    Lemme guess - a TimeSaver machine is in your future! :-)
    Local Mennonite shop has one; I've had him run a finished workbench top through to level and sand it... Absolute beast of a machine. And a beautiful finish from it!

      Actually we are importing a machine directly from China, saving us about 100K on the purchase (-: The way the world is so connected now, the larger companies will have to stop gouging so much on the price of machines. The mark up would force me to be in debt my whole life )-:

      @@CanadianWoodworks, Awesome! And not the first time you've pulled this one; your big laser engraver came directly from China as well, if memory serves. Very cool - can't wait to see it set up and humming.

    Pleased that you got a bargain but if there is one machine never to buy at auction, it is a wide belt sander. If you find one fault, like damage to the roller, the costs for repair can be mind bending. And often they cannot be easily repaired on site.

      I felt good about this one because it came from a working shop where all the did was sand veneered material, that's pretty intense and you need a machine in tip top shape. But yes I agree you can be rolling the dice with auction purchases. I've almost always been at the auction and seen the machinery in person before bidding. Thanks for watching.

    At last, someone that talk about wide belt sander. You say that you compressor is 20hp. Can you tell us about your compressor and the pipe size? how much cfm that the compressor can do and how much the belt sander need! I want to see more of this video! thank!!!

    • @CanadianWoodworks
      @CanadianWoodworks  2 роки тому +1

      I have 2 3/4'' pipe and a 1/2'' pipe from my compressor to the wide belt about 60' away, the compressor is around 50cfm. This belt sander uses air to clean the belt, the other features don't use much air, but the belt cleaning uses alot!

    I’d love to have a regular drum sander for now. What machine is it you got for just a couple hundred dollars because it was so big people didn’t want to mess with it?

    • @CanadianWoodworks
      @CanadianWoodworks  3 роки тому

      I've been fortunate to get a few machines at very good prices, as you said a few hundred, did those machines take days of work to clean up and a few parts here and there.

    Math is wrong. 1" = 25.4 mm.
    Hope you correct that before you mess something up!
