Western U.S. Visual Travel Teaser!

Ok. Soooo I might have had a little creative burst with this one. It’snot
Prefect. Timing is everything, and this is my first time cutting in the music on the beat. On my phone, as I always do. I will post a revised version up on Instagram tomorrow, because unfortunately, I am a perfectionist.🙄But honestly, I hope it gets a few smiles. I will say that all photos used in the making of this movie minute are public domain and I got them off the ol’ interwebs. They DO however, closely represent a good portion of actual locations we will be visiting.
This has been brewing in my brain for a while, and I do have a love for movie soundtracks, so I just wanted to play around a little and see what I could do. I grew up playing the violin and always wanted to play in a film score orchestra, but that just wasn’t in the cards, so this is fun enough!
Anyways… the Big Trip…
Beginning in late June, I will probably do short teaser movies once a week or two, with regular updates on the community tab and Instagram in real time, as we move in a giant circle encompassing 9 western states. The goal is to enjoy myself while allowing serendipity, chance and blessings to happen at will while not allowing myself to get overly involved in the process of creating videos. Balance, you know. I want to enjoy myself, while taking you along for a completely visual ride-along.
We will visit quite a variety of camping locations, like KOA’s, state parks, Harvest Hosts, National Parks, BLM land, National Forest land, an RV park and a Hip Camp. Yup. Got some variety goin’ on here.
As we make our way through some amazing scenery, we expect nothing, but anticipate whatever the road may bring, good or bad. Gotta roll with it. This is Dave’s retirement dream, which shall become an incredible achievement after so much planning. We knew we wanted to do this, so we let not one negative thought or emotion stop us from making the attempt.
Things have a habit of falling into place with a little faith and determination. Sometimes you can’t worry about the ‘how’ or the end game. Take a step. Then another one. Then, another. Well, maybe that’s not for everybody, but in our camp, that’s how we play it.
Onward to seeing the mountains and the hills, the buffalos and the cows, the wild horses and the desert alike… I long to see the spellbinding stars at night, the incredible thunderstorms and magical sunsets and sunrises. And as we discover what lies beyond those horizons never crossed, I’d like to leave a little mystery and allow for curiosity and wonder as we travel, while hoping to bring a little joy to whoever happens across our journey on UA-cam. Hmm. I’m getting pretty excited! The countdown is on! 67 days!
