I think the main difference between child and the knave is that she is able to connect her powers together at all times. The difference between her forms is the intensity of the power not the nature of it. Maybe that's because the fault legacy transformation takes such a great toll on Tartaglia.

Hoyo had to beat the story leakers, so they leaked it themselves. Traveler used more power on childe in their first fight. That's crazy. Lynette uses her anemo when she tries to stab her.

The Traveler is gradually becoming more powerful, with a good example being him not standing a chance against La Signora in Mondstadt but defeating her in Inazuma, but he is still far from being able to defeat Gods or those close to the level of a God alone.
Right.....except nobody takes problem with not being able to 1v1 the forth harbinger, the problem is the fact that the MC does nothing in the cutscenes themselves. He has 5 elements and should fairly strong lore-wise since he did physically defeat some of the weekly bosses on his own, such as Andrius-Childe-Signora-GodMechScara and Apep'sintestinal wom. Yes he had help for the last 2, but it was more so support rather than Nahida herself dealing damage.

Only time MC use them combined where on Childe fight. Since then (unless they have been used in an event or Story Quest that I haven't played) I have never seen the powers being used well
Her quest was kinda basic on the surface but I think there was more to it if you read between the lines by looking at HOW they tell the story using specific themes, and what they could be implying about Arlecchino's 'curse' We have a ghost or 'shadow' associated with the curse, a character who clearly cares for forgotten and mistreated children who would lie and sacrifice even her blood (fire) for them, the power to erase memories, and ANOTHER instance of losing memory causing you to revert to a younger version of yourself if you are some kind of energy or leyline entity (like nahida, ann the oceanid, probably paimon, etc.) These are all the ingredients for someone like peruere (a flickering shadow of the crimson moon?) to appear as a child in the house of the hearth. I think the themes are telling her REAL backstory being that she came here from khaenriah after burning away most of her memories and appearing as a child. She did this in response to clervie's wish to the MOON. we're never told her age or her origins but it's weird how we're told only 6 years passed since clervie died at 16 which IF they were the same age would put peruere at 22.. (hoyo writers don't often talk about age so this struck me as weird and intentional) this makes no sense unless you consider that she could age differently if she recovers more of her old memories leading to an appearance at least five-ish years older than we would expect. Now hear me out.. all of that plus her boss form name 'cinder of two world's flames' tells us exactly who she was in her past life. She is Perinheri the undefeated knight of the Crimson Moon who gave up her past life and came to put an end to the horrors of the house of the hearth I told this to my wife when we finished the quest and she said.. 'you mean like Lilo and Stitch?' and now I'm dead lmao

1:51 Um actually 🤓☝, If u look closely in the cutscene when lynette and fremi attack arle and then got blocked lynette use her anemo infusion and freminet has an excuse here because his gameplay mainly use physical and for lyney in the boss fight he actually helped us by using his skill or charged attack thing those cat hat bomb thingies, the only weird one is traveler dont use any elements like why they use elements in navia story quest to block some rock but not for fighting the 4th harbinger who clearly almost archon level but I guess the traveler already know arle not serious in her fight so traveler decided to do so too (?) and they also not hurt at all or feel fatigue after the fight like arle fight is some sort of sparring to the travelers (sry for bad en not native)

Arle winning isnt the issue. Trav not using their power is the issue. Trav didnt have to win, Arle didnt have to lose. Trav just needed to show some more muscle

the traveler uses the elements but isn't very good at it. what i mean is the way he controls them is very basic. in cutscenes, wanderer, someone who got his vision pretty recently, can use anemo energy to fly and turn objects like his hat into anemo energy. the only thing i really see traveler do with anemo is create basic wind sphere to block attacks. even with geo he just creates ground spikes, itto can cover his weapon with geo and make a big spiked club. even in inazuma he made a big lightning blade. Noelle can do the same thing but with geo and less big. he has potential to be the best element user. but he doesn't use them very good. i hope in natlan he gets to train
I feel like the traveler was holding back, even before the fight, they knew Arlecchino had them dancing in her hands and wanted them to fight her. So unlike the other battles were it was a duel to the death, this felt like a skirmish/front in disguises as a duel. Also Arlecchino's been controlling the travelers emotions since they stepped in Fontaine and wanted to flex her power. I think it was emotional blackmail saying helped them or they die and we wont be on any friendly terms going forward. Edit: Also the traveler being able to fight that far without using all the elements is a big flex too.

But why would they hold back, from thier point of view, they thought Arle was gonna execute those 5 people plus possibly the twins and freminet too, they had every reason to at least use most of thier power. It just feels weird, the Traveler was using all of their power to defend the Geo-Gnosis against Childe but when 8 peoples lives are at stake, 3 of them they have a deep bond to, they just hold back and throw the fight after their trauma was triggered by the crimson moon. they could have shown the Traveler losing in many ways, but the traveler not using any elements and throwing the fight, when lives were on the line, just feels like lazy writing to hype Arle up.
@@spolachs1251 After the crimson moon trigger, i figured the traveler was about to power up but that when Arle stopped the fight. Traveler had just recovered from previous attack and had a "Hey? what are you planning? Is this part of the plan?!" It seems not understanding Arle's true intensions caused them to hesitate alot during this encounter. I had did Navia's story quest along side this, since they use alot of the same locations, and i remember after Navia used alot of her elemental power she was drained. Seems like unlike Us, everyone else can't just spam elemental attacks and recover that easy.

