And I’ve known several people who told me that a plant-based diet “can’t work” for them because of an iron shortage, but who then tried it again with input from me, and from that point onwards it all worked out great. endophyte prokaryotic microorganisms in vascular systems of plants exist, not just on the surface of roots, branches and leaves, which is the reason why some plants were rotting from interior with no external damage. seeds are germinated by microbes inside, not just from outside surface. reminded me of a study when researchers verified quantities of bioavailable cobalamin B12 in wild springwater and found approximately 2 micrograms per liter, and up to 4 micrograms in a few ounces of whole grains. i encountered some people who followed a plantbased diet for multiple years not using the supplement and had it at home just in case they require it while doing annually a blood test at a medical clinic to verify cobalamin levels and each time it was in normal range. tap water might have less cobalamin because of filters which trap minerals and other substances from leaking through

@@ScheveSneeuwSchuifSchep He says it helps remove heavy metals from the body but also boosts the immune system and reduces inflammation. People with auto immune disorders shouldn't take it as it can trigger an unhelpful response. It can also be used topically for skin conditions. @@beckywood6612 I can find some research on NCBI Pubmed that suggest that some of that may be true but not too much. However, as it is something that is directly sourced from the earth, it is often contaminated with heavy metals. So unless you get it tested for heavy metal levels you don't know if you're helping the body get rid of heavy metals or you are instead increasing your heavy metal levels... As with most such supplements I reckon it is quite expensive and there are other cheaper ways to attain those benefits that have proven to be effective and safe.

Thank you for your informative video, Mike. Your exploration of tryptophan's role in producing beneficial compounds like indole lactic acid (ILA) and indole propionic acid (IPA) is particularly intriguing. These compounds' potential to promote gut health, protect against allergies, and potentially improve heart health is a promising avenue of research.
I would like to introduce a complex interplay regarding L-glutamine. While undeniably crucial for intestinal barrier integrity and overall cellular health, its role in cancer metabolism has introduced a nuanced perspective. The evidence surrounding L-glutamine's impact on cancer proliferation is multifaceted, involving intricate signalling pathways and metabolic adaptations.
A balanced approach is essential. While L-glutamine's benefits for gut health are well-established, individual circumstances and potential risks should be carefully considered. It's a fascinating area of ongoing research with implications for both health optimisation and cancer therapy.
How do you see the interplay between tryptophan metabolites and L-glutamine in supporting overall gut health and potentially mitigating systemic inflammation, Mike?
