I am autistic, and usually i get sensory overload from too much strange sounds in nature, people talking, but its funny how I can enjoy metalcore music without any issues, in fact it helps me cope and deal with society and calms me down when I'm anxious.
I always did in high school and now it’s pretty neat seeing Camryn use it as well. My wife jokes with us but it is true how it can be calming as well.
metal has proven to make you calmer, but yes i can totally see where you are coming from. Everything from stoner metal to atmospheric black metal just puts me at ease.
Yep I have Aspergers as well, but I've always been more into Nu-metal, but have recently steered more into metalcore as well (depending upon the artist of course).

I'm so happy to see Spiritbox getting love, I'm going to go see them live this Saturday, the 26th. I'm so excited. My girlfriend doesn't even listen to metal really and I got her into Spiritbox and now she blasts it around the house and in the car all the time on her own, I'm so proud. They seem like they always open with Sun Killer, one of my favorite tracks. They're playing with Under oath, and under oath is a sick band but I'm honestly just there to see Spiritbox lol, I wish they were heading their own tour so the set would be longer. I wanna hear Electric Cross and Perennial live.

Dude Yellowjacket has probably my second favorite breakdown of 2021, I can never not headbang to it. Also if you haven’t heard it yet, you NEEEED to check out “Melting Amber” by Above, Below. It’s a prog metal masterpiece and the best song of 2021 imo

Since people have told you to react to Lorna Shore, you have to check out Worm Shepherd. They're similar to Lorna Shore and are extremely underrated. Check out their songs 'The River Ov Knives' and 'Ov Sword and Nail' for ominous-sounding, "melt your face" breakdowns. I'm telling you, you won't regret it.
Being a metal head for 5 years made me immune to brutality. The only that made me hedbang is lorna shore and mental cruelty.

My son and I are a xennial and gen z also. I’ve slowly been getting him into heavy music. I’m hoping he’ll be my buddy to go to live shows with when he’s older. 😆 So far he likes Bad Omens and Sleep Token.
So awesome! I have been pretty amazed that this has become our thing and honestly never thought any of my kids would join me… but here we are! We started slow but man have they jumped into the deep end quickly 🤣
Bad Omens is a great starting band. I saw them live with Ice Nine Kills in November and they are really great performers. They are very BMTHish
