So awesome to see a Brother with this earthship. I thought i was the only African descendant who was with this. I want one so bad. Low income though. Congrats to u, u got it made.
this earthship design is like an education on living properly! watching this man check on the eggs gave me a very real sense of how it all works for some reason...
I sooooooooo want one of these!!! Really glad to see black people embracing the green movement. Places like this are good for the planet and can also help black people achieve more economic independence. Viva Earthships!!!!
labor and material is already in abundance, what is needed is are people within the system to start adopting alternate building practices. I'm happy to work for free on one of these, maybe even pay for the chance (assuming the beer is free).
you can take a workshop and get to help build on their current project. You can even rent an earthship to stay in. I stayed a weekend and helped work on this home. It was amazing
@emmanualsanga Obviously its for all people... If you look at the media, the green industry in the US has been portrayed as a largely white phenomena. Its only recently that urban farming & the focus on food deserts has there been the connection btw communities of color & environment. Like it or not, our society is racialized, and highlighting how urbanism and permaculture can help a specific demographic of people only FURTHER makes the case for why it is important.
This article also acknowledges the ignorace about people of color and issues regarding the green industry in particular veganism. QUOTE - " As one Philadelphia Inquirer writer put it .., “I’ve been told, straight-faced, that ‘black vegans’ are nonexistent, since the ‘veggie’ thing is just spoiled white college kids acting out.” Media over-exposure of the movement’s key white figures has further perpetuated this illusion, rendering vegans of color virtually invisible in our cultural landscape."

We need to get a bunch of construction workers together and start a build-these-things-everywhere campaign.
All we need is labor and materials.

This is great! I want one.
WoW, I love your house, want to have one too!
Cost about the same as a conventional house. Until it's done, then there's no comparison.
Awesome, I believe you!
I want two!
