I am a photographer who shot any number of types of food,and commercial photos! Never cheated on any of them! Started on 4x5's,and view cameras and saw tons of others works at Photo Expos,so I am aware of the tricks,but those works,could be seen through,as the trade papers,gave away the inside information! Now,with green screen,its easier,but there are ways to tell,and anyone with a discerning eye spots the tricks pretty rapidly! Anyway,it great that you put the magic in the open! Thank you 😇 😊!

Well, it's cheaper to make one burger look good than millions of them. People buy them no matter how awful they look and taste in the fastfood restaurant.
The noodles look obviously fake in the advertisement one. The watermelon and strawberry can be super red. You just need the money to buy the good quality fruits. I believe an advertisement campaign has that money. No need to use paint or lipstick on them.
Learned about several of these in culinary school. With a lot of foods, it's a race against time under hot lights, so I get it. The mashed potatoes ice cream is a classic example.
This is weird, half of the "real" versions just seem prepared by amateurs... I have no issues getting picture perfect steaks, drinks, chickens, and honestly most of these I could do with the real thing.

I don’t know what’s worse. Seeing these cheap and deceptive ways to make food look better, or the fact that I worked at Long John Silver‘s and I know exactly what all that “ food” really is. Ever seen those long white cutting boards chefs use in kitchens? That’s pretty much what the fish at Long John Silver’s is, just long planks of Hella processed fish that breaks off at the end making the diamond shape every time.
I don't believe the commercials anyways. Most of the food don't look edible.

I think it's hilarious when people complain that the real life food doesn't look like the photo... that can take several hours to set up and is mostly inedible.
Those are the same people who will whine about how long they had to sit in the drive thru, especially if it's more than 45 seconds.

Never eaten ice-cream from an ice-cream vehicle before? No need to use shaving cream. Ice-cream makers have their own equipments to make the cream hold. It last for some time which is long enough to take pictures or film a few minutes video on it.
