She was a menace, especially at night, keeping us up every night with sounds, scratching our bed, just making as much noise as possible without actually barking. We had a cozy dog bed right next to our bed, but she just wouldn't settle down. Until we finally caved and let her up in our bed. Then she started sleeping calmly all night long. Now I wouldn't have it any other way.

If you think about it , a dog can figure out the jumbled mashing of sounds we make and actually learn commands and understand our intentions.....this takes them like a week to learn and it's on their own. We can't say the same about their mashing of sounds they make. You have an idea of what they want . So who's more intelligent?

So true. I bought a Tibbie (Tibetan Spaniel) that was only six months old when we got him. He just wanted to snuggle and feel safe. He always put his nose very close to my skin so he could smell me. Dogs are pack animals and ALWAYS sleep together. Thats why I always let my dogs sleep in bed with me. Its their instinct and as soon as they see you as their leader, they want to stay close to you.
baby animals don't naturally sleep alone, especially when they are removed from their mothers and siblings as infants. Expect some lonliness and sadness and remember, it's a baby that needs closeness.
When i brought my Mali pup home i had to put her crate on my bed next to me and put my fingers through the cage so she could suckle on them until she fell asleep. Took about a week before she could sleep without it knowing i was next to her. Our bond now is unbreakable and shes the most affectionate dog ive ever had! She absolutely loves me and i her.

I’ve had three in my lifetime and I can assure you 15 years is beyond hopeful, especially unlikely with the amount of poor breeding that puppy mills perform in order to keep up with demand at pet stores. Even dogs bred by accredited breeders who only breed the healthiest dogs, 10 years is more realistic. They’re highly prone to health issues, so unless you like spending thousands on vet bills on top of their insane price tag, get a mutt.

He needs someone to sleep with. He’s just a young pup & isn’t used to sleeping without his Mom, brothers & sisters. The best thing for a new pup fresh from his Mom especially the first few nights is to either give them a bunch of stuffed animals to cuddle with or the way I do it I just let them sleep with me! Nothing better than baby puppy cuddles!!!

Same. My half papillon/half pom is quite a talker whether its barking or growling lightly you always know what he wants! Luckily I’m a single mama with tons of room in my bed so my dog and my kitty were the ones fighting for space rather than another human…and wouldn’t u know they both fit in with me perfectly! Love my furbabies they are part of the family! Before my sweet Sunny was adopted by me he was crated and in a house with 7 other dogs…he sure got used to the prince kind of life at my house. No more doggies and a cute (albeit cranky) cat to harass on the daily. Before it was more of a fight, now they play and groom each other up! I feel my family is complete with my human son and my 2 furbabies what more could I want?! I feel completely fulfilled. No room for any stinky old men in my bed. My babies take all the space up and leave just enough for me!
This incredibly gorgeous boy is a good communicator and is very expressive. He truly talks back yet when his dad asks for a kiss, the pup’s heart melted and gave in. Cuteness overload 🥰
When i got my 2-month old shipoo, i would hear a sound of a baby crying that would immediately disappeared whenever I went downstairs. After going up and down for several times, it finally dawned on me it was my new pup crying. She didnt want to be left alone and would start crying as soon as i go upstairs. It's amazing how her cry resembled that of a human baby. She was the sweetest and smartest dog. We put her down at the age of 15. She gave me many happy memories and the most unconditional i could ever ask for. She saved me from more than a decade of loneliness and hopelessness. Dogs are simply amazing creatures.
its fine with this breed, they dont get verbal unless they are distressed, its fine to try find out whats distressing them and fix it. Its probably just lonely, take it out and hold it till it falls asleep, its fine, its just one pet dog, figure out how to make its sleeping area better.

I agree Tammy, it's hard but that's what parenting is, setting boundaries whether it's a child or puppy, and best for them in the long run.

Dogs can learn up to 250 words. Believe me,... he knows what's going on😉
Just remember animals can understand us they can learn our language. Yet we will never fully understand what they're saying. We can only go off of body language and if they're a talker... you'll get a good clue of what they're saying lol

He needs someone to sleep with. He’s just a young pup & isn’t used to sleeping without his Mom, brothers & sisters. The best thing for a new pup fresh from his Mom especially the first few nights is to either give them a bunch of stuffed animals to cuddle with or the way I do it I just let them sleep with me! Nothing better than baby puppy cuddles!!!

Ye ur right but I normally come and put my dogs bed in my dads room incase but he only does it if he’s sad which’s isn’t that likely but with dogs In beds yes upstairs and downs the dog is comfy with u but yes sometimes if you wake up your eyes might have been bitten or quilt gets ruined bc of dtrachting sometimes

Same. My half papillon/half pom is quite a talker whether its barking or growling lightly you always know what he wants! Luckily I’m a single mama with tons of room in my bed so my dog and my kitty were the ones fighting for space rather than another human…and wouldn’t u know they both fit in with me perfectly! Love my furbabies they are part of the family! Before my sweet Sunny was adopted by me he was crated and in a house with 7 other dogs…he sure got used to the prince kind of life at my house. No more doggies and a cute (albeit cranky) cat to harass on the daily. Before it was more of a fight, now they play and groom each other up! I feel my family is complete with my human son and my 2 furbabies what more could I want?! I feel completely fulfilled. No room for any stinky old men in my bed. My babies take all the space up and leave just enough for me!

This incredibly gorgeous boy is a good communicator and is very expressive. He truly talks back yet when his dad asks for a kiss, the pup’s heart melted and gave in. Cuteness overload 🥰

When i got my 2-month old shipoo, i would hear a sound of a baby crying that would immediately disappeared whenever I went downstairs. After going up and down for several times, it finally dawned on me it was my new pup crying. She didnt want to be left alone and would start crying as soon as i go upstairs. It's amazing how her cry resembled that of a human baby.
She was the sweetest and smartest dog. We put her down at the age of 15. She gave me many happy memories and the most unconditional i could ever ask for. She saved me from more than a decade of loneliness and hopelessness.
Dogs are simply amazing creatures.
I'm sorry you lost her, but 15 years of unconditional love is a blessing for both of you.

its fine with this breed, they dont get verbal unless they are distressed, its fine to try find out whats distressing them and fix it. Its probably just lonely, take it out and hold it till it falls asleep, its fine, its just one pet dog, figure out how to make its sleeping area better.
