+taqiy muhammad The narrator is an in-house HHMI narrator. The information in the animation was compiled with the help of HHMI investigator Joseph DeRisi and dengue virus researcher Eva Harris. You can find more info about them in the 2010 Holiday Lectures on Science, www.hhmi.org/biointeractive/viral-outbreak-science-emerging-disease -- you can use that lecture series, or our website, as a citation. Thanks!
I got DENV 1, lucky i didnt get the other 3. when i had DENV 1 i was terrified. knowing that if i will die or not. 3 weeks later i recovered from dengue. in the past 3 weeks the doctors need my blood sample to know how many platelets i have. i had 107. It dropped. But after that. i began eating things for dengue. My platelet increased to 127. And it increase and increase as i feel better.
The complication of dengue fever does not arrive on a single infection. Now that you are infected with 1 serotype of dengue fever(there are 4 serotypes), the next time you are infected with different serotype, your immune system may go into hyperdrive causing deadly complication of dengue fever. Platelet and wbc decrease even with normal viral infection and is not very specific for dengue.
I got all 4 of them and survived. Started as early as 2 years old, then my second was at 8 years old which was the worst one since my temperature was astronomical and my parents cried since they thought I was gonna die. Then my third one was at 13 it wasnt too bad and the last one was at 15 which was slightly less worse than the 2nd one but still pretty terrible.
I realized some thing about two July's ago about this virus. When I would show people skin issues they look at me weird or say things like you must be high or something.
My understanding is that, after an infection of one of the strains of dengue virus, a second infection from a different strain can lead to severe illness.
When there is formation of the virus-antibody complex, it triggers platelet aggregation. The aggregation is then cleared by the Reticuloendothelial system. When this happens continually, it results in thrombocytopenia (low thrombocytes/platelets in the peripheral blood) leading to bleeding tendencies. Hope this helped! :)
I do see that the audio level is low on this particular video. We're sorry about that. My only recommendation is that you can download this from our website and then use various utilities to boost the audio level. www.hhmi.org/biointeractive/dengue-virus-life-cycle
0:45 cognate receptor in the middle of the screen: woah! I’m dizzy at multiple atoms of my structure.
This. Is. Amazing.
I never thought viruses could work that way. Thank you.
Thank you for this! im a very visual learner and seem to understand explanations just by the word ive searched up
i realize I am kinda randomly asking but do anyone know of a good place to stream newly released movies online ?
My schoolmate died from dengue she is a girl Name Jasmine And She Is Grade 1 she is 7 I cried

Hii
Thx so much for this amazing video. It is difficult to visualize the different phases of the envelope protein from reading literature alone.
Glad it was helpful!
Stay safe and stay healthy all of you ❤️
I can't find who the speaker is or who directed this film. It's hard to cite your information.

@@gautamphulara6866u mean 2nd time dengue is more dangerous
That is crazy. It's so complex - like it was designed by an architect
Don't you think an actual architect would have made it simpler?
@@biointeractive I don't think an architect could create such complex structure, but maybe theres one that can
I mean like it's so crazy how it's made, to even think about it in the first place as well
Even view the explanation itself will make me already sick before the dengue fever happened. 😷🤒
dam I thought this video was about the Pay Day candy bar....
make me baby, this is amazing
How many hours it takes to complete a whole life cycle?
this video is very very helpful video
I realized some thing about two July's ago about this virus. When I would show people skin issues they look at me weird or say things like you must be high or something.
The enzymes and other chemicals do not stop this process
My Friends GF died from this virus, So I became curious on how this type of virus actually becomes from small to life threatening
My understanding is that, after an infection of one of the strains of dengue virus, a second infection from a different strain can lead to severe illness.
But why are platelets lowered in dengue infection
When there is formation of the virus-antibody complex, it triggers platelet aggregation. The aggregation is then cleared by the Reticuloendothelial system. When this happens continually, it results in thrombocytopenia (low thrombocytes/platelets in the peripheral blood) leading to bleeding tendencies. Hope this helped! :)
screen shot permission
And let me be your student teacher thanks for the knowledge teacher
Very good but pl increace your voice it would br more nice
Everything's fine in the video except for the sound
Too low? Too high? Other?
It's too low.
Thanks for the feedback--this is one of the videos we plan on re-narrating at which point we will improve the audio level.
I didn’t know that was super serious 😮😮😮😮😨😨😨😨😨😨😮 and how can we fight this NBA virus and try to stay alive
After having affected by dengue virus patient is advised to take fluids, rest, saline etc. Don't virus destroyed or what? If destroyed then how?
No they dont destroy the virus these are only temporary measures .....
lmao did you actually think that fluids and saline would actually destroy the virus?
The dingus virus!
Its like the protiens are living beings
Pretty much are, it's hard to draw the line as you go from this up, it's like a fractal where you see the same pattern ontop of the next.
My friend almost died from this
Yes
thank you :)
hi ,, i'm also arab n in the pharmaceutical domain so can i get to know u hhh
