- Episode 7 • Outer Wheel Tub
In this video, we continue fabrication on Denny's 69 Chevrolet Corvair. Scott starts making the outer rear wheel tubs. This car will be getting a brand new Nelson Racing twin-turbo LS V8 and it'll be moved up front. This car will sit on a custom Roadster Shop chassis with massive 6-piston Brembo brakes. It'll also be getting tons of metal fabrication, custom interior, custom wheels, and so much more. Make sure to follow this build closely, it'll be a wild one!

I don't find any of these videos boring ... always look forward to them ...
Never Boring, Never Long! Just glad to be able to see the process.
Scott! You are making what I have wanted to do since the middle 1970’s when the BMW 3.5 CSL ran in IMSA! This car is so much of a similar car to the later built BMW! I just wish that GM produced the SOHC cam motor, that was in the 1970 GM show car!
There's a lot of different types of car guys watching YT. The ones who understand fabrication, and admire the knowledge and detail involved in an authentic restoration/restomod, gravitate twards this content. Keep doing what your doing!
I appreciate that!
Well, if anyone can't appreciate the time and craftsmanship that goes into high end sheetmetal work, this is not the right channel for them. It makes you appreciate the end product more.
Are you kidding, having the “Michelangelo of Metal” explain the process of creating a masterpiece is Gold. Keep feeding him candy is all I ask.
That looks so cool. When it's done it's gonna look like a wide body 69 Corvair was an *option* you could get!
Damn!! I could only wish to have the skills these guys have. Great video as usual.
So satisfying to see a real craftsman creating something incredible. That Corvair is going to be insane!!
Metal work at its finest from a master craftsman, I always look forward to seeing Scot work.
Thank you for sharing these videos, the best on YT 👍💪
Glad you like them!
I love watching your work you a so talented bunch of guys it’s a pleasure watching you work
Not long, & definitely not boring. Thanks for bringing us along
This guy is giving many years of experience and on top of that showing and taking time to show you how and why. Never boring, twizzlers is keep this man young and youthful
Once again the artist works the canvas to bring the finished picture into prospective so when it's all completed your mind explodes with the creation of expression that has been performed as you watch, listen and learn the correct way to do quality work and craftsmanship which is a lost art for many but still done only by the skillful and the best artists. You guys are the best I've seen by far thank you. I've enjoyed every minute of the videos.
Good night that thing is insane. Can't wait to see the next update
i love how you actually explain what each step of the process is for
This Corvair project and Scott never fail to impress. His skills are insane or it's some kind of Vudoo HooDoo Black Magic. These are by far the best project documentary videos that I have ever seen.
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching! 👍
The art of fabrication is a wonderful thing it relaxes me because at the end of it all it's one of one !!!!
I have been waiting for the update on this car can't wait to check what you got
great to see awesome tin knockers working at their craft
I now understand how to right the wrongs I have been trying to tweak. Appreciate your time and effort to show us the whole process. Thanks
Glad to help
What mastery of steel, your constructions are extraordinary. This Corvair will be a unique piece and a killer in the history of Kustom!
Very educative, i like that your taking ur time to do it right. Shows that this is quality work. Looking forward to the next one.
This is a real WIDE BODY when the floors are extended to the wheel tubs😮❤
Incredible craftsman
There is so much I like about this video. Not only the craftsmanship of metal working & vintage cars but the collection of vintage BMX bikes hanging on the wall. I would love to see a video just about the bikes on the wall. I collect vintage BMX myself. I have 7 BMX bikes including the very first high end BMX Freestyle bike I had from 1986 a GT Pro Performer in bubble gum pink. I built the bike myself all from hand selected parts avail. starting with a frame and fork that was a birthday present from my mom. It has a pair of very rare Purple OGK wheels. I worked two news paper routes and part time in a local bike shop weekends to buy the parts to complete the bike. Mom & Dad would also help some along the way with the build by giving parts as Christmas presents, Birthdays ect. In 1986 $800 for a bicycle was very expensive especially when a huffy could be bought for $100. I was always very protective of this bike since i worked so hard to get it. I would keep it in my bedroom when I wasn't using it. It would have killed me to have my bike stolen.
Cool video I like the way he explains how it supposed to work out and how much time it takes to build it.
Awesome work! A true craftsman! The metal work isn't bad either, LOL! Keep it up!
So great to see the iterative nature of dialing in each piece, thanks!
A thousand years ago you would have been sculpting rock into masterpieces !
Fantastic video once again......and people can finally see why the best of the best cost money!
More amazing craftsmanship you guys are always killing it can’t wait for the next content
Really good description and explanation of the work and pieces you are making.👍
Glad you liked it!
I really appreciate this Man's hard work and time into fabrication. Believe it or not, you do not find a whole lot of people fabricating metal the way this Gentleman is doing.
Been looking for all the fender flare videos I can find. this is a really good one. You guys are truly blessed to to have the talent and the success in doing what you love.
Incredible!
