The cost for this starts at around $300K. I’m working on a van at the moment and I am putting in a lot of upgrades like solar, water reclamation, lithium batteries, mini split, dishwasher, etc. so I know how much this all costs. After watching the video, the price for this unit is justified. This thing is absolutely packed with expensive gear. This doesn’t only provide off grid living. It provides it in serious comfort. And yes, with a huge budget you can do pretty much anything, but this guy thought of all of those things and he really did a brilliant job putting it all together.

    • @FritzyFreak
      @FritzyFreak Рік тому +25

I mean, cool? But why not make a baseline model that isnt so fany but still with the solar, water, etc to make off grid living possible while still making it affordable to the average person. 300k plus tax just isnt justified for what it is. It feels so pretentious saying we need this to switch off of fossil fuels but then have it out of reach price wise for a person looking to live without a carbon impact.

@@FritzyFreakI agree with you. I love the unit but it’s expensive and the amount of fossil fuels used to make every single thing in that unit is unthinkable. That should not be a selling point. At $300,000 a unit it may be what is not widely the system like can go astronomical. The question arises: who is this really built for? We all like to dream we all like to think we could find something like that would that would last forever. Put who in the world could afford it? My opinion we need to find solutions that will serve the larger population and not only the. And by the way with the current climate forecasts even if you have a you may have trouble finding food, companions, and relief from the intense heat and cold that is already defeating our industries and the vast majority of people on the Earth could you not have $300,000 to spend on a bus. Just saying: it's cute it's phenomenal x extraordinary and beautifully designed. Look for whom and for how long? It's a nice dream and a beautiful piece of work. But please tell me in 10 years where will I go for for spare parts? 🤔

I am totally fascinated! I love the sustainability of this unit, and the fact that it's designed to be a full-time home. I wish RV manufacturers would design with idea that their product is/could be a full-time home. For me, a toy hauler is a full-time home, and there are things I would change at the construction level if I could.
There are so many good ideas packed into this unit. It's done so carefully and with great thought.
I'd never be able to afford this, but if I could, this would be the home in which I would invest.
I like the finishes. there's no reason one can't decorate to incorporate color and personal touches. That's something that's always doable.
For personal practicality I would want:
    A. regular electric stove burners as my cookware is glass, and I'm not willing to replace it with metal.
    B. I'd prefer a smaller fridge with maybe a cabinet or shelf over it. Since I live alone I find that if the fridge is on the larger side I end up using a shelf to store non grocery items in it just to make use of the space.
The mini split is gorgeous and blends in so well.
Using the solar panels as overhangs/awnings is brilliant.
    The sound system is stellar.
I think my very favorite feature is the island. Is it counter height? It's such a great work station.
I may have missed the size details of this home. What are the length, width and total sq footage measurements?
Thank you, so much, for this incredible tour! 💗

And I am thinking all the products you use are light weight for towing as well. It is beautiful, looks easy to clean (my favorite) and practical for daily use. I am sure many "trust fund kids" will buy these to be hip and cool. It would be lovely if you could bring that price down to the working folks price range. I also really like the way the solar is used off the sides of the RV for a little shade. Dual purpose is the way to go. My rating ***** Thank you!

The only issue I see as a draw back for sales, is not everyone likes the sleek modern look, some love bohemian, farmhouse, rustic & so many other esthetics so if he could come up with ways to incorporate other esthetics & bring costs down I see his tiny living house taking over the industry. Love this guy too! He’s an amazing pioneer for future living on wheels. He clearly put in a lot of thought to design & built the best home on wheels. This is a long time coming. I’ve seen big trailers that cost over a million dollars, and I would choose this one over any, and I’ve seen hundreds, if not thousands. At 81 years old, living on Social Security, unless I win the lottery, I’ll never be able to own one of these, but maybe in the next life. Amazing. We're about 2 years or so away from purchasing something, I saw this and I immediately knew that if this exists, the other stuff like Winnebago or Brinkley or Grand Design - they're all the same 80 year old design mindset. This is actually something that makes so much sense. When not using it - deploy in your driveway and power your house and send excess power back to the grid for $$$.

That thing is Rad! Great explanation of all of the features. I'm sure a wind powered generator could be added for additional energy creation.

Reeeally glossed over the water reclamation, which has to be the coolest part of this build.

I thought of slide out solar panels years ago. So cool to see someone put it on a sustainable design. I hope I can build a much smaller version one day to travel.

Recomend adding a verticle wind turbine.
The wind is usually blowing when it's not sunny.
    Great job!

This is an impressive trailer. I’ve seen it featured before on Kirsten Dirksen UA-cam channel. It showed how he makes water out of air. The price I think is around half a million dollars. Definitely not for the average person.

Blown away! He read our minds! 5 ⭐️ stars and following them. Thanks for touring it THT! My only question… does the battery compartment have a waterproof seal so if liquids spill in the kitchen, it doesn’t leak into the most expensive area. I’m sure he thought of that. This man is brilliant and only experience teaches you all this. Hope his neck stops giving him fits. Thanks!

I’ve seen this in person. It’s fantastic. The trailer is 300K but it’s worth all 300K. The only other drawback is that it’s heavy but that has a lot to do with the high build quality.

Question, when everything, that makes your unit function is on, do you have to have a generator on or does a battery work everything? if so, does that make noise constantly? I hope you can understand what I am trying to ask. I know nothing about all of this. Not that I'll ever have one. This is only for You guys. Most people can't live in a tiny home that started off affordable but now is not. Thank you.
