Genie Francis most definitely deserved earlier, (and multiple!) Emmys for her outstanding performances. Look up the episode "Laura Finds a Home" - a sincere tearjerker for sure!
Ok. Something was not right with whoever nominates and/or chooses the actors and actresses. Genie Francis was not even nominated until 1997??? Then it took until 2007 for her to actually win?? Did none of the Emmy people see her perfect performances in the 80’s? She was still a teenager?? I find that unbelievable and actually, offensive. I’m happy that she was FINALLY recognized for the very talented woman that she is.
@@cindys5426 I think a lot of the daytime people were still upset with Genie for leaving in 1982. That is the only thing that would make since why she didn't win multiple Emmy's like Tony did.
Tony could've been a bit more enthusiastic for his longtime acting partner who sold the world on him as irresistible. Very Lukewarm congrats from Tony. If it had been Jane Elliott he would have been gushing I'm sure.
Why didn't Anthony Geary even smile when Genie mentioned and thanked him when she won her long-overdue Emmy? Anthony won eight, Jonathan Jackson won five, and after 31 years, Genie finally won. She mentioned Anthony in her speech, and as I said, he didn't crack a smile or look happy she'd won. I've mentioned this in other posts and it's driving me crazy!

Shadow_Vetrin I know my comment to your comment is a little late - 😳, but I think I might know the answer. I’m not surprised that the wrong music was played for her. They can’t be very smart. They didn’t even nominate her until 1997. She didn’t win until 2007!! I don’t understand how they could not recognize the brilliant performances she made while still a teenager.With that kind of intelligence, I’d be surprised if they didn’t play the wrong music
@alstonpmaroon to me Tony should have won two he lost. as for julie. I looked at her competition and that emmy better go to Christel. Julie's work this year was good but Christel's work was way emmy worthy.
I love them both. I walked through time with them and shed tears with their characters. They are great individually and together.