Another great insight to what is involved in the metal work of high end builds,Scott the metal whisperer thanks for the insight, love it .enjoyed every bit 🇦🇺🦘
It's looking awesome! I had. a 65 Corsa when I was in high school, wish I would've held on to it, they are a beautifully designed car, you can't help but look at them, really love watching the build with all the work being done to it, class act for sure
Boring? This is art and art is never boring 🤘
Hey he's not boring he's having fun
Looking forward to the build ...
There's no way this build is boring, or confusing.
I'm loving watching every step of this project, (just like all other CCS projects) and can't wait to eventually see the finished car 👍🏻👌🏻
Amazing content and I absolutely get the point that folks don’t see the half of what goes in to making a one off hot rod such as this !
You sir are a true craftsman, who knows what you are talking about. These inner structures are the skeleton of the car. The fancy outside is just the skin! NOTHING about this video is boring!
I can't wait until Classic Car Studio releases another video. I love the content.
Lots more to come! Make sure you’re subscribed. 👍
We love all the build info
Look forward to each video. Great craftsmanship on perfect platform. Built a wide body 65 turbo back in the seventies; nothing like this. Still own a 65 140. This project is my dream car.
Thank you for your time and wisdom. I really appreciate and enjoyed this thoroughly.
Outstanding Video and the metal work , a piece of Art in the Making... Enjoying the hell out of this , You guys are a Fine piece of Work , Had a little idea of what you had to do to make what you do ..Love the way it flows from your mind to the Metal... I'm Totally Impressed with the fine craftsmanship ..I salute you guys with a Beer 👌👍🥇🏆🍻
Nice work. Always enjoy seeing behind the scenes. Truly makes one appreciate the builds even more. Great job.

The fabrication is the cool stuff
Thank you for your time in making this
I like these UA-cam videos A LOT better than the show because of this stuff right here! Brilliant!
Awesome work. Very inspiring. Thank you for sharing...from South AFRICA
Matt's off-road recovery would love this car.
Great channel. Let him know! 😜
Great skills such a pleasure to watch these videos, Thanks.
Boring? I’d watch these videos even if they were twice/three times as long. Usually can’t wait till the next one comes out. Master of your craft. Thanks for the lessons.
Absolutely loving this build gentleman, keep up the amazing work and thanks for the uploads.
Master craftsman at work awesome
Amazing transformation
BORING? NFW! These videos provide a rare insight how high dollar cars are built, please keep them coming ! It makes my day when I see a new video is posted .
I really appreciate you showing how you get there
I miss this show. The metal work was great raw art to see.
sick build. nice craftsmanship and explaining during the process. I'll be watching this build come together. I have a Karmann ghia I want to start building for a personal project.
Amazing job
He’s thinks this is boring to us? Nah man, you are a magician with that metal. I love it. You don’t even have to speak. Just cut stretch hammer weld repeat. I love it. This corvair is insane
BORING?? NAH, This is how LEGIT DREAM CARS ARE BUILT 😎👍🇺🇸
gonna be one sick ride. love your work 😍
I think it looks great with the flares like they are now.
This dude could have been the stunt double in the movie training day the guy they shoot an steal his money he even sounds like him go watch if you haven't seen classic movie this channel is awesome dudes are so skilled
That's the content I watch it for
Thanks!
Looks great 👍
thanks for explaining each step, and sharing your experience. I'm a hopeless sweet-tarts junkie, yo!! beats the shit i used to put in my system, Keep it gangster bruh.
Awesome as always 👍
loved it, also those wheels......damm
If you understand what it takes to fabricate a project of this proportion, none of it's boring. Every piece is important in order to obtain your main goal, and to be done right. Great work takes longer
Make them an hour and we will watch!
just as it should have been!
I love this
As always, an amazing job! I've been watching you for a long time and every time your work impresses! Tell me, what kind of wheels do you use in this assembly?
I remember my friend's car the floor pan and tunnel would pop
Having the big tools helps.
❤
Gosto dos videos, mas o ruim q nunca se v a conclusão do trabalho, um abraço.
We’re still building this one. These high level builds take a long time to complete.
I don't see you using cleco metal fasteners, they are GREAT for sheet metal fabrication
Fantastic looking build so far, very skilled work
Mark and a few other guys in the shop use them, for whatever reason Scott prefers screws.
Boring? What? He’s talking crazy talk.
If he thinks that they're boring something is wrong?
Yeah, I love the work and the sharing of a true craftsman.
All you had to say is that you're too dumb to understand the process, and that's not his fault.
Brooooo that's my 1st thought.....I'm in trade class n he's my instructor
👍🏼
Old car but have Twin turbo
👍
Could you imagine going to work with a hangover knowing that hammering machine was waiting for you?😢
🤣 Actually it's not nearly as bad as the planishing hammer. That thing is small and unassuming but you can hear all the way in the offices. It's the whole reason the fab area is walled off where the garage door is.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Can I get a set of those wheels ?
Will you just put it on rally sports the way they look the best.
Cleco’s work faster than screws.
Wait.. what.. you got your front and rear mixed up!! That engine is in the wrong hole!! Jk. Good looking build.
Got a good laugh out of that wrong hole bit, almost made my beer come out my nose 😂
Glad I could help.
Covair with engine in the front is a Camvette 😂😂😂 Camero/Corvette but im claiming this as my favorite hand built corvair. I dont like the stock one.
