For Alisha: when people say you should read a book or watch a movie, reframing it as that people are using it as bids for connection with you could help. When people recommend media to us, it's because they want to connect with us and they thought of you.

@Remi, for our wedding (2022) we just prioritized our goals. We wanted: a) a huge party with all of our friends and b) an easily accessible venue that makes it easy for older and out of town guests. So our venue was just in a big downtown athletic club, which had a hotel IN the building, AND had the ceremony room down the hall from the reception. We did very minimal decor because the venue looked fine, and that was just not something I cared about. We made sure the food and alcohol was good and plentiful. And that's it! Biased but best wedding we've ever been to 👀

For remi, as a 2023 bride that literally didn’t want a “wedding” me and my husband both very chill people didn’t want a big wedding and didn’t wanna spend the money truly. My mother in law took over a lot of the planning and I wanted to literally elope and call it a day. We ended up getting married at the courthouse with our closest friends and family watching. We did our vows in private just the 2 of us and had a small “reception” in the upstairs of a bar. Now mind you we got married on a Monday 🤣 not a big crowd on a Monday at 2pm. I’m saying all this to say. None of it really matters and yes I loved how our wedding was so small I would have loved it just being us too but you will never regret marrying your person. You may regret the choice of flowers or who you invited but you will never regret marrying your best friend. So always have that in the back of your head that even when things don’t go how you thought at the end of the day you’re still marrying cal! ❤️

Hiiii!! (I apologize as this is super long)
I’ve been following along on Remi’s wedding journey and just wanted start off by saying that Remi, I am so excited for you. You are going to be an absolutely STUNNING bride.
As someone who recently got married, I LOVE hearing all of your behind the scenes regarding the wedding planning, so please do not shy away from sharing what YOU want to.
I got married on September 23rd last year and know how absolutely overwhelming the whole entire wedding planning experience can be. There was MANY times I had breakdowns and wished I would’ve just eloped.
All of that to say, having an actual wedding was so wonderful and worth all of the stress once it’s all said and done. Seeing all of the things you worked so hard to plan come together on the day of is so rewarding.
One thing I was so beyond grateful to have at my wedding was having a sparate “bridal” space. ( bare with me as I attempt to explain my thoughts haha) We got married on my grandma’s lake property. We rented a big white tent, plopped it infront of the water and rented bathrooms for all of the guests.
Being someone who can get a little overwhelmed in crowds it was honestly super nice to have the lake house as a separate space for me to “escape” to periodically for a few minutes. Whether it was to take a minor breather, grab a little snack away from everyone or even to just use a separate bathroom it was a game changer for me and I’m so grateful I had it.
I’m sure A LOT of the venues you’re looking into have a separate space and I just wanted to underline that I found it to be so beneficial as it can definitely be overwhelming being the centre of attention all night long.
Another thing is, I genuinely don’t think I ate really anything the day of my wedding as I was SO full of anxiety. Having snacks for you that you can have uninterrupted in that separate space (especially after all of the nerve racking things are done) is a game changer (I didn’t have any aside from a dinner roll but would’ve appreciated a little something to absorb the alcohol I was consuming as I quite literally have never been SO sick the day after in my entire life🤪)
Best wishes to you as you continue on your wedding journey Remi ❤️ Opinions whether wanted or not will be thrown at you left and right but always remember that it’s YOUR (and Cal’s) special day. Make it what YOU want.
Ps. As a fellow people pleaser, make sure to surround yourself with people who YOU truly want to be there and who also want the best for you. ❤️ I learned A LOT about the people who I chose to surround myself with pre wedding but looking back now it really was a blessing in disguise.

Wedding Tip: For venues, look to see what the bathroom situation is and the bride suite if you plan on getting ready there! Also, how long is the walk down the aisle to the groom? The longer the aisle, the more chances of falling or tripping LOL!

This could be a book of a long message but the shortest I can do is this. The literal day after my wedding I felt sad about all the time, stress, and money that we put into the wedding and regretted it. Felt like it took so much of us and the result was pretty and a memory but also in the end not that important in the grand scheme. So my general advice is don’t put too much into it that you won’t ever get back. We can tell ourselves it’s worth to spend the money cause it’s our only wedding but also it’s just one day. That money could go towards so much more long lasting things.
