You know, I think Murayama created the best plot ever when he decided the True Runes would change the fate of the normal people in his stories, not for the good sense, like being a superhero, but more like the questions of why being the chosen one, or the tragedy of it. The only game that showed it. Take it easy.

First ever rpg game I played. I was 8 years old back then. Still a gamer now. I didn’t get to finish this game back then coz I was dumb as a kid and couldn’t get past a certain boss, but now I am playing it again and I’m hooked. I want to finish it this time. I’m into games with really good graphics now but I still get goosebumps playing this one.

It's an incredible story... it got chided at the time for It's graphics and battle mechanics but the story is heart wrenching and it's such an amazing adventure. It was 2 decades later re-evaluated and ranked as one of the best stories ever told..

Dude, the second song reminiscence. I am absolutely blown away at how nostalgic that soundtrack made me feel. I never cry, but that song broke my heart strings that I got teary heart because of how far it brought me back. If a game can do this to you, you know its an absolute classical masterpiece. I am completely surrendering my wallet to the remaster and awaiting in high anticipation when it releases ❤️

i was really sad when i first time playing this game. i play without a walkthrough and not gather all the star of destiny character. and in the last battle with jowy i cried because i must kill him and ended the war. i though this was a sad rpg. i didnt know if theres a true ending where jowy and nanami alive :'(
There is. Gather all 108 Stars of Destiny, find Jowy where it all began, and when fighting him, keep in mind what the Bright Shield rune is all about - forgiveness, protection and defense (so, don't attack at all).
March 6th 2025, I can only hope the younger generation gets to appreciate this game the same way we did. Murayama shaped my childhood, I hope he rests easy.
To me shu will always be the coolest character, I tried to live my life like that. One day I'll be a wealthy trader chilling in a town and be called for great service one day.......... yeah right 😊
I played this from like 13 to 15 years old. 1 and 2 helped improve my english a lot. Spanish its my first language. I wanted to understand the story. I played it multiple times to try different dishes on the cooking contests, get more stars, alternate endings and just get lost for hours in this world. It was a magical time for me. Just to get out of school and play this until 3 am. This is a masterpiece.

Inget banget beli PSX ditahun 1998 dan boleh milih 5 CD game gratis.. dulu random ambil nya : PES/WE, Harvest Moon dan Suikoden 2 yang aku ingat, 2 lagi lupa.. Jadi Suikoden 2 dulu maen baru yang ke-1 --> seru (karena bisa recruit 108 star), politik nya dapet banget, mini games nya juga menarik, gameplay unik (S, M, L) 2 baris 6 char, dan yang bikin seru 1 Dunia dan char nya bisa bertambah umur dan nyambung ke game berikutnya. Urutan the best : Suikoden 2, 1, 3, 5 & 4. (versi saya)
Suikoden 2 is amazing! Everything from the music, story, characters, gameplay, visuals. dialogue. Just everything. But I wish they'd make a remake and add one or two campaigns before taking L'Renouille and expand on Highland a little bit. Still, it's my favorite game of all time.

I’m 32. This was one of my first RPGs I laid my hands on. Til this day, it’s my all time favorite.
Somewhere, in an alternative universe, Suikoden 2 has taken its rightful place above the Final Fantasy games of its time...