@@stellarmelody2784 Ah i see where you're going with that. The imagery of the crimson moon triggering some kinda PTSD of the cataclysm. I think the use of Elements in story fights, must also be a visual effect of a character's (Canon) Elemental Mastery and energy recharge levels.
On an unrelated note, where was Paimon during the fight, at the start she is there with us, but she is just gone when the Travler trauma gets triggered and just appears beside the traveler after the cutsecene ends. Normally she is in there with us, dodging attacks and trying to help us out, like helping us stand up if the traveler is knocked down or push rubble of us, she did so when we fought against Child, 1st round Shogun, 1st round scara and 2nd round scara.
This quest really had me off my seat through the ending stages. Especially that Crimson Moon scene. Also that makes 4 Harbingers we've fought, but only 3 we've beaten. Shows we're still not ready to fight the gods yet. Man this quest was good. MiHoYo cooked.
the fight with scarmouche was a bit scuffed, we didnt fight scarmouche per say but rather shouki no kami, who was a god. and we woulda lost if not for nahida. but childe and signora we did beat
i get that cutscenes are almost never for the traveler, theyre 99% for the characters theyre hyping up but god damn it really kills my adrenaline when i see getting fodderized, ragdolled, steamrolled, low diffed by someone after we are 5 nations deep. I love arlecchino, i love everything about arlecchino, i want her to step on my head with her heels. But getting fodderized still just sucks + the mention of not A SINGLE person using elemental abilities besides her. If youre a Naruto fan, i saw that end to the fight more like when Tsunade first encountered/"fought" naruto when he was a kid. Someone completely out of his league yet still being like some sort of mentor(?)/whatever. Thats fine, but again naruto was a kid. Traveler is 5 nations deep with 0 usage of any elemental power after that quest my adrenaline was so low i had to boot up helldivers IMMEDIATELY
Ok people seem to have miss understood the cut scene. Arlecchino is blocking the travellers attempt to use her powers. The traveller looks scared of her for real at the end. It should be a wakening call what we are really up against in the future. If Arlecchinos will to rival the world is stronger than the traveller would mean that she is some type of Descender as well or something stronger.

The way i see it , this is the first fight where the traveler did not have any help whatsoever By help i mean outside powers When we defeated Ei miko boosted the MC with all the people of inazuma's will When we defeated scara with a gnosis , not only did we lose so many times to learn his attacks but we also required the help of all the sumeru people and their knowledge During the narwhal fight we had a fully fledged hydro sovereign to help us defeat him This is so far the only fight where the MC was against a very powerful individual yet had no help So i think to me, this shows so far the MC isn't yet that powerful That is my reason anyway because the other explanation is neither her nor the traveler were taking the duel seriously 😂😂

I’m so disappointed in the travelers growth. If traveler with 5 elements can’t even pressure arlechinno then what? A 6 element traveler is not even worthy of being in the same continent as Capitano. Why doesn’t traveler use their power at all? On my scales, the only reason Capitano would entertain traveler with his presence is because he’s honorable.

It should give you an idea of Arlecchinos true strengh. She is a spy in the Fatui basically so she hides her powerlevel they probably just believe that she is a skilled fighter. As far as I understand she plans to attack the Fatui during Project stuzsha before they can experiment on her children. Her allegiance seems to be to them only and not to Tsaritsa as I originally thought.

I think its moreso the travelers scared of the person, we met ei and just discovered shes misguided, we met scara and discovered hes arrogant, we met the narwhal and its literally just an animal. but arlecchino is impossible to read even by Neuvillettes standards, all we truly we know is she is in a sense "cold-blooded" albeit not as much as we originally thought
Yeah but we have had help against most weekly bosses, venti helped us against dvalin, zhongli against azdaha, the traveler never fought against the shogun puppet that was all Ei, nahida helped us against scaramouche and Neuvillete against the narwhal, which I think it’s the strongest boss we have vanquished so far,

