Yo! In the recent remasters of MGS2 and 3 for the Master Collection on PC, the melee/CQC button is bound to, yup, the H key... of all things. lol. What did you do Drew?!
H is reminiscent of the sound that comes from the word ‘Action’ ie Ak-Shon. So when he presses the akshon button it reminds his brain of the letter H. In addition to his brain processing other things, he probably has less space to remember the distinction, thats my theory.
this might be the result of a type of synesthesia that I have where you associate certains shapes/colors/numbers/letters with each other, like in my mind circles are a blue shape, regardless of how it's colored. 9 is a purple or dark blue number. I don't think I've associated shapes and letters, but I've independently related both of them to colors, but what's so odd is that it's JUST the square button in this case

I mean, capital H is kind of like a square with its top and bottom halves swapped around.

If you hold your thumb slightly over the square button, it turns into the bottom half of a capital H.
