As a former D1 basketball player. I feel this woman. As a athlete. I appreciate her focus. Her strong mindedness. Her competitiveness. The way she speaks on her coach. And what she brings to the table. Her mentor.....mom...friend. Trainer. Yes goals. But the work she puts in. May she continue to grow. Continue to be her best self .... congratulations to this beautiful black woman. And elite athlete......

A country with all of the Blk people Nigeria has should have more than one world record in athletics. 'Hope you get more.

    • @prospektarty1513

And what is your point? Getting a world record is not easy. Becoming a world record holder in any event is not easy especially in the sprints dominated by 2 pedigree countries. America and Jamaica are to the sprints what Kenya and Ethiopia are to the long distances. Tobi coming through and not only winning a track gold medal at the world champs but getting a world record is a great achievement for Nigeria and Africa and for our women in particular. She is a genuine national treasure and is very special for all Nigerians. On the world stage As West Africans Sometimes we do averagely well in some athletics events especially the long jump but generally we struggle to match up to the Jamaicans and Americans. Like those the African Caribbeans and African Americans who are of West African origin the longer distances are out of our league, we don’t have the physique or the lungs for that. West and Central Africans and their diaspora cousins are more suited for high powered short range sports eg long jump triple jump, football and basketball. We are short range maximum impact missiles. East Africans are the worlds best long range missiles travelling thousands of metres to their destination