Yeah, I was really annoyed when I realized that animated short just SPOILED EVERYTHING from this quest. They should have released that short a few days AFTER the quest. It was like: why are they acting like we don't know there's another Knave? Anyone who's done the inazuma world quests already knew there was a knave before her. It's no secret to anyone who cares about the lore. A lot of your video, word for word was what I was thinking. The one time we don't need them to fully elaborate on all of the promo material, they do. I assumed the quest might cover why she's cursed or why she glitches. But no, they just filled in the spaces between parts of the animated short (telling us things we could already gather after seeing that animated short). The only thing new that it told us, was her exact age (give or take) as well as how she and Freminet could both be children in the house together, despite their age differences and it confirmed that she didn't fully intend to kill her friend. And that she's not from Fontaine. Which I assumed because telling the traveler that is like handing an enemy a way to kill her if she really were able to be dissolved. There was has never a full alliance between them and if the traveler and she turned on each other, they could just use primordial water on her butt and be done with it, if she really were Fontaineien (sp?) So I was like: ok, so what? And she said it in a way that suggested she didn't expect the traveler to actually believe she was from Fontaine, anyway. They had 3 perfect chances to make it a REALLY good quest when she flashed the traveler to that illusory world (that could have been used to explain the glitching and/or her true origin and/or her curse) with the red moon. Same with the fire that erases memory, that was a second chance to explain the curse in particular, since it seems connected to it. And the 3rd was in explaining HOW her fire created that ghost, and why. But they did nothing with those chances. Just like none of the kids or the traveler used their elements against her. Yet they were supposedly desprate to save those NPC lives.... It didn't seem that way. Yeah, the choreography of the fight was great. But... wasn't much point because all 5 of them (the traveler, the 3 kids and Arlecchino) were holding back. I might think it was all a play put on with some other party in mind. Like: If some other unknown person was watching, with father and the traveler both aware and faking it. But it's clear that can't be the case, since we see the traveler's thoughts and confusion.
Lol you miss understand whatever Arlecchino really is something nobody knows, I don't think anyone has seen the crimson moon form except the traveller. As far as I know traveller has Descender status, and that seemed to be no issue at all for her. That said traveller draws her strengh from wishes from others and nobody really wanted Arlecchino dead therefore that wish can't be absorbed. Arlecchino seemed to relish the moment the traveller will be able to kill her, it is possible that she can't die from anything inside that world that would make her something very close to a vampire.

What I think a descender is someone that can use other peoples hopes and fight the trajectory of fate. Incidentally is something Arlecchino mentions a lot. The Cinder of two worlds has to do with her being from outside that timeline the Crimson Moon dynasty and that would be why she glitches like crazy.
@@DawitsLookingforEmilia No it's not a fluke. Wishes are tied to visions, Descender has very specific requirements, they are said to be able to rival the will of the world. It means that only descenders can use visions to actually change fate. Visions is like a sign of respect from Celestia that there is potential to become something great. I still do not buy into that Celestia is some evil foreign power. Arlecchino transpored the traveller to the Crimson Moon domain cuz that's what I think that is, were time seizes to exist and she uses that to revive herself. She wanted to show the traveller that for whatever reason but probably because she includes the traveller in her plan to stop project Stuzsha or however you spell that. I am still cooking
The siblings' vigor to defend their fellow orphans didnt really matched what happened in the quest. I thought they would physically appear as a separate NPC state and use whatever during the fight but it was just their skills which are barely noticeable when youre literally focusing on the fight yourself. It's also weird that the Traveler didnt use any elemental skills on the cutscenes with exception to the crimson moon bit. Arle stated that staring at her eyes gives off a very unpleasant experience. Traveler also stated they can't move during that scene so it may have cutoff the ability to use one. She maybe right, the Traveler isn't ready to beat her yet as the Traveler's grasp of knowledge may require to reach Khaenriah first. If we're gonna think about it, the Traveler isnt thinking of getting their original power ASAP - thru actions atleast.
You can remove the traveler from this story and it plays out exactly the same way. Do you think Arlechino expositing her backstory at us was out of character or justified? Why were we brought along to the meeting with Neuvilette? Like did we even need that scene when we had the one with the guy selling papers which more naturally conveyed the same things? The best manipulation she does the whole quest is motivating her children to fight her to protect their siblings, even tho everyone knows she’ll win, as she’s not going to punish via murder anyhow. It cements Lyney as the next king in all the children’s eyes.

AT LEAST PUT UP A FIGHT with all your elements you've gathered you little twerp. Was it only vs Childe that we used our powers? We used both anemo and geo against him in the cutscene.

Yeah, it’s one thing to have Traveler lose to the 4th Harbinger (Hoyo needs to advertise Arlecchino after all), but it still felt kind of stupid for Traveler to not use any Elements in the fight, especially since they truly believed Arlecchino would kill Freminet and the others. And honestly, I was mad that Traveler didn’t ask Childe a single question about Skirk, her background, or what her deal is lol. Always forgetting to ask the important questions until Dain shows up and then leaves for another year-long Hiatus. Look I get it, we need to show off the strength of harbingers and sell Arlecchino, but having her actually be threatened by the traveler would actually achieve that goal better imo. Like after a seemingly close fight, Arlecchino pulls out the genjutsu fuckery and then you can have the traveller fold. Bc they are in over their head. More times then not traveler had help when fighting other weekly bosses. The only people they've ever beaten on their own was childe and signora. They had to be humbled

