USA and Europe have become too complacent and think there is no cost to freedom.

It's difficult for Biden to put any political pressure on Yoon when the president elect is someone who will welcome and encourage a strongman in South Korea. If Yoon wants to seize power for real, he need only hold out until January 20, 2025 to get American support for the coup.

@TimesRadio . The martial law decree possibility of activation by the executive civilian branch of the government, is included in the democratic constitution of South Korea, and is a democratic decree that could be activated by the Executive branch (meaning the civilian President + government) of South Korea which is also supported by 49% of the population represented by the minority 49% of the members of the parliament. If that is not democracy, then what could else be? The 51% of the parliament majority could legislate decree against the martial law but if the President veto's the anti-martial law decree, the decree
    it won't apply,
therefore it could not stop the martial law. And the martial law is needed to approve the strong budget for the military and the increase of the number of soldiers because few hundred thousand soldiers could not stop the few millions of North Korean communist soldiers from invading. Haven't you learn from what is going on in Ukraine which has less soldiers than Russia and keep loosing land ? ? ?

My limited understanding of the Nordic system of government is that they represent the pinnacle of a pure democracy, whereas our system is more confused (e.g. the electoral vs. the popular vote). Perhaps even worse than that, out Supreme court failed to call out a g**damn coup attempt as grounds to deny trump the right to run again, based on the Constitution's 14th amendment.
