i love that there is a 2nd chance for the top 12, but i think that losers from the round of 24 should of been in a played off for a chance at the last 3 spots

Capoch was so resilient man. What a fight, Capoch holding back against those mangonels on Islands was crazzzy. This has to be one of the best series of the year man.

MBL is the best to watch. To me this guy's playstyle is like Heath Ledger's rendition of the joker, bringing chaos and destruction in a stupid purple suit that doesn't fit, leaving a trail of explosions noises and clown laughters.

I think MbL's skill set is what you get when you lame in ladder games and don't hold back. He has done it so many times he can just navigate these situations by intuition. I think players like Viper and Hera would have been stronger if they had the same mentality towards ladder games as MbL.

the thing is most players at this level do clean build orders that usualy are easy to predict and everyone knows about, but they do them with a extremely good execution and have consistent results
mbl (and capoch is a close runner up imo) does the "fuck it, we ball" build order where you just do damage and be a pain to deal with
kudos to time2thinkmore in game 3 for the pathing comment at 1:23:50 Good to see someone who understood the situation.
By the way the games are absolutely incredible to watch. It may not be the best set of the qualifiers but it is certainly the wildest one and I have a feeling it will remain unmatched throughout entirety of 2024. Games like these are such a rare treat, especially nowadays.

Islands map should have reduced wood to reduce the length of islands. (Also start with a transport)
I wonder whether adding even more islands could improve it, also: more places for towers/castles could help make it less stale.
Maybe also more interesting features on the islands too: peninsulas that could be used to start landings, bays that could be protected with castles to allow redocking and hills (maybe even hills in the water?)

It would be nice to have "longer" videos, so that you can skip to 1-2 and still don't know who's winning. Now you can see it already when it's 1-2 or 2-1.