I have a suspicion it's a policy for the Genshin team to avoid making free characters look cool or appealing as much is possible. - Traveller uses their ability, welding multiple elements at once, the one they are world famous for, the one constantly talked about only ONCE in the entire game. Seeing them just wield one element is more common but still incredibly rare. - Lisa is the best academya student in the last 200 hundred or so years. Only showed up there once during a limited time event and it was never brought up again. - Kaeya is obviously incredibly important because he's one of the very few characters connected to Khaenri'ah. Showed up during Caribert but the whole thing felt like they wanted to get him off screen as soon as possible but the plot demanded for him to be there so they couldn't get rid of him entirely. - Collei's story was mentioned by Tighnari once and was never elaborated on every again. Didn't even get any mentions of the Doctor from her when we met her while LITERALLY RUNNING AWAY FROM HIM AND HIS GOONS. - Amber The only exceptions seem to be Lynette and Xianling but for the ladder, Guoba got more than she ever did

Honestly, I think the whole point of the Crimison Moon scene was to show that even if the Traveler used all 5 elements- it would not be enough to beat Arrlechino. But honestly, it would've been more impactful if the Traveler actually used the elements against her and we saw them not having the intended effect before she pulled out the Moon.
Dawit, my real question is whether the traveler's reaction to the Crimson Moon in Peruer's Domain is one of shock and recognition or if it's just to hype up Arlecchino pulling more.
a crimson moon is a widely known symbolic metaphor, so im sure someone as traveled as the traveler has heard of it before, it just so happens it takes on a different meaning in teyvat, but whether or not they recognize that is a bit of mystery
The traveler not being able to beat the 4th Fatui Harbinger makes me relieved since it makes any fights with lower ranked harbingers feel more like there are stakes.

And when they do, they normally just use one element. There have only been like 2 scenes in the entire game where the traveler used 2 elements at the same time.
wholesome but not alot of lore. hope act 2 will give us more lore. well...maybe there's one thing i should mention. during the boss fight with Arlecchino , if you got hit with her mark thingy 4 times you'll get an achievement. The achievement is call "If You're Thirsty For Blood". Interesting part is where the dev place this achievement, they put it in Challenger: Series IX , where you could get a special name card with Surtalogi's whale as a reward . Just something to think about that's all.
It's understandable that the traveler couldn't defeat Arlecchino, the 4'th harbinger but not even putting up a fight is beyond disappointing. guess the dull sword suits him/her best :)
On the topic of the commentary on the early part of the video, this is what irks me about Genshin cutscenes. RARELY do they ever use *specialized* abilities that are specific to characters, instead opting for sword-play and an infused weapon at best when attacking. And I mean yeah, it's okay. For the cutscene in which the traveler + fontaine trio fight Arlecchino it does make sense why they'd go for more blunt attacks rather than focusing on conjuring up elemental abilities, but for other cutscenes it's so frustrating because you get this character who in gameplay can do this and that, then come the cutscenes and at most they attack with their weapon.
The fact that the traveler doesn’t use any elements is ridiculous especially since Arlecchino who knows about our feats said that the traveler was stronger than she expected, implying that no elements traveler is stronger than both Childe and Signora, which is hilarious to me. I was also very unsurprised by Arlecchino knowing everything that was happening (she is the greatest intelligence gatherer in possibly all of Teyvat) although her catching the bird did surprise me. You brought up the ages of Arlecchino and the traveler which reminds me of the fact that the traveler is assumed to be a minor by many people yet is older than 99% of all humans in Teyvat, and quite possibly even older than Teyvat itself, at least the current post Primordial One arrival Teyvat. I’m very curious about project Stuzha because 4 Harbingers are involved. Wtf are the Fatui doing that is so big that 4 harbingers are needed? And when are we inevitably going to stop it or at least witness the consequences of it? What a great story quest though.

I guess Mihoyo released the spoiler video before the quest just to make sure CN playerbase does not go mad during the quest when players are not supposed to know yet that those horrible deeds of House of the Hearth Head that Clervi spoke of are Krukabena's doings, not Arlecchino's. CN playerbase already hated Scara for him being mean to Nahida, they don't like "grey morality" characters at all.

I loved the trailer immediately being expanded upon by the story quest personally. When we saw Clervie in the story quest, I was immediately invested in what would happen, rather than "oh great another irrevelant npc setting us up for some tedious fetch quest". Probably saved a decent amount of device memory to exclude the video content from the trailer from the patch too.

There was a big avalanche of boulders that needed to be slowed or stopped right? So the traveller switched to geo to stop them. Now imagine the boulders are rolling downhill and the traveler is standing still and then in the next scene the boulders just stopped and we didn't see him use any elements to stop them that wouldn't make sense. Thats a least how I would explain it don't know if it was a good comparison though XD. Like with bosses it's expected the traveler would have to use them as opposed to a real time rock slide that we need to see how he'd stop.

So are the traveler and Arlechino in a very tiny club of only two known to have killed a harbinger? Like yeah, technically the puppet did it, but traveler beat Signora knowing it would be her death, so the shogun was basically just the weapon the traveler wielded to kill her.

