    I have had mine for a few years and now the top is becoming rusty. The salts reacts with the galvanizing on the top panel and cause it to rust. It also made the gears corrode. I also don't like that fact that you are very limited on the replacement parts. I love the popcorn popper but the corrosion is frustrating. I wish the inside top was stainless.

      That's one thing that I haven't run into yet, and I'm coming up on 3 years. Do you wipe your popcorn machine down after each use? I have had to use vinegar to clean the thing out, the kettle, and the sides, all the metal, etc. But so far so good. I'll keep you updated and watch for rust, but we also have zero humidity where I'm at as well. Thanks for the comment and letting me know what to watch for.

      @@Gigi-zf5ox So I can update this video with pictures, but there isn't a speck of rust on my popcorn machine. I don't know why some people are having a rusting issue, now I am wiping this thing down after each use, sometimes I take a day or two do do it, but I use apple cider vinegar (like it says to) to clean the metal, walls, and kettle) but no issues.
      I'd get in touch with their customer service if it's practically new out of the box and rusting, either they changed metals, or something isn't right with it. Thanks for the comment!

      @@FixMyBleep Noproblem. I now have this thing and u were right. Great quality, Big and heavy, but Awesome looking! Do you recommend putting in one cup of seeds for an adequate serving for 1-2 people? The 12 oz kettle is fairly large, so just wanna make sure I get the same, typical popping effect, instead of it being too deep and the kernel get trapped? How many cups or oz are the jolly time kits please?

      @@Chaseh1616 Hi, so the Jolly Time Kits have 1 and a half to 2 cups of popcorn in them for the 12 oz kettle and it serves maybe 4 or 5 people so you can go half that for just 2 people I'd think. Hope that helps! Enjoy! 🍿

    Do you have tonise oil? Can you air pop? The kernels

    • @FixMyBleep
      @FixMyBleep  Рік тому +1

      I have been using pre-measured packets with this popcorn machine and they work really well, the oil is included, salt, and kernels. This machine has the kettle heat up so if you were to put oil in the kettle with kernels and salt you could go that route but would have to measure things separately. But I just haven't tried tonise oil, and for air popping, everything goes into the kettle to be heated up. Hopefully that helps. Here is a link for the pre-measured packets if interested.

    • @FixMyBleep
      @FixMyBleep  Рік тому +1

      Yes that is correct, they are calling it oil, but that is what I'm referring to as the buttery part on the popcorn packet. Here is a link to those packets. The oil/butter turns to a liquid from the warmth of your hands if you knead the packet before dumping it into the popcorn machine. Sorry for the confusion that is my fault, and thank you for the comment.

      @@FixMyBleep okay, so you mean tried other brands and they came out chewy too?

    • @FixMyBleep
      @FixMyBleep  3 місяці тому

      @@benjiebarker I had tried other brands before settling for the Jolly Time one, but mostly got "flavor-less" ones or some that just weren't good, but not "chewy." Check your kettle size, also the ones I have been using are pre-measured packets so you aren't measuring out oil, popcorn, and salt, it's all done for you, super lazy I know, but man it's worth it because the popcorn turns out great! If it's chewy, make sure you aren't getting steam trapped in the kettle, or that there isn't a moisture issue.
      Also you can try pouring in the oil first, crank on the heat, drop in a few kernals, once those pop, pour in the remainder of the popcorn kernals, those should pop very quickly then you should be good and it should not be chewy. Hope that helps.

    • @FixMyBleep

      Sorry but from what I've found looking at the manufacturer website and instructions, No. The directions specifically say NOT to make kettle corn in this machine.
      Looks like cleaning would be a real issue if you did kettle corn in this, the sugar would mess up the mixing bar. Great question however.

    You started your timer before you started your microwave, about 38 seconds passed before you started the the oven... Not a very accurate test to see how long it takes in a microwave. But then again I think you are trying to get people to buy that 300 dollar popcorn maker...

    • @FixMyBleep
      @FixMyBleep  Рік тому +1

      So the comparison I'm making is from the time it takes to open the bag of microwave popcorn, then pop it in the microwave. That's why I started the timer then open the bag and then proceed to pop it. I did the same with the Jolly Time Popcorn Kit. Honestly I don't really care if people buy this or not, I'm providing a service and enjoy helping people, not profiting from it.
      My wife and I used ours twice over the Memorial Day weekend and love it. Take that for what it's worth, it's quick, reliable, and worth the $300.00 pleas ask anyone who has one, these popcorn makers crank out the goodness. Don't buy through my link, do your own research. But I would buy this model again when and if our current one eventually dies.
