Slowest president in modern US history. People in the Midwest, get ready for higher gas prices. America relies heavily on Canadian oil. We better hope to God he doesn't include oil in these stupid ass taxes on the American people
We don’t actually buy that much Canadian oil. Actually Canada buys much much much more of our oil. Also, trump will likely drill more then any point in history. I highly doubt gas prices go up, I’d be actually really surprised if it didn’t go down
IMAGINE HOW STRONG OUR COUNTRY WOULD BE IF PRESIDENTS SPENT THEIR DAYS WORKING FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED THEM INSTEAD OF THE BILLIONAIRES WHO BUY THEM.
The reason Trump is doing Tariffs has nothing to do with immigration or drug cartels. He needs the revenue to pay for tax cuts for rich people. Tariffs effectively tax everyone equally meaning if you are poor the burden of cost is greater. That is why US tax policy is progressive meaning if you make more money, you get taxed at a higher rate. Trump wants to end this by using tariffs as a regressive tax for all increasing the tax burden on poorer people. This will farther increase wealth inequality and the mass of people will eventually revolt.
Kind of disappointed how America first means everyone else suffers. I’m from Canada so I understand your need for a change in thinking at the government level after that leftist lunacy, but I regret feeling that all the focus should be on Ukraine and Russia… your military industrial complex was almost always competing and always a step ahead of Russia, and now that millions have died at a tyrannical regimes use of aggression and disregard for human life to justify the attack on Ukraine. , many former ussr client states and now sovereign countries themselves all choose democracy. America was born on a mindset and a set of ideals mixed with tragedy and bloodshed and you’ve gone to war for it time and time again. If Ukraine falls, money and weapons to protect the free world seems not too costly compared to American lives. There’s a clear enemy in americas face and you choose to look away. Freedom isn’t free but it’s always worth fighting for.
@@AnthonyJames-ew9nvWHAT business school taught you that? Hoover took over in March of 1929 (administrations used to start in March instead of January like they do now). Hoover caused the problem when he gave a speech on April 16th of 1929,where he threatened Europe and the Japanese with the Fordney-McCumber Act of 1922, which gave presidents the right to impose tariffs up to 50% WITHOUT Congressional approval. Then in May of 1929, the House passed their version of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act, and the Europeans and Japanese didn't wait for the Senate to pass their version, and started boycotting American goods. That led to the "irrational exuberance" of people believing tariffs would work, the market hit an all time high in September, and then the markets crashed in October of 1929 when the boycotts took effect. Smoot hawley was signed by Hoover when the Senate passed their version in 1930, extending the down turn for 25 YEARS UNTIL Eisenhower fixed it in 1954.WHERE did you get your Economics degree?
And you do realize YOU will be paying that 25% don't you? If trump thinks he can do the same thing Hoover did and end up with a different result, he's nuts.
Justin Wolfers is a no-skin-in-the-game economist. Why don't you talk to actual business people with an economic degree. I'm sick of listening to these armchair experts with NO real world experience.
Nice episode, keep up the good work 🏁

Trump is lowering corporate tax Not individual taxes!

Hoovers biggest problem wasn’t tariffs lol it was a failure of understanding public spending and how it affects the market

You can listen to earnings call and if you think tariffs are good, CEOs disagree with you
what did he say exactly that you didn't agree with?
can you pls explain how tariffs are going to lower prices for ordinary Americans?