I was so salty when I played the quest and knew everything beforehand like what was the plan? To leak the backstory so it is not enjoyable? I haven't even watched trailer cutscenes for like 2y now because they spoil EVERYTHING and it even makes the exploration not fun or that enjoyable anymore. I remember first time doing it with chasm and when I watched the trailer after finishing the main quests I still got spoiled some interesting bits I could've discovered on my own. But the animations were always just like, something extra, think of Tsubaki in thawing snow. Well, not anymore. Also the fact we get a sliver of Arle's origin in TEXT in CHARACTER STORY where Pierro says "read a book" we already have from last patch, Idk with all that drip marketing and hype I think I expected something... idk, something not spoiled ahead of time at least. But the dynamics of the House of the Hearth were interesting to see at least. Remuria was also beautiful experience, can't ignore that. Reminds me, what the f is up with the absolute vacuum in the new part of Sumeru coast? Walking through there felt the same as walking out of bounds xD. They might as well left it beyond the Paimon wall. Maybe instead of paying money for literal spoilers they could've added at least a second puzzle somewhere. The only hard copium I have is that the Khaenrian door is pointing exactly in the direction of this barren strip of land but who knows. Maybe that will be another thing spoiled in a trailer and an animation one day. sorry for the rant here, I am probably burning out
Tbf Traveler did have a LOT of help via Nahida hax during Scara fight. Now I may be overestimating Scara god mecha Evangelion mode, vut I think at the time we arrived he would have been at Arlecchino s level. It's not to much of a stretch to say the level difference just never was a clear as it is now. I estimate we saw no less than half of Arlecchinos true abilities. I'm also willing to throw down that Traveler won't break the power ceiling until they have all seven elements.
Ngl By now the traveler should be capable of more things, you know? I like how by making the traveler weak, they give the other characters a spotlight (Yes, I'm also aware that is for marketing), however, I wish they start giving the traveler some power too, even if it can't be reflected on gameplay.

For me personally the best part of this quest was when Arlecchino activated her Mangekyou Sharingan and trapped the Traveler in a genjutsu. That was some good shizz

I think the main difference between child and the knave is that she is able to connect her powers together at all times. The difference between her forms is the intensity of the power not the nature of it. Maybe that's because the fault legacy transformation takes such a great toll on Tartaglia.

Right.....except nobody takes problem with not being able to 1v1 the forth harbinger, the problem is the fact that the MC does nothing in the cutscenes themselves. He has 5 elements and should fairly strong lore-wise since he did physically defeat some of the weekly bosses on his own, such as Andrius-Childe-Signora-GodMechScara and Apep'sintestinal wom. Yes he had help for the last 2, but it was more so support rather than Nahida herself dealing damage.

For example imagine the Fontaine AQ with Navia and MC vs Mecabots. MC should stomp them hard with no diff, but if he/she stomps them there won't be any plot.
That or they are lazy/don't know how to represent the elements. Only time MC use them combined where on Childe fight. Since then (unless they have been used in an event or Story Quest that I haven't played) I have never seen the powers being used well
Her quest was kinda basic on the surface but I think there was more to it if you read between the lines by looking at HOW they tell the story using specific themes, and what they could be implying about Arlecchino's 'curse'
We have a ghost or 'shadow' associated with the curse, a character who clearly cares for forgotten and mistreated children who would lie and sacrifice even her blood (fire) for them, the power to erase memories, and ANOTHER instance of losing memory causing you to revert to a younger version of yourself if you are some kind of energy or leyline entity (like nahida, ann the oceanid, probably paimon, etc.)
These are all the ingredients for someone like peruere (a flickering shadow of the crimson moon?) to appear as a child in the house of the hearth. I think the themes are telling her REAL backstory being that she came here from khaenriah after burning away most of her memories and appearing as a child. She did this in response to clervie's wish to the MOON. we're never told her age or her origins but it's weird how we're told only 6 years passed since clervie died at 16 which IF they were the same age would put peruere at 22.. (hoyo writers don't often talk about age so this struck me as weird and intentional) this makes no sense unless you consider that she could age differently if she recovers more of her old memories leading to an appearance at least five-ish years older than we would expect.
Now hear me out.. all of that plus her boss form name 'cinder of two world's flames' tells us exactly who she was in her past life. She is Perinheri the undefeated knight of the Crimson Moon who gave up her past life and came to put an end to the horrors of the house of the hearth

1:51 Um actually 🤓☝, If u look closely in the cutscene when lynette and fremi attack arle and then got blocked lynette use her anemo infusion and freminet has an excuse here because his gameplay mainly use physical and for lyney in the boss fight he actually helped us by using his skill or charged attack thing those cat hat bomb thingies, the only weird one is traveler dont use any elements like why they use elements in navia story quest to block some rock but not for fighting the 4th harbinger who clearly almost archon level but I guess the traveler already know arle not serious in her fight so traveler decided to do so too (?) and they also not hurt at all or feel fatigue after the fight like arle fight is some sort of sparring to the travelers (sry for bad en not native)

