  • Working in the onion fields around Mathana village of Haryana’s Kurukshetra district, many women labourers say they don’t know who their Lok Sabha poll candidates are. For them, all that matters is how they will be able to earn enough wages to ensure their children don’t sleep on an empty stomach.
What bothers them are rising prices and their husbands spending all their savings on liquor. They also claim they haven’t got the benefits of most welfare schemes launched by the Narendra Modi government, from those linked to subsidised housing to cooking gas.
“Inflation is very high. The family is managing somehow. Sometimes my husband goes hungry,” says Somana.
Soni Devi, meanwhile, complains of hunger. “Five kilograms of ration is available..but who will eat millet in this heat?”

So it would be 20k/month? 20k/month is the salary of a lot of people working in the lower tiers of a IT service companies in cities.
Will anyone hire onion pickers for 20k/month? Do you think this is realistic? How many jobs will be lost? Will you blame the government for unemployment then? Or will you ask for salary+benefits?

@@meerkats9317 Actually, BJP govt khud says it should be around 400. That's not easy but doable in villages because of lower costof living compared to cities.

@@meerkats9317the fact some professionals get that dismal a pay is the problem. I recently found out that a 12th pass can fer about 23k working in a mall. In 2021, I got an offer as an assistant professor for 25k.
      That's just insulting.
So, yes, original poster thoda jyada bol gaya, but aapki argument absolutely senseless hai. Just because some places treat IT professionals like crap doesn't justify we treat everyone in the country like crap.

well, as far as IT is concern they can work as freelancers, they can earn in $$$ but for those who work as labourers there should be some good amount atleast..

@@simransimran9339 400 is more feasible but I wouldn't count on the government to enforce it. Take it more as a jumla.
My point was, if the business owner does not see a reasonable amount of profit because a lot of money was spent on employee salaries he will choose not to do business. If he doesn't do business the people who are otherwise employed under him now would be unemployed.
Indian IT services only work because we offer to do the work much cheaper for our foreign clients than IT services of their own country. Yes corners are cut in the work. But we significantly outbid them for the project. Now start paying employees more and see what happens. We can no longer significantly outbid our competitors who provide better service since quality of labour and management is better for them. Less projects mean less money and profits. And then companies will start hiring less.

Haryana mein sharab ke baare sarkar kuch na kare. Har party incentive mein sharabi distribute karti hai.
Also, interesting fact, log kehte hai haryana 100% electricity wala state hai but we have a lor of power cuts and have the most expensive electricity per unit in India.
