Being a back marker at Williams whilst watching Albon succeed and Norris thrive at Torro Rosso and McLaren respectively in front of him
High risk high reward it seems. Once Russel makes the jump from Williams he'll be the number 2 driver from a top tier team.

The Second Coming this is true since Russell went to Williams when he moves out, replacing bottas at some point he will be in the top team where as Alexander Albon will be in red bull and lando Norris will still be in mclaren.
Considering he has beaten his teammate in every quali he is actually doing quite well in Williams.

I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a Mercedes seat sooner rather than later. Less pressure than Albon now that he's at Red Bull.

@Jurassic Mindset it's not just that, gasly also showed very bad qualyfing , Albon has been easly able to qualify in the top 6 and has showed Grest race pace, gasly just can't drive under pressure.

Watching this in 2022, I can say this was the golden generation. Alex, Lando and George all got the f1 seat!

here are the f2 rules
On Friday, drivers have a 45-minute free practice session and a 30-minute qualifying session. The qualifying session decides the grid order for Saturday's race which has a length of 180 kilometres (112 miles).
During Saturday's race (Feature Race), each driver must complete one compulsory pitstop and must use at least one set of each specification of dry-weather tyres.
Sunday's race (Sprint Race) is run over 120 kilometres (75 miles). The grid is decided by the Saturday result with top 8 being reversed, so the driver who finished 8th on Saturday will start from pole position and the winner will start from 8th place.
The exceptions to these rules are the Monaco and Budapest where the Feature Race is run over 140 km (87 miles) and 160 km (100 miles), respectively and the Monaco Sprint Race where the race is run over 100 km (60 miles).

@@forzaelite1248 Nah, not really. This year, RedBull-Renault was what McLaren-Honda used to be. The McLaren-Renault had not been the most reliable car, but much better than last year.
It's a new chassis and a new engine, we'll see what happens next season
@listen to my mixtape its fire especially in a spec-car series, it's sad when cars have reliability issues. and all the cars that can't start properly. spec cars shouldn't have any issues at all.
the mclaren-honda comparison was a exaggeration, but these cars are not where F3 cars or last year's F2 cars were in terms of reliability.

What I liked a lot was the engine sounds of the F2 cars.

The engine sounds are okay, but a little dull... I prefer the 2018 F1 sound over it by a lot
They sound like the f1 cars tbh, there both turbo v6 engines, they just font have the eletric unit
@@LogieT2K I think the hybrid part of the F1 power unit adds a nice flavour to the ICE. The exhaust note is pretty crazy because of the MGU-H. See ua-cam.com/video/AudEitGrFHA/v-deo.html
@@TomDeWeerdt1 The MGU-H actually mutes the engines and really makes them sound less interesting (though the hybrid components do improve the sound a bit). Personally I think the sound of current F2 engines are way better than that of current F1 engines, and last year's F2 engines were certainly far better than both.

Anti lag is banned right now since we have an MGU-H to keep the turbo spooled, but perhaps when it's gone in 2021 anti lag will be back.
And it cannot be putted on F1 cars, because the F2 cars are 2,2 liters + Anti lag banned
Honestly the best thing F2 could do for promotion is broadcast their races live on the F1 UA-cam channel. I would 100% watch them and I think 100’s of thousands of others would too

I'm late on this reply. But sky put highlights of every F2 race on their website a few hours after the race. Example Google; F2 Bahrain race 1 skysports 2019. Or change the year and track. And race number (they race twice a round; race 1 is feature race, race 2 is sprint) Theyre all there on sky's site. Just the suggestions aren't great and don't show the next race so you have to Google every race individually. Even though their labeled as highlights. It's essentially the whole race 🤙
Check the subreddit "motorsport replays" you'll find any f2 race you want
Russell embarrassed Norris this year. Crazy how little attention Russell will get next season which surely he will use to his advantage.
I mean Russel has been the more complete driver of the two this season but I wouldn't say that he embarrassed Norris. Admittedly he has quite a lot more points than Norris but he also wasn't as dominant as Vandoorne was for example. Norris still came second after all ;)
George has more experience having a year more of European F3 and GP3. Lando skipped GP3 and still competed for the title. If he'd gone in GP3 like Russell and Albon he'd have easily won it based on his F2 form and set him self up for an easy 2019 F2 championship.

Sgt Shredder579 I agree I think Norris has more attention because of his more impressive moves although these sometimes end in a collision however Russell is more controlling and dominant so Russell should do better in f1.
Norris said this season has been his worst ever and he came second still zak brown also said his mclaren tests were badly affecting his f2 races and he also even did daytona 2018 this year with alonso so thats why he lost and has more attention plus hes younger

Great that we're seeing proper F2 content on this channel. Often the races completely outperform the F1 races during the same weekend so it's nice to see some highlights of a great year. We need more of this - highlights of races next!

I knew F2 existed, but I never have had the chance to watch it. Wow, exciting engines, cars, and drivers. Bravo F2.
think it is so entertaining to watch Artem Markelov drive! He has been driving so mature the last two seasons, and in the same time very agressive. He may be able to improve at qualifying, but he masters the overtake so well. I hope he will stay in racing.

Very competitive grid. Top notch talents. Loved that the top 3 got into F1. Though Albon is not anymore. But I believe he'll be back. Talent like that doesn't just go away. Could have had more points and wins in his F2 season if it wasn't for the multiple DNFs he's had.
In F1 2019 they should think about adding something like junior series where you drive few races before joining F1 grid and team offers will depend on results you get