the traveler uses the elements but isn't very good at it. what i mean is the way he controls them is very basic. in cutscenes, wanderer, someone who got his vision pretty recently, can use anemo energy to fly and turn objects like his hat into anemo energy.
the only thing i really see traveler do with anemo is create basic wind sphere to block attacks. even with geo he just creates ground spikes, itto can cover his weapon with geo and make a big spiked club.
even in inazuma he made a big lightning blade. Noelle can do the same thing but with geo and less big.
he has potential to be the best element user. but he doesn't use them very good.
i hope in natlan he gets to train
I feel like the traveler was holding back, even before the fight, they knew Arlecchino had them dancing in her hands and wanted them to fight her. So unlike the other battles were it was a duel to the death, this felt like a skirmish/front in disguises as a duel. Also Arlecchino's been controlling the travelers emotions since they stepped in Fontaine and wanted to flex her power. I think it was emotional blackmail saying helped them or they die and we wont be on any friendly terms going forward. Edit: Also the traveler being able to fight that far without using all the elements is a big flex too.

But why would they hold back, from thier point of view, they thought Arle was gonna execute those 5 people plus possibly the twins and freminet too, they had every reason to at least use most of thier power. It just feels weird, the Traveler was using all of their power to defend the Geo-Gnosis against Childe but when 8 peoples lives are at stake, 3 of them they have a deep bond to, they just hold back and throw the fight after their trauma was triggered by the crimson moon. they could have shown the Traveler losing in many ways, but the traveler not using any elements and throwing the fight, when lives were on the line, just feels like lazy writing to hype Arle up.
@@spolachs1251 After the crimson moon trigger, i figured the traveler was about to power up but that when Arle stopped the fight. Traveler had just recovered from previous attack and had a "Hey? what are you planning? Is this part of the plan?!" It seems not understanding Arle's true intensions caused them to hesitate alot during this encounter. I had did Navia's story quest along side this, since they use alot of the same locations, and i remember after Navia used alot of her elemental power she was drained. Seems like unlike Us, everyone else can't just spam elemental attacks and recover that easy.

On an unrelated note, where was Paimon during the fight, at the start she is there with us, but she is just gone when the Travler trauma gets triggered and just appears beside the traveler after the cutsecene ends. Normally she is in there with us, dodging attacks and trying to help us out, like helping us stand up if the traveler is knocked down or push rubble of us, she did so when we fought against Child, 1st round Shogun, 1st round scara and 2nd round scara.

the fight with scarmouche was a bit scuffed, we didnt fight scarmouche per say but rather shouki no kami, who was a god. and we woulda lost if not for nahida. but childe and signora we did beat

i get that cutscenes are almost never for the traveler, theyre 99% for the characters theyre hyping up but god damn it really kills my adrenaline when i see getting fodderized, ragdolled, steamrolled, low diffed by someone after we are 5 nations deep. I love arlecchino, i love everything about arlecchino, i want her to step on my head with her heels. But getting fodderized still just sucks + the mention of not A SINGLE person using elemental abilities besides her. If youre a Naruto fan, i saw that end to the fight more like when Tsunade first encountered/"fought" naruto when he was a kid. Someone completely out of his league yet still being like some sort of mentor(?)/whatever. Thats fine, but again naruto was a kid. Traveler is 5 nations deep with 0 usage of any elemental power

Ok people seem to have miss understood the cut scene. Arlecchino is blocking the travellers attempt to use her powers. The traveller looks scared of her for real at the end. It should be a wakening call what we are really up against in the future. If Arlecchinos will to rival the world is stronger than the traveller would mean that she is some type of Descender as well or something stronger.

I’m so disappointed in the travelers growth. If traveler with 5 elements can’t even pressure arlechinno then what? A 6 element traveler is not even worthy of being in the same continent as Capitano. Why doesn’t traveler use their power at all? On my scales, the only reason Capitano would entertain traveler with his presence is because he’s honorable.

It should give you an idea of Arlecchinos true strengh. She is a spy in the Fatui basically so she hides her powerlevel they probably just believe that she is a skilled fighter. As far as I understand she plans to attack the Fatui during Project stuzsha before they can experiment on her children. Her allegiance seems to be to them only and not to Tsaritsa as I originally thought.

Yeah, I was really annoyed when I realized that animated short just SPOILED EVERYTHING from this quest.
They should have released that short a few days AFTER the quest.
It was like: why are they acting like we don't know there's another Knave?
Anyone who's done the inazuma world quests already knew there was a knave before her.
It's no secret to anyone who cares about the lore. A lot of your video, word for word was what I was thinking.
The one time we don't need them to fully elaborate on all of the promo material, they do.
I assumed the quest might cover why she's cursed or why she glitches.
But no, they just filled in the spaces between parts of the animated short (telling us things we could already gather after seeing that animated short).
The only thing new that it told us, was her exact age (give or take) as well as how she and Freminet could both be children in the house together, despite their age differences and it confirmed that she didn't fully intend to kill her friend.
And that she's not from Fontaine.
Which I assumed because telling the traveler that is like handing an enemy a way to kill her if she really were able to be dissolved.
There was has never a full alliance between them and if the traveler and she turned on each other, they could just use primordial water on her butt and be done with it, if she really were Fontaineien (sp?)
So I was like: ok, so what?
And she said it in a way that suggested she didn't expect the traveler to actually believe she was from Fontaine, anyway.
They had 3 perfect chances to make it a REALLY good quest when she flashed the traveler to that illusory world (that could have been used to explain the glitching and/or her true origin and/or her curse) with the red moon.
Same with the fire that erases memory, that was a second chance to explain the curse in particular, since it seems connected to it.
And the 3rd was in explaining HOW her fire created that ghost, and why.
But they did nothing with those chances.
Just like none of the kids or the traveler used their elements against her.
Yet they were supposedly desprate to save those NPC lives.... It didn't seem that way. Yeah, the choreography of the fight was great.
But... wasn't much point because all 5 of them (the traveler, the 3 kids and Arlecchino) were holding back.
I might think it was all a play put on with some other party in mind.
Like:
If some other unknown person was watching, with father and the traveler both aware and faking it.
But it's clear that can't be the case, since we see the traveler's thoughts and confusion.

