It’s a good thing you caught this one when you did. Just saw that it’s being torn down.
Very Awesome indeed find abandoned Friendly's restaurants that is really cool place I never been here and had to go on get something to eat.
We lost all of ours in Ohio. They always had a good food.
I remember the one in Fairlawn, which is a now-closed sports bar
Really? I’m from MA and they’re everywhere.
Thumbs Up!
The thing on the roof: weather vane
There was one on Cochran Rd Mt. Lebanon many years ago. I’m really showing my age that I can vividly remember that lol.
Oh my gosh what are the odds I told in urban explorer to go to the same exact same place today before you posted this video and you weren’t here that’s crazy!! Anyways awesome video Wallie!! as always stay awesome!
I know Holiday Studios likes this video. You know, cause he likes friendlys a lot.
yea lmao!
Nice wallie
❤❤
Wife and I were just there last week in Gettysburg and have ate at that Friendly’s there. Wallie I remember the Home Sweet Home motel , we stayed there a couple of times too before it was torn down. I really wanted to move to Gettysburg. We ate at the Lincoln Diner when we were there. You really travel a lot , very cool. Lol
I always liked Friendly’s. They have two in Myrtle Beach that I have gone to when I’m in the area.
Yep, yes we do one on the blvd across from the ocean.
My wife and I used to go to this Friendly's in the late 90s when we lived in Lemoyne. Sad to see how it is now.
That Friendly's building looks awesome, to me it doesn't look like shoe box it looks like has awesome character, I hope when next business they keep that awesome looks on that building because sadly you get to see buildings look that anymore
It’s always sad to see a business close! Cool video as usual! 👍👍🤘❤️
Friendlys brings back so many memories for me. We originally had 2 of them here in Lockport NY. One in the Lockport Mall and one in downtown Lockport City. Many memories with my grandmother and also with my gf Terri since we have been together for so long. Both locations of course are long gone now but so many memories both from my childhood and adult years. Thanks Wallie for another great video!!!!!
According to the local news, the Friendly's closed September 22, 2024.
A Mr. Beast Burger has already moved in and opened. I didn't find the opening date, but it was October.
I mentioned this before, the Popeyes at 1900 N Cameron St, Harrisburg, PA 17103 is still closed. It has been closed since April 2023. In a recent development, the outside lights were turned off within the last month and the vegetation overgrowth has been cut.
I wish I would have had more time in the area that day because I would have filmed it but my time was seriously crunched due to my obligations with KMFDM and Morlocks. But I come out there from time to time! My cousin lives there and I have an aunt in Mechanicsburg. So I need to come out soon so I can see them. I have this location written down in my notebook so I remember to do it! This Friendly's just happened to be a surprise video as I was driving right past it while running around for Morlocks. Haha
I was wrong about the Mr. Beast Burger. Google Maps is showing it there, with operating hours. There was an article in our local news about it. But I just saw, the building was torn down today.
haven't been to Gettysburg in several years and the Friendly's there was always on my list of places to eat, good to hear it's still open
Cool
Awesome 👌 video ❤ man ❤
Absolutely love Friendlys. When I spent time in Ct in the early 80’s, my dad and grandparents would take me there. We had one in Knoxville many, many, many years ago. Think it lasted 2 yrs. Hate that it closed.
Another great video 😊
Cool place
The thing on the top of the tower is a weather vane.
it’s sad all these classic fast food places are going out of business
An awesome video, Wallie! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 I like the building's aesthetics. Honestly, I've never heard of Friendly's restaurant, as I've never traveled to where Friendly's is located.
Have a good time the weather looks nice, the building looks similar to a Homestead.
Thanks for another video, 🏪 😆🖖
thanks wallie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your videos. I recently just subscribed. I used to explore some abandoned places with my dad when I was little. So I love watching abandoned places exploration on you tube.
The Friendly’s in Danville, PA is still open, too! The closest one to western Pennsylvania was in Poland, Ohio. And it’s been gone for a really long time!
Grew up going there as a kid. A shame. The chain really went down hill
Everything is awesome I love your videos keep make more new Christmas videos ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤ ❤
You keep getting near me, one of these times I'm going to catch you. That Friendly's is where my wife and I had our first date. There used to be a group of us would meet there after church on Wednesdays in the min 90's. Great memories but, yeah it has been fading sadly.
I love Friendlys. Their ice cream is so good. They have one in Centerville, near the Giant. I have been to the battlefield in Gettysburg in 5th grade. I don't remember much of my field trip there though.
