Is an excellent car, on our 3rd.
Had a 1.6 136 CDTi manual and a 2.0 170 CDTi auto, both Elites and they were very good indeed. Would say the 170 was somewhat a disappointment vs the 1.6 136 as it was noisier and (probably care of the auto box) was barely faster.
Neither car was a Nav version so felt a bit old school tech wise, Bluetooth on the 2nd car was appaling. AGR seats probably the best seats of any car weve owned, just so comfortable and supportive.
Now have a 1.4T SRi Nav auto facelift and all round a far better car. Facelift freshens things up and resolves most of the issues with the backwards tech in the earlier cars, the 1.4 motor is super and the auto box mates with it really well. Its not fast, but its also not slow....very smooth, just suits the car very well and for me the sweet spot. A bit thirsty and doesnt destroy hills like a diesel being my only real complaints.
Couldnt stand the pano windscreen in the Elites so swore we wouldnt have another, the SRi has the Leather pack so has the leather heated AGR seats which is the main thing I wanted. The Nav system is pretty good and it drives brilliantly. Lack of auto lights and dimming mirror and also folding mirrors a bit of a disappointment but less to break I suppose.
This car replaced a 2017 S Max 210 TDCi Titanium Sport, itself a fantastic car but whilst it looked great, was pretty fast it was ridiculously expensive to run (ate brake discs, pads and front and rear tyres like you wouldnt believe, needed a 300 quid gearbox oil change every 36k miles, got nothing like the claimed MPG ever) I would have to say the Zaf is nicer to drive overall which is high praise. The Torque converter gearbox on the Zaf is alot smoother and far less lazy with its shifts and one thing I couldnt stand on the S Max despite handling well was its over assisted, 0 feel steering. Really spoiled the car IMHO.
Anyone that damns the Zaf with negative comments I dont personally understand it, is probably one of the best all round family daily drivers Vx made under GM ownership which is not something I thought I would ever say for it. I ended up with our first by chance after throwing a very faulty Mk7 GTD back at my fleet dept.....wanted to hate the Zaf but its so good I simply couldn't...is what has led me to buy the next two!
I have the Zafira tourer and it's just a great car for my family. Lot of space, comfortable and really cool to drive. And it's the last GM.

I kind of like it, but the zafira b looked less people carrier look, the VXR version was also awesome…
There is one benefit that is not discussed. when you fold the middle seat, you can easily climb in the back, and you can stretch your legs over that seat, making it the shortest 6 seater that is fully comfortable. Last great 6 seater vas Fiat Multipla, even though i looked like dog's dinner.
No, it was the Honda FRV and at least it looked good.
i've had 1 of these ( sri model ) since 2017 with the 1.4 140hp engine and loved every moment with her, unfortunetly it was on motability and as of 01/10/20, i have to replace her with a new car which i'm devastated about because every moment with the zafira has been a joy and pleasure, ( only difference from this vid is i had full leather interior )
Am I the only one who thinks about C4 Picasso when looking at the A pillar of this 2018 zafira? Does it have something to do with the recent acquisition by PSA?
The music is decent for normal user.
But I change a front speakers a tweeter on the dash..
Front door insulation, and connect them on amplifier and 12inch Subwoofer powered by the same amplifier in the trunk.
Result is Supersound. 🔊🎶

Says Ok sized glovebox, but the model we owned had a second glovebox above the silver partition on the passenger side of the dashboard...

Great review. V informative. Good to see that this reviewer is working on her delivery. Less annoyingly up and down, and better modulated. But not yet natural. Needs to speak as she would to friends; be more verbally intimate with the camera and less robotic.

The other thing you can do is turn it into a 4 seater saloon configuration,by putting the middle seats down and putting the sides of the middle seat up

A presume there are automatic versions? They would make sense on a car like this.
There are auto gear available
On higher trim level Zafira, second row middle seat can be transformed to a center armrest and, more importantly, the two outer seats can be then sliding not only backward but also inward towards the center armrest. It's called lounge seating system and giving extra arm support and extra shoulder room. This makes Zafira a much more comfortable car when transporting four adults! This feature is very unique, very useful and cannot be found on Touran, C4 Grand Picasso or Grand Scenic.
In terms of transmission, it's pointless to review a manual. People going for cheaper manuals simply don't care about shifting cripyness. But people going for automatic really want to know the smoothness and characteristics of shifting.

Needs a brand new update and look. Generally speaking you might as well grab a old one to save on finances as it’s still the same.

im sorry but the seats are fine, only if you are nit picking is it a problem for you are not walking or horse and cart days, you people seek to much from a car, they good cars and it has it all in one car, you can take lots of stuff in the car , you can load it and drive it on long journeys and is fantastic for family or space or if you simply need a car to do it all in one then the Zafira is a great car...

The only design model i have ever seen badged sri, probably cost cutting exercise being as they are so tight these days they can"t even afford a wallet to put the service book, or the handbook in.

The mistake Vauxhall made with the Original Zafira was the inability to either drop the back 5 seats into the body or remove them from the vehicle completely. The fact that after 20 years they still have not resolved this issue is mind boggling ? ( I own a 2004 Zafira).

We have just replaced our 2014 with an 2017, this after tested a Grandland X... We love this type of car, specially it's comfort, space and good looks. That's something that doesn't have to do with a certain year?

Top seller for 11 years and outclasses the horrid looking French cars and even the C Max. Things move on with the rush to buy SUV's, every other car on the road seems to be a Mokka X or a Quasquai
Poor build quality gearbox engine problems GM cannot make diesel engine. Best engine they had was the 1.7 Isuzu engine.
