I'm so glad they've put the horn sound of the LEGACY fleet, on to the new trains.😃
3:32 sounds like a septa K-car a little bit
Nice bart catch, are the best, its a good way to film it in the balboa park too and in the alvarado street
2:49 reminds me of the 1000 series from WMATA (RIP 1976-2017)
3:07 Almost similar the same propulsion of Los Angeles Metro/Subway Cars
The older train sets sound a lot like the R142A NYC subway cars.
That’s because it’s Adtranz propulsion.
bro it sounds like the 7 train
The propulsion of the legacy fleet is made by Adtranz, later Bombardier, and now Alstom.
One sounds like a r143The other sounds like a r179 mixed with siemens.
I wonder why there is a loud electric buzzing sound coming from the old trains.
That only comes from the C cars which are the flat-nose cab cars, I think they were built by a company that also makes helicopters
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the BART is some form of broad gauge correct?
Indian gauge, correct.
Yes. Most of BART uses "Indian Gauge", which is 5 feet 6 inches, or 1,676 millimeters, while the more common "Standard Gauge" (used on the eBART line) is 4 feet 8 1/2 inches or 1,435 millimeters.
I find it weird when the legacy fleet has an A car on one end and a C car on the other.
