Honda has an impeccable ability to remove sponsorship hours before all of their investments become reality. Sometimes I don't know what they were thinking.
@@matmica2702 In becoming Brawn they became a different manufacturer, and when thet were bought by Mercedes changed again, else by that logic it would be still be Tyrrell
Super GT cars could be its own video but if we want to talk obnoxious really Super GT cars, may I suggest the Toyota Prius GT300. Built by official Toyota service techs that liked to race on their time off, this thing used the GT300 regs to its advantage. Those rules pretty much only stated that the engine had to come from the same manufacturer as the car and didn't specify where the engine. So these mechanics got there hands on 3.4 liter LMP1 engine out of the TS040 and put it where the rear seats/trunk should have been. The JAF "Mother" chassis was used and a "Prius" was built around it. In reality it only shared headlights, the badge, and the windshield with the road going version. Even the hybrid system was taken from a Camry. For 2019 the GT300 rules changed so that the cars had to share the same relative engine position with their road going counterpart, so the new Prius got a new front engined 5.4 liter v8 ripped straight out of the Lexus RC-F GT3. Again one of the wildest cars of all time.
I've seen pictures of the new Civic Super GT car before, but I just assumed it was for the GT300 class because, you know, it's a Civic. Now that I know it's the replacement for the NSX in the top class, I think we might have another obnoxious race car in the making, especially if it wins.
Back when honda were running their 2008 season their junior team super aguri already design their 2009 season for honda, including rough sketches of what would've been a double diffuser where the loophole was discovered by one of super aguri engineer, but sadly passed away before 2009 season started.
Phenomenal video, really loving this series as you shine lights on race cars and race series that aren't super well known on yt or covered, great work👍
Informative video. Thanks for posting. There was one of the Toyota GTP cars (AAR) in the Canepa museum in Scotts Valley. Fantastic design by Gurney and team.
Bought the team for £1 and sold for £100 million, you only see that ROI in Ponzi schemes!! I think a car that matches your definition for "obnoxious" is the Audi Quattro 90 IMSA GTO
