I think I needed to see this. "I don't have time for people who don't have time for me. I don't have interest in people who aren't interested in me." It seems really simple, but there is a real truth there, and one I need to learn. Thank you, Amy. Stay awesome!
I am 41 years old mom and I enjoy watching your videos and share them with my young adult girls! You are so funny, but so on TARGET on everything you say!!! 😆👊🏻
"Liam Neeson on his ass" LOL, nice one! The no response should be a huge red flag for anyone... It's hard when you don't know why, and not getting any closure does drive me nuts... It happens, and sucks but at least you know where you stand with this person.. You're not a priority in their life, and that is all you need to know... Time to move on!
I know this comment is posted yeaaaars ago but I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!! this video also popped in my feed while i was contemplating whether to message him AGAIN.
What sucks is if you've never watched this video and taken Amy's advice on "No response is a response.", then you ask others what it was that YOU did wrong, and they can't help themselves to draw up the same responses I've heard whilst dealing with no response: "Maybe it was something that you did." Driving ourselves crazy thinking about it. Unless if I knowingly acted like a b**ch to this person that I'm attracted to, I'm pretty sure that I'm not to blame for no response. Now, with watching these videos, I know that I shouldn't blame myself for a guy's lack of response. Thanks for these videos Amy! They've helped me more than any one else's advice on dating 😊😁
The beginning of some of your videos crack me the hell up, that's why I started following you. Now on this topic, as a fellow man, who's heard other mofos talk about the same and why they (my gender) have the tendency to do that is: 1.Girl's too clingy. 2.Girl REALLY has the potential to be clingy. 3.Girl May or may not have potential to be clingy, but stop convo just in case. 4.Showing who's boss. 5. Girl's too much trouble, daily communication is just too much effort and implies commitment. 6.She smells but don't want to be the first one to tell her. 8. Eh fuck it!. 7 Plain old assholery. 8 Dropped phone in toilet while doing #2 and don't want to communicate in case you ask how it happened. Again, this is what has been disclosed to me from fellow men throughout the years.
I have been watching ur videos for long time and i really like ur methods. Thanks Amy..... Have been in this phase "No response is the response that you should respect urself and walk away until she/He chase you and says I m sorry. Then say "I m sorry you has ur chance and you sucked at it" and then walk away again...Or Just give her/him a chance again but don't expect anything in return...
So true Amy! Also, girls just remember: if you would want to be in touch, you'd be in touch (considering the guy is interested and you're not). Life is too short for people who won't recognize how AWESOME you are! xx
You really have to let it sink in. Someone who ghosts/ignores you like that doesn't even want to know you anymore! No contact at all. Doesn't care if you're alive and well. Doesn't care how his actions make you feel. It doesn't get less interested than that. Even a friendly neighbour who just greets you from time to time cares more about you at this point. Sad but true.
ok, so say you're actually in a relationship with the person, and its hard to get a text from him? when we're together, he seems so into it, but when we're not, we literally rarely talk.
Thank you for this, Amy! You always have very sensible yet fun learning videos, I loove it! I guess that is just it, "No response is your response." We just have to learn to let go and avoid having to do "looping" in our heads. Thanks again!
This is so true. U couldn't have said better. Guy will find a way to call u if he wants to regardless of what happened with his phone. He just not into u!
great advise Amy!!!! you really are inspiring, and I love your mood and all the things you say. When I feel sad or depressed I always watch your videos, makes me feel better. I even write down some of the wise things you say in my diary :D . I already know those and these things, but when somebody else says it, they sound much more real and I just realize that I have a problem, Telling them to myself in my brain, not saying them out loud isn't really helping, so I'll be doing the mirror sessions :D and even point my finger at myself!! :D Greeting from the Czech republic! xo
this is crazy. lol and yes we did watch parks and recreation together and yes, i saw that Liam Neeson movie with him, and yes he's unresponsive! LOL and yeah the couch to! damn
Is it impossible that he actually did lose his phone or it died or he was in a meeting or having an intimate conversation with a friend in distress? No one likes to see their friend or colleague with their phone out when they are trying to talk to them. I feel like dropping them might be overreacting, but if they've been ignoring you for days, then I guess it's not okay and I'm sorry if that's what you meant.
I asked once and he gave me the answer, overly nice dude that he was (confusing)...he said, "I need to be with someone more stable" & " I sensed a little insecurity". Now tell me, would you want to hear this? It was HORRIBLE. Never again. This was his perspective, not mine, but it messed me up a bit.
+The Monkey and The Wolf Dont let a guy put a label on you, every relationship and experience with another person is different! Unless hes a clinical psychologist I wouldnt take his word for anything
I've never been that type, some guys wonder why I'm not calling or texting on why things are not happening. They eventually loose interest, but it's like I can't be thinking of you 24h a day. I have a life as well. It's just complicated...
Ignoring someone, ESPECIALLY if you slept with them, or really if you took any of their time, is like, one of the worst things you can do to another human. And yet, this is a such a big issue in dating. I almost always acknowledge the ghosting, call it out for what it is, and ask calmly and maturely for an explanation. I deserve one, and I would never NOT ask directly for something that I deserve. "I understand that you may not wish to stay in touch, and I want to respect your boundaries. Perhaps you can help me understand what happened?" The whole "he/she's just not that into you" culture that we live in is DESIGNED to let assholes get away with this type of behavior.
That said, I think Amy Young is a FANTASTIC, feminist-friendly coach!! I just have a different, and understandably unpopular opinion on this particular issue.
not just applicatable in girl boy relationships and romances. But sometimes you have to evaluate your friendships and say, there is a lack of interaction, so buhbye!
But all things aside, not getting a response when you like someone hurts like a mofo and makes you feel unwanted and unloved. I don't know how to bounce back from that in a matter of minutes.
Amy, amazing video as always. I have a question about a fairly similar "scenario". My long distance boyfriend of 2 yrs (who usually calls me on holidays) only texted me this Thanksgiving weekend, which kinda felt to me like he dropped off the map. I was really looking forward to connecting over the holiday weekend because we have busy jobs. When he was only reaching out with texts, I tried to give him his space but he never seemed to miss me or desire to hear my voice. Its hard to say "let it go" when you are emotionally involved with somebody for a few years. Any advice/ could you do a video on this?
He was so in to me and we had a great time and then he became unresponsive so I decided to disappear fora couple days and he called me and blame me for not calling him and how I wasn’t worried about him and maybe he was dead he makes me texting and calling again and guess what he became a slow unresponsive again and now I’m ignoring him again Ps this fucking locked down with a lot of available time drives us crazy
Pretty good video..!! Had a great time with a girl and afterwards I would send a text once in awhile and always only get one response then... nothing. I'm assuming this applies for men as well XD
What if the person is your bf that has been super loving all day but hasn't responded for about two hours at the end of the day plus he's never done this before? Safe to say he's asleep or?
Lipstick&Tattoos I guess it depends on the other persons general rate of cellphone use... To me more than 1.5 days are a sure sign they saw it and chose not to respond.
If he's unresponsive, then he's got no vital signs, and it's time to take him off life support.
Truth !!!
I think I needed to see this.
"I don't have time for people who don't have time for me. I don't have interest in people who aren't interested in me."
It seems really simple, but there is a real truth there, and one I need to learn.
Thank you, Amy. Stay awesome!
What's great is that even though she's trying to make it more relateable to girls,
guys should take notes.
UnableToFindName yes, take notes and read between the lines.

