- In this video I talk about my new collaboration with an awesome Blacksmith that lives in Sweden.
His name is Philip Lufolk, and he makes some amazing artwork out of raw steel.
I also make a Blackberry Pie in Viking style, and celebrate the Autumn Equinox by burning a SunWheel.

I loved how Cornelius was protecting you while you were picking the berries, such a good puppy. That pie, reminded me of my Grandma, she was a farmer from Minnesota, German, when they would come down and visit in the 60's and early 70's I remember her making pies at night all the time and waking up to fresh donuts and the smell of yeast for bread, when I got home from school she would sit me down and cut a slice of bread for me with some nice butter and homemade apricot or strawberry jam. when they would go back to Minn. our other refrigerator and freezer was full of pies she made for us... mmmmm THanks for the memory and thanks for the video. have a great week.

Another wonderful visit to Cimbrer Camp. It was the right place to be to film a 'beginning of autumn' program. A few weeks ago, I received two Hemse-patterned pottery cups. The historic design reminded me that these artifacts might be the roots of 'Danish Modern' design.

here in southern Germany we also celebrate the so called "Sonnwende" (midsummer night) in June.
Every Village builds a huge pile of wood like a big cone, the higher, the better, which will be set on fire after sunset.
These cones can be 6 to 10 meters high and do have at lesat fife meters in diameter at the bottom.
If you drive through the area in that night, you will see these fires everywhere arround you from far away.
The "Funken" (so we call these Fires) will always be built up the day before midsummer night.
The bad Tradition is, that very often guys from the neighbor village try to sneak in to set your Funken on fire the night before midsummer.
So there are always some guys staying there during the night as "Funken watch".

It’s the same here in Denmark 🇩🇰🔥 a big bonfire … but no trouble with people who are lighting it up before time 😉 … and we also make a figure that looks like a witch 🧙♀️ and put it on top of the fire 🔥 and sends her to “Bloksbjerg” … and I believe that is somewhere in Germany
And old tradition … burning a witch on the fire … 😆 … to get rid of the evil … don’t know if this makes sense for people outside Denmark 🤔 🤪🤨😳

This might be a local tradition in the south, where I come from.
I did not know, that in Denmark there is also a Bloksberg, where the whitches meet.
In Germany every year at the last day of April the whitches meet on the Bloksberg in Sachsen-Anhalt, also called "Brocken".
Maybe they always fly from one Bloksberg to the other on their brooms, so they can have more than only one meeting every year 😃

Cool to learn about the three times of year until the 1800 century. Why is the sun wheel divided into four? does it not seem strange?
It’s only the term autumn that wasn’t used … but harvest 😉
So there were still 4 seasons … and that’s why the sun wheel was decided in 4 🏕🔥🌲

I can remember almost 50 years ago picking Blackberries at yule time (Christmas) & various other fruits 🍇if I was able to get them and helped my mother make a yule time 🥧pie I think even back then she had made it slightly alcoholic she never used to say but am sure it was 😂good good memories from a time long gone. The wheel and scythe and the other blacksmith designs that you've made in collaboration with your friend are simply amazing very well done to you both I hope it will be a great collaborative success you both deserve it thanks again for such a great vid have a great week...

Another wonderful video my friend! I love your whiskey drinking dish. My ancestors in Scotland called it a "quaich" they also called whisky "aqua vitae" the water of life. Just a fun fact I thought you would enjoy!

Cornelius got used to his leashe pretty well. 🐕My cycling injuries healed pretty good. We had to survive a pretty hot heat wave here. A month of September as hot as July. Never been seen in more than 150 years. I have to slow down on beer and tobacco, I haven't been feeling so well.🍻Take care dear Tom.
