    530e g30 has a problem with mains power too low. After checking the obvious wall charger or bmw charger you come to the realisation that the fault is not in the infrastructure but in your bmw charging port. The control unit that looks after the bmw hybrid charging goes wrong sometimes and here is how we fix the no charging problem.

    Hello! just the day before yesterday I experienced the same thing. the diagnosis says that the kle is broken. before I change it I would like to know where this ground cable is located, and possibly can the old unit be repaired? does it have inside fuses that can be changed?

      Theres a company in Norway that repairs them but I have no idea the name. The ground is just for safety and the idea is to repair or replace it before the KLE fails. Unfortunately the KLE is crap and fails for many reasons. You need a new KLE or find a repairer.

      @@allmech_BMW_fault_finding I think is a factory weak crap. Also, charging current need to be about 6-8 A to keep it alive.

    I would like to have an opinion on this matter,
    Model BMW 530e 2017 7.4kw/h net battery capacity,
    In February 2024 was diagnosed with two bad cells, number 3 and 2. BMW service(Italy) decided to replace the two bad cell with two newer ones. Total cost was around 2k € and a 2 year warranty.
    Now when I fully charge the car it shows to charge around 8.5 or 8.8 kw/h. How is it even possibile? When I got the car new it was showing maximum 7.7kw/h. Before February it was charging around 5.2kwh.
    My question is, how it’s possible to have a bigger battery capacity from just two newer cell?

      Because your new cells were balanced to the old ones and overall the kw output has slightly increased.
      Also as battery cells evolve newer production cells are far better than in 2017.

    I have bmw 330e 2022 that have 4:57 a code high voltage battery crash masege serius crash and the other one is high voltage battery swich contractor,swich of after A permanent ? I can help me with this ?

    I had same problem with my 2018 530e. Those KLE are garbage

      I agree. We tore a few down to see if we could fix them and we could not. I dare say someone out there can maybe repair them 🤷‍♂️

    Hi, I have 18’ 530e. There’s a high pitch when in ev mode only in drive/reverse. Is this sound normal. (It’s not the Acoustic pedestrian protection sound)

      It may be a fault in the transmission since it has a motor and generator in there all connected with a separator clutch. Without hearing though, I have no idea. Could be the motor bearings if it only does it in ev mode🤷‍♂️

    hello,i have "unable to charge error", i change the kle with a new unit and the error persist but the car is charge and run perfect. When the car is connected to wall charger the error is gone.

      And did you encode the new KLE? You cant just plug and play.

    I just got similar error. Except it’s “unable to charge” instead of “power too low”. BMW diagnostics say it’s the Aux Heater. Another effect is the cabin heater not working so makes sense.
    Is the aux heater a coding job too or plug and play, do you know?

      The auxilliary heater is HV so if theres a bonding issue flagged, for safety in such cases the HV battery charging would be prohibited. It requires no coding but NO WAY should anyone other than a trained HV tech do that job. Even with the safety contacts released I am always wary and wear my 1000V gloves and mask. You get one chance with high voltage!
      Labour time is not much for that job so find an independant if you find Bmw dealer price too much.
      I think 2 hours labour would be enough. Hope this helps.

      @keithcarney1097 Not sure about the cost of the part but I know it aint cheap. I think a good independant would be a bit cheaper in my opinion. Try here www.lllparts.co.uk/catalogs or www.hubauer-shop.de/en/carparts/ lots of alternatives then you can buy the part and see if an indy mech will fit it.

    Hello sir
    I’ve got a bmw 530e 2018 phev
    The car was written off with a minor damage but airbag deployed.
    The car starts but it won’t charge the 12v battery and after few minutes of running it will go off .
    Please can you tell me what could be the problem ?
    Is it the safety box inside the battery pack or could be something else?

      @@ajmalbegzad4558 Your answer is in the fault codes. Once a crash message is stored in ASCM all units on CAN receive this message. ASCM needs to have crash message erased.
      High Voltage lines need to be checked. Any insulation faults means new cables.

      @abiabs-fx4rc Inverter is in the EME. If you mean this the KLE then it is possible to encode a used KLE but not an EME as they are security protected.
