    looks like some of the timing of the subtitles and picture in picture got a bit off during the upload to UA-cam, sorry about that

    ❤In the event of repairing the hybrid battery of the 2020 E530, does the car need programming after maintenance or not? Thank you very much.❤

    Helllo!Thanks for your explanation. I have BMW 530 e with 9 kwt battery back. Can I replaced it with 12 kwt pack. It will fit to old space or not. And what about managing unit.

    Hey thanks, that was a good video, so without opening the battery box, there is no way of checking of you've got a good one?

    • @Good-Enuff-Garage
      @Good-Enuff-Garage  Рік тому +1

      Correct, there are three ways to measure the voltage and all require the lid to be removed, cause we can't get through the BMW OEM master BMS box which sits directly behind that external plug
      1. Multimeter directly to the leads from module 1 and module 6
      2. SimpBMS, ua-cam.com/video/PbGWhILUdbU/v-deo.html
      3. Sbox code (this video)

      If it's in the car you can check it with ISTA+. The ISTA output files even tells the voltages of each cells.

    Great Video, your video states getting the safety box code then goes off, do you know how to get it? Thank you

      @@Good-Enuff-Garage Hi it may be my mistake, at 33.47 it states in writing now to get this code onto this bad boy! I thought you meant you were going to do another video where you do the AOS procedure some how and get the 12 digit code so you can use the battery pack in the car again?

  • @hobbsytoob
    @hobbsytoob Рік тому +1

    Do you know if the safety box can still be used if reconfiguring the pack for a lower voltage, for example taking the 6 packs and instead of being 6s being 2s3p to give 130V approx when charged?

    • @Good-Enuff-Garage
      @Good-Enuff-Garage  Рік тому +1

      i think so since we dont use it to its full capability all we do is close and open the two large contactors in it and the pre charge relay, the other components in there are a current shunt and a resistor so you would just use software to close them when you want or at a pre charged voltage you tell it to

    Hello, I have a problem with a BMW G30 530e hybrid, the car was damaged, the pyrotechnic charges were replaced, I connected the computer to unlock the charging, but it doesn't work and there is a fault code, an error in the electrical circuit, can you tell me what is damaged?

    • @Good-Enuff-Garage
      @Good-Enuff-Garage  7 місяців тому

      sorry not a clue, I am not a fan of hybrid cars I just use their batteries, they are way too complex, there is no need to have a gasoline engine and an electric motor in the same car, sorry mate, plus BMWs are super expensive to maintain and repair

    Little knowledge is dangerous , showing pack voltage of 300+ V but the multimeter looks cheap and probably not the correct CAT rating which can allow transisent voltages to move over the meter and with bare hands, total hero.. you should attend some training first before attempting working on or near live voltages and espically DC.

    • @Good-Enuff-Garage

      I had that cheap volt meter for 30 years and worked on about a dozen homes with it

    My advice would be seek proper training and correct equipment even though you may of got away with it , it will only take one mistake espically with DC Voltages will hold on a cook you inside out. While I am sure for the DIE HARDS then ignorance will be bliss or not . Good luck spinning that wheel. I would prefer the correct knowledge from people who know the industry and also why certain equipment is used for certain test this highlights inadequate knowledge on something that looks straight forward. Clearly from you response you are unaware of which CAT meter you need.... I would suggest CAT III minimum but CAT IV if you can afford and wish to remain here longer
