First off let me apologize for the very long intro and description of the job we’re about to do.
There are three different methods for doing this Rusty shock tower job the first simplest quickest way
Is to buy an aftermarket shock tower and welded in . By cutting out the bad parts
The second way. if you have a good frame rail and the cheapest way of doing the job is to build a new shock tower bracket. And make the wheel tub out of fiberglass. I have video of that up on my UA-cam. That also includes the instructions on how to build the bracket and measurements.
The third way of doing it is the way that I’m going to demonstrate in this video it is called the screw and glue method. Just like all the other procedures removal is pretty much the same with the exception of the welding part. This procedure turned out very solid although was the most expensive of all three procedures to do because it required more materials. It did turn out very well and I’m sure the repair will last a number of years. So hopefully it’s it helps you save a couple dollars and get your Ford Escape Mercury mariner or your Mazda tribute back on the road.