I was a manager at Friendlys. Loved working there. Too bad they have declined so much over the years. Only one left in NY. The one I worked at
Another great video! I miss Friendly's here in New York! I always thought they had good food! You did not ring the bell, at the back of this Friendly's building!
Need to do the one in fairlawn ohio.. was friendlys close in the late 90s and melt bar n grill bought it and just closed this summer after open maybe 8 years if not shorter..
That's the Friendly's I grew up with
@@neohistoryfan1014 IT WAS IN SUMMIT MALL FIRST BEFORE THEY BUILD A PLACE OF ITS OWN
@@JOHNJ0HN9111 I do not remember it being at the mall, but I do remember the standalone location in Montrose, which is a now-closed branch of Lakewood (Cleveland)-based Melt Bar & Grilled. I just went by it today and have no idea what will move in.
@neohistoryfan1014 ya it was at the end next to the men's Dillard's and closed in the early 90s to open the new spot..
@@JOHNJ0HN9111 is that where a shoe store is now?
I ate at this restaurant about a year before it closed, and I didn't even know it was closed until I saw this video on my feed.
The booth seats remind me of a late 90's Big Kmart.
The Friendly's in York is still open.. It's a little west on Rt. 30 from the Taco Bell video you did a few months ago.. I ate in the Camp Hill Friendly's quite a few times, when I lived in the area... The Salvation Army had a large store down the street . I used to eat at Friendly's and do some shopping after.
The old Friendly's in Orlando, FL recently closed as well. The building is nearly identical to this one. Now there are only two left in the state.
We ate at that Friendly's in August on our way to NY. How sad I used to eat at Friendly's all the time growing up.
Hi Wallie 👍✌️
Wallie the thing on top of the tower is called a directional Wind Vain..an holy crap 3:15 a gallon for gas at the Sunoco station there wow id like go fill up 100 cans there and drive back here with a barrel full for that price..
The wind indicate that spins around is called a weathervane on top of buildings. If you look at how it's made on UA-cam you can see how weathervanes are made the old school way.
We had a friendly's here in Allentown Pennsylvania on airport road it's been closed for a year
When Hershey acquired them in the late 1980’s,this corporation started dying. High 5 didn’t help either in the millennium and the original owners bought them back when the brothers were in their late 80’s age wise. Now some business capital group that doesn’t know a hamburger from a cow poop operates Friendly’s!!
They used to be a Dutch pantry located on that site before Friendly’s
That closure was definitely specific to that location. It had a bad reputation for slow service, rude staff, and they never did any community fundraiser nights. I didn’t mind the place but my wife and mother in law would only ever cross the river to the east shore Friendly’s.
We have four abandoned cvs locations in northeast Ohio. Cleveland heights Mayfield village, mayfield heights, and South Euclid. Many of them have closed in the past two years.
I remember the one in Gettysburg...🥹🥲♥️
Holiday Studios gettin happy with this one!
The weather thing is called a weather vain. A friendly reminder 😊
Man you just made it. Yesterday I drove by and they were tearing the building down.
What do you expect in Harrisburg!!
First view and like
I work near there.
Awesome video great job I'm a Subscribe
5:06 a Wind Vane
Just went by today, and someone is in there working on remodeling. Hope it is something other than a bank.
Weather vane with the N.S.E.W arrows.
Western PA had Shoneys, Eat N Park, Kings. Friendlys didn’t dare tread in these parts
TGIF gone Borderline Bankrupt, Will you hit closing ones up? NJ might have A lot, like Cherry Hill, & Marlton NJ definitely.
do more abandoned businesses in harrisburg area walley
A weathervane?
lol weathervane :)
i used 2 work in 1 in baltimore, ant night i used 2 get 2 eat the leftover food and icecream
I have a still going strong Friendly’s that’s been around forever 5 minutes from my house it’s the last one in the state
depending on what city you live in in America all good restaurants are closing up because the generation of 20 and 30 year old's want extremely expensive food where you only get a tablespoons of food and then go home and complain about how you got ripped off and yet they don't work
It's called a steeple
The answer to your question is weather vane.
can anyone make out what the Permit says
It is now a Mr. Beast Burger
The economy is being a unfriendly friend to a lot of restaurants 😮😢 that is a wether vane on top of the building
Weathervane
Weather vain
They used to be a Dutch pantry located on that site before Friendly’s
