Pedro Pascal NAILED the role, he looks pretty much alike Joel and his acting is on cue… Now Bella (sorry not sorry) doesn’t look like the character AT ALL, her behavior ain’t like the one in the video game, and her facial characteristics are just bizarre looking… She is a weird looking lady.

Everyone else is either purposely race-swapped for political brownie points, or just arbitrarily different looking. i didn't enjoy her performance. Didn't enjoy the acting as she did not have the emotional depth of the original character, in my eyes. The game touched me emotionally and the series was lacking, in my opinion.

She was 16-17 when they were filming. So when they were criticising her looks in the show, they were just quite literally objectifying a child. Also, I don't think people should be bullied for their looks period. Celebrity or not. It's honestly disgusting how Bella was treated. I'm glad I finished high school before social media really started to pick up in the late 2000's/early 2010's. The amount of people (especially full-grown adults) who think it's funny or ok to be cruel to kids and teens is honestly mind-numbing. There's literally a 60-something pastor who lives in my county who spends his days online taunting people (many of whom are well under 21) he doesn't agree with and just being a complete a-hole to them for no reason. Back in the day, you could just stay off the internet for a while if you were getting targeted, but that's not really an option anymore. Everything's online now, so it's borderline impossible to avoid the internet constantly. And adolescents are super emotional and hormonal, so it's going to hit them much worse than it would hit a more rational adult. Also, who gets angry because a teenage character isn't attractive enough? That's a little "sus" as the kids say.

Bella is a legend for her portrayal of Ellie. She portrayed her with pure respect to the source material, and I am grateful that she was the one to play her. The legacy of Ellie’s character presents incredibly massive shoes to fill, so I have nothing but the utmost love and appreciation for her work on The Last of Us.

Haven't had breakfast yet except for coffee with oat milk... I'm considering having a greek yogurt with dried apricots, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts, almond slivers,craisins, dark chocolate chips, a tiny bit of granola and coconut shreds😋 (We live in a hotel right now and they offer these things for breakfast, they are for putting in the oatmeal..but I dont eat oatmeal so I scoop up some of each, put them together in a baggy as "trail mix" and sprinkle it in/on my yogurts!) Saying she's too ugly to play a character is fine. Ellie is a very standard looking white girl, the baseline, nothing weird about her appearance in any way. Bella Ramsay is not a monster, but the genuine gut-reaction is that she has some kind of chromosomal condition.
There is maybe only one decent casting choice in the entire show, Marlene. Everyone else is either purposely race-swapped for political brownie points, or just arbitrarily different looking.

It's honestly disgusting how Bella was treated. I'm glad I finished high school before social media really started to pick up in the late 2000's/early 2010's. As someone younger than her, I think Bella Ramsey is the most beautiful and attractive person I've ever seen. Before the Last Of Us , I knew her from playing Mildred in "The Worst Witch" and I absolutely loved the show mainly because of Bella. I stopped watching when they cast someone else (although I'm sure they did an amazing job). Seeing that one actor from my childhood resurface and be a part of such a cool show is absolutely astounding!

Besides, it seems to me that it shouldn't be a major factor in casting the role of a person so young. I had just seen a Reddit post the other day about the walking dead game asking why a character who is a minor isn’t “hot” enough. Bella Ramsey was one of my favorites in GoT and I think she played Ellie better than anyone could have played her. In fact her performance feels more true to the character than the original. I know that won’t be a popular opinion but seriously she’s insanely talented

I swear people chose the strangest things to be upset about. Bella is tremendously talented, age appropriate, and overall a great choice for the cast. Yes, sometimes the actor's look can be distracting, but in this case she's just suppose to play a random girl, so what's the problem?!?!

Outside of her immunity she's like every other girl, which the games made a point of showing (she has crushes, she gets scared, she can be brave and smart but she's just a girl. She's not a superhero, she simply is trying her best to do what's right). Hence why I believe Bella's looks are less important than her abilities to convey emotion and make the audience contact with Ellie and feel for her

(We live in a hotel right now and they offer these things for breakfast, they are for putting in the oatmeal..but I dont eat oatmeal so I scoop up some of each, put them together in a baggy as "trail mix" and sprinkle it in/on my yogurts!)

She’s meant to look like a regular teenager, and that’s what she looks like. I prefer to judge actors based on how well they can embody the character’s emotions and story, which she absolutely nailed. Seriously the goal of casting in an adaptation is not at all to just pick whoever looks the closest to the in-game character model…
