as good as an F-22. I think F-15 should be 2 on the list. Theyre not stealthy and cant supercruise. There are only a few F-22 pilots.
@@craig4867 I've seen the F-23. I think F-22 looks better but both probably wouldve been good. F-22 is expensive to maintain and getting a huge amount of F-15Ex's may sound like a good idea. Also Russia is f'd up and arent building any SU-57s so China and it's fleet of J-20s are the only real competition out there. Japan and Great Britain just signed a deal to develop a 6 Gen fighter and I'm sure the US has something in development. But the F-22 is still the better plane. There are few F-22 pilots. Wouldnt it be fun to learn to fly one of those Marine Corps F-35s VSTOLs?

There's only 1 Su-57. It's radar footprint is huge- anything other than Gen5 invisibility. Nope. It would disappear BVR before it ever knew an F-35 or F-22 was in the theater.

I wouldn’t agree, there has been multiple accidents with the SU57, one time it randomly entered an uncontrolled spin, another time it blew up on the ground. And it’s radar isn’t functional.

The commander of the U.S. Pacific Theater once expressed this meaning euphemistically. Because in the past few years, there have been many confrontations between F35 and J-20 in the East China Sea, and F35 has always been at a disadvantage.
Timing is a little off but next one should include KF21 from Korea. They just finished couple of test flights so far, and it uses same double engine from FA18 Superhornet...

Since this list omits the F-15 it proves the video creators have no clue what they are talking about. The list contains the F-16, but the F-16 has never been the USA's #1 air to air fighter. It never took the crown away from the F-15. The F-15 is so good the USAF is going to fly it for another 20 years.

That does not make it best, it’s only show that they never fought against the same era fighters, to shoot down a Syrian Mig that lack radar, radar warning and trained pilot is not a proof of quality.
Go up against a peer opponent and the end readily would be different.

The Typhoon and the Rafale looks extremely similar to me, but maybe it's just me. The F-14 and F/A 18( and even the United States Air Force's F-15 & F-16) because they are, in my opinion, the true essence of what a Fighter Jet should look like, but the Sukhoi SU-35 is an extremely good look jet. I will say the Sukhoi Su-57 is a good looking jet and in my opinion, the F-22 is by far a better looking fighter than the F-35. Not saying it's a better fighter than the F-35, just looks more like a fighter should look.
It is normal that the Rafale and the Typhoon are similar, they both come from a military project grouping France, Germany, United Kindom, Spain and Italy which targeted to build a delta wing twin-engine omnirole fighter. But because of a disagreement of the French company Dassault aviation which wanted to not share its knowledge to other companies, France retired of the project and decided to build its own jet. So Germany, United Kingdom, Spain and Italy built the Eurofighter Typhoon and France built the Dassault Rafale. At the end, the Rafale was better than the Typhoon and was even upgraded into stealth technology making him a 4.5 generation fighter. But I don't understand why this rating placed him in 7th place, you just need to make some research to know that a Su 35 is is'nt as good as a Rafale simply just because of the Rafale's stealth. Also in front of a Super Hornet, the Rafale is more maneuverable and betters from several factors like the engineering. I don't think the J 20 should be in this rating, we don't have enough information about this aircraft, praticaly the same for the Su 57, enven if I think that this one is a pretty good 5th gen fighter. The F 35 has loads of technical issues and still hasn't reached its goal in terms of almost everything making it as good as the Rafale if not worse than it. I have nothing to say about the F22 it is on top and by far.

It's obvious that F22 is grossly outdated in terms of overall capabilities & technologies. It should be rank 3rd. American having a very short civilization is growing powerful very fast for the last 100 years but it will wither as fast as it grow. From its short history, we could derive that this country is the most sickening and cruel country governed by the rich capitalists. It is like a tree growing too big & tall with shallow roots which fall easily when the strong winds come.

@@tinashevictorsibanda2675 Not even close as a stealth plane. It has the worse radar cross section of all current 5th generation planes. Its cross section is that of a sheet of plywood. Even the J-20 has a smaller cross section (the size of a door). Compare that to the F-22 and F-35 which have cross sections of insects. I would personally rate it as a 4.5 generation aircraft. It began development in the 1980s. A strong platform but pales next to the J-20 or the F-22.
