Not only have they jumped big in price im not fan of the push button before you can unlatch; one side feels more natural but the there opposite you feel like you need flip your hand. Yes they also scratch real easily. Glass doesnt and glass is also flat doesnt bulge outward asking to get scratched. Now is glass have better thermal properties probably not but are you going to really notice in small space with heater going anyways and glass window off eBay say 200$ same size from TERN 750$
Also i dont know it the arm attachment is screw to frame or riveted, i have found rivets get sloppy over time

Probably would have been fair to mention the built in shades you receive with the window.

I have the CRL awning windows. Bought them because they look way better, but they do not come with enough support built into the frames. They made my wall floppy considering you have to remove a pillar support to install them. Wish they would have included a reinforcement bracket. The mechanism to open the window feels very cheap and fragile, to the point I probably won’t ever let anyone else operate them lol.
The Tern window appears to be better built, but looks-wise they stick out like a sore thumb. The built in shade is nice but would rather have them come tinted instead of clear. I prefer how they open and close, but overall can’t get over the looks.

I thought all Arctic tern windows come with built in screen and light-blocking shade? Or is that an option for other windows

That's an half assed review. Artic tern come with a built in shade and screen. The acrylic is also way more resistant to shattering than glass and dual pane makes it better insulated

Perhaps they have updated their product since I reviewed it. My units didn’t come with screens or shades.

@@SuperstructBuilds interesting. Also another advantage of dual pane windows like the artic tern is no condensation in the windows in colder climates. But the biggest disadventage is acrylic scratches

Can you drive with these open for airflow?

Unfortunatly, no. I think they would just flap around and probably damage the mechanisms.