Lol you miss understand whatever Arlecchino really is something nobody knows, I don't think anyone has seen the crimson moon form except the traveller. As far as I know traveller has Descender status, and that seemed to be no issue at all for her. That said traveller draws her strengh from wishes from others and nobody really wanted Arlecchino dead therefore that wish can't be absorbed. Arlecchino seemed to relish the moment the traveller will be able to kill her, it is possible that she can't die from anything inside that world that would make her something very close to a vampire.

What I think a descender is someone that can use other peoples hopes and fight the trajectory of fate. Incidentally is something Arlecchino mentions a lot. The Cinder of two worlds has to do with her being from outside that timeline the Crimson Moon dynasty and that would be why she glitches like crazy.

It means that only descenders can use visions to actually change fate. Visions is like a sign of respect from Celestia that there is potential to become something great. I still do not buy into that Celestia is some evil foreign power. Arlecchino transpored the traveller to the Crimson Moon domain cuz that's what I think that is, were time seizes to exist and she uses that to revive herself. She wanted to show the traveller that for whatever reason but probably because she includes the traveller in her plan to stop project Stuzsha or however you spell that. I am still cooking

The siblings' vigor to defend their fellow orphans didnt really matched what happened in the quest. I thought they would physically appear as a separate NPC state and use whatever during the fight but it was just their skills which are barely noticeable when youre literally focusing on the fight yourself.
It's also weird that the Traveler didnt use any elemental skills on the cutscenes with exception to the crimson moon bit. Arle stated that staring at her eyes gives off a very unpleasant experience. Traveler also stated they can't move during that scene so it may have cutoff the ability to use one. She maybe right, the Traveler isn't ready to beat her yet as the Traveler's grasp of knowledge may require to reach Khaenriah first. If we're gonna think about it, the Traveler isnt thinking of getting their original power ASAP - thru actions atleast.
You can remove the traveler from this story and it plays out exactly the same way.
Do you think Arlechino expositing her backstory at us was out of character or justified? Why were we brought along to the meeting with Neuvilette? Like did we even need that scene when we had the one with the guy selling papers which more naturally conveyed the same things?
The best manipulation she does the whole quest is motivating her children to fight her to protect their siblings, even tho everyone knows she’ll win, as she’s not going to punish via murder anyhow. It cements Lyney as the next king in all the children’s eyes.

Yeah, it’s one thing to have Traveler lose to the 4th Harbinger (Hoyo needs to advertise Arlecchino after all), but it still felt kind of stupid for Traveler to not use any Elements in the fight, especially since they truly believed Arlecchino would kill Freminet and the others.
And honestly, I was mad that Traveler didn’t ask Childe a single question about Skirk, her background, or what her deal is lol. Always forgetting to ask the important questions until Dain shows up and then leaves for another year-long Hiatus. Honestly, Dainsleif should have been a manga artist rather than a bodyguard lol, he’d be perfect for the job.
Back to more interesting topics, it is pretty interesting to see that the Crimson Moon Dynasty still survives through Arlecchino, and it makes me wonder whether her x eyes symbolize her heritage just as the primogem star does for Eclipse Dynasty nobles.
Though it does suck that Arlecchino doesn’t know anything about the Crimson Moon.
Oh well, guess it’s back to waiting for Dain to show up again for answers. Hopefully this time Traveler will ask him about the Sinner, Skirk, Vedrfolnir, Surtalogi, and the Crimson Moon dynasty.

A note: Project Stuzha (Проект Стужа) translates to "Project Severe Cold/Project Hard Frost".
And Trav most likely used powers off-screen/in the fight. We saw them using Aero + Geo against Childe and using Aero/Geo against rocks in Navia's quest.

