- We are featuring every Nancy & Lee duet from 1966-1976 in the order they were recorded. The second recorded Nancy & Lee duet was “Summer Wine.”
“Summer Wine” was originally recorded in 1966 for the Nancy In London album and later included on Nancy & Lee’s 1968 album of duets. It can also be found on the 2021 compilation, Start Walkin’ 1965-1976 released by Light In The Attic Records. “Summer Wine” was released as the B-side of “Sugar Town” and became Nancy & Lee’s first duet chart hit when radio DJs flipped the record and started playing “Summer Wine” too!

a lot of the Hazelwood/Sinatra songs were sexually charged but u gotta read between the lines & 1960s was the time for this subtle sophisticated salaciousness but it glides over the laws of censorship, that's a skill not common today, then to create pop culture art in music is amazing, before money ruled art & commerce coexisted quite happily 🙃