Dano smith so right
I JUST FOUND YOUR CHANNEL AND IT'S HONESTLY AMAZING. I really needed this.
Wow. I needed an answer and this popped up in my feed at the right time. You're amazing! Ahah
I know this comment is posted yeaaaars ago but I COULDN'T AGREE MORE!! this video also popped in my feed while i was contemplating whether to message him AGAIN.
If he's unresponsive, you may have caused him to go into deep shock. He might even die.
You are completely right, it took me a long time to learn this on my own I wish I had this wisdom years ago!
It's 2018 and all of your mantra Mondays are still relevant and personally to me relatable af! Thank you girl! 😍

I wish I could live near you and ask for your advice weekly, you're soooo awesome
“No response is a response.” - I love this. I think many of us learn it the hard way. It also applies to other areas like business or getting a job.
what if those people who respond to you are not the ones you are interested to respond and you like the ones who dont respond to you.
The beginning of some of your videos crack me the hell up, that's why I started following you. Now on this topic, as a fellow man, who's heard other mofos talk about the same and why they (my gender) have the tendency to do that is:

it may sound almost French but... no response... its a response. Unless the guy had an almost deadly experience or something.
I love how you go through the process of how each of us should work through the problem and end on an empowering inner thought process
I don’t understand how this channel only has 90k subscribers, the content is so good and it’s so entertaining... helped me a lot, thanks!!
"...being sold in a scary men sex market...." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

"He is just not that into you" 🤣😁
you look like emma watson and anne hathaway's lovechild :0 (really really pretty)
Sabrina Sotelo haha that was what i was supposed to say!
Yes!

lilli jørgensen I know this feeling. Except it's just a friend. Apparently he's not just a big texter but will always respond (most of the time).
Thank you for this, Amy! You always have very sensible yet fun learning videos, I loove it! I guess that is just it, "No response is your response." We just have to learn to let go and avoid having to do "looping" in our heads. Thanks again!
Ah, here's the video I have been excitedly waiting for all week! Love it.
This is so true. U couldn't have said better. Guy will find a way to call u if he wants to regardless of what happened with his phone. He just not into u!
Omg I needed this video sooo badly thank you!!! I was in that exact situation and this made me feel so much better.
You are hilarious!
Great job! Looking forward to more.
OMG love this video! I'm so glad it popped up on my feed. I have been feeling the same way and this gave me the clarity I needed. Thank you Amy!! :)

Watching your vido made me so much better. Thank you gorgeous!😘💟
You are funny. I actually laughed
Sometimes the best response is no response...cuz you really might wanna know why he's not talking to you.

You are just awesome. You know everything 😘😘😘😘😘😘
What about people who sometimes respond or people who don't respond but pop up later?
Lol! The "whhhooo-ey-ey-hey-hey😄"
Pretty good video..!! Had a great time with a girl and afterwards I would send a text once in awhile and always only get one response then... nothing. I'm assuming this applies for men as well XD

Shez so funny 😂😂
Good editing and your jokes are funny. 👍
Hahaha, Amy looks EXACTLY like a young brunette version of Sharon Stone!

LOL you are hilarious!
What if the person is your bf that has been super loving all day but hasn't responded for about two hours at the end of the day plus he's never done this before? Safe to say he's asleep or?
Bc my anxiety is building
Wow I need to hear this, thank you Amy :)
Brilliant.
You are a life changer!
Where is amy young gone???
You are really funny. I just think some people might not get the irony
This is exactly what I needed!
But, how long after no response should I deem the relationship is over and move on?
Lipstick&Tattoos I guess it depends on the other persons general rate of cellphone use... To me more than 1.5 days are a sure sign they saw it and chose not to respond.
Yeah like do I have a bad breath or sth?
Hahhaa I love this! So funny but true 😂