I have a suspicion it's a policy for the Genshin team to avoid making free characters look cool or appealing as much is possible.
- Traveller uses their ability, welding multiple elements at once, the one they are world famous for, the one constantly talked about only ONCE in the entire game. Seeing them just wield one element is more common but still incredibly rare.
- Lisa is the best academya student in the last 200 hundred or so years. Only showed up there once during a limited time event and it was never brought up again.
- Kaeya is obviously incredibly important because he's one of the very few characters connected to Khaenri'ah. Showed up during Caribert but the whole thing felt like they wanted to get him off screen as soon as possible but the plot demanded for him to be there so they couldn't get rid of him entirely.
- Collei's story was mentioned by Tighnari once and was never elaborated on every again. Didn't even get any mentions of the Doctor from her when we met her while LITERALLY RUNNING AWAY FROM HIM AND HIS GOONS.
- Amber
The only exceptions seem to be Lynette and Xianling but for the ladder, Guoba got more than she ever did

Honestly, I think the whole point of the Crimison Moon scene was to show that even if the Traveler used all 5 elements- it would not be enough to beat Arrlechino. But honestly, it would've been more impactful if the Traveler actually used the elements against her and we saw them not having the intended effect before she pulled out the Moon.

during the boss fight with Arlecchino , if you got hit with her mark thingy 4 times you'll get an achievement.
The achievement is call "If You're Thirsty For Blood".
Interesting part is where the dev place this achievement, they put it in Challenger: Series IX , where you could get a special name card with Surtalogi's whale as a reward .
Just something to think about that's all.

On the topic of the commentary on the early part of the video, this is what irks me about Genshin cutscenes. RARELY do they ever use *specialized* abilities that are specific to characters, instead opting for sword-play and an infused weapon at best when attacking. And I mean yeah, it's okay. For the cutscene in which the traveler + fontaine trio fight Arlecchino it does make sense why they'd go for more blunt attacks rather than focusing on conjuring up elemental abilities, but for other cutscenes it's so frustrating because you get this character who in gameplay can do this and that, then come the cutscenes and at most they attack with their weapon.

The fact that the traveler doesn’t use any elements is ridiculous especially since Arlecchino who knows about our feats said that the traveler was stronger than she expected, implying that no elements traveler is stronger than both Childe and Signora, which is hilarious to me. I was also very unsurprised by Arlecchino knowing everything that was happening (she is the greatest intelligence gatherer in possibly all of Teyvat) although her catching the bird did surprise me. You brought up the ages of Arlecchino and the traveler which reminds me of the fact that the traveler is assumed to be a minor by many people yet is older than 99% of all humans in Teyvat, and quite possibly even older than Teyvat itself, at least the current post Primordial One arrival Teyvat. I’m very curious about project Stuzha because 4 Harbingers are involved. Wtf are the Fatui doing that is so big that 4 harbingers are needed? And when are we inevitably going to stop it or at least witness the consequences of it? What a great story quest though.

CN playerbase already hated Scara for him being mean to Nahida, they don't like "grey morality" characters at all.

I loved the trailer immediately being expanded upon by the story quest personally. When we saw Clervie in the story quest, I was immediately invested in what would happen, rather than "oh great another irrevelant npc setting us up for some tedious fetch quest". Probably saved a decent amount of device memory to exclude the video content from the trailer from the patch too.

There was a big avalanche of boulders that needed to be slowed or stopped right? So the traveller switched to geo to stop them. Now imagine the boulders are rolling downhill and the traveler is standing still and then in the next scene the boulders just stopped and we didn't see him use any elements to stop them that wouldn't make sense. Thats a least how I would explain it don't know if it was a good comparison though XD. Like with bosses it's expected the traveler would have to use them as opposed to a real time rock slide that we need to see how he'd stop.

I was so salty when I played the quest and knew everything beforehand like what was the plan? To leak the backstory so it is not enjoyable? I haven't even watched trailer cutscenes for like 2y now because they spoil EVERYTHING and it even makes the exploration not fun or that enjoyable anymore. I remember first time doing it with chasm and when I watched the trailer after finishing the main quests I still got spoiled some interesting bits I could've discovered on my own. But the animations were always just like, something extra, think of Tsubaki in thawing snow. Well, not anymore.
Also the fact we get a sliver of Arle's origin in TEXT in CHARACTER STORY where Pierro says "read a book" we already have from last patch, Idk with all that drip marketing and hype I think I expected something... idk, something not spoiled ahead of time at least. But the dynamics of the House of the Hearth were interesting to see at least. Remuria was also beautiful experience, can't ignore that.
Reminds me, what the f is up with the absolute vacuum in the new part of Sumeru coast? Walking through there felt the same as walking out of bounds xD. They might as well left it beyond the Paimon wall. Maybe instead of paying money for literal spoilers they could've added at least a second puzzle somewhere. The only hard copium I have is that the Khaenrian door is pointing exactly in the direction of this barren strip of land but who knows. Maybe that will be another thing spoiled in a trailer and an animation one day.

Tbf Traveler did have a LOT of help via Nahida hax during Scara fight. Now I may be overestimating Scara god mecha Evangelion mode, vut I think at the time we arrived he would have been at Arlecchino s level. It's not to much of a stretch to say the level difference just never was a clear as it is now. I estimate we saw no less than half of Arlecchinos true abilities. I'm also willing to throw down that Traveler won't break the power ceiling until they have all seven elements.
