Andrew treated this cast as if it were their fault his show was not good. The music is weird and doesn't work and he has too large of an ego to admit that so he blamed talented people for doing their best with sub-par materials.

Damn this musical could have been good, but I don't think it works with ALW composing. It seems like a rip off of the sass in Heather's, the Britishness of Six (west end version obviously), and the weirdness of Great Comet.
The only thing I’ll give this show is that some of the songs on their own and out of context such as “Far too late” are vocally wonderful and instrumentally pleasant, and of course the actors carry them and the production itself, hence why Andrew hated them all so much.
I feel like this could’ve been a good musical if they had just made the right changes to the story rather than just making changes to the cast and costumes. And I’m sorry, I know it’s a musical, but there are WAY too many songs in it that either go too fast or go too long.
