I just did this on my 19 year old Jetta and don’t know what I would have down without it. The cables on mine had frayed and wound up around stuff so when in cane out the door I couldn’t really look and copy. Luckily I found this video and was able to install the repair kit. Still the best option as it saves you from having to drill out rivets from the rails or speaker’s.
Thank God for UA-cam now I can fix mine.
Jst fixed my electric window.The pulley system/cables are real tight when you install new ones and takes time to get cables on the 4 round runners.You have to be patient when doing this job! If you have unplugged central locking system(which is inevitable)you need to plug everything back in for that door to lock/unlock correctly.So check the door works before putting glass and door card back on.I learnt the hard way with a headache with a door locked shut.It's part of a safety mechanism

what I did is that Pulled it down and slided the lock arm through its rubber fitting.
I was afraid that it will break or bind but it went fine actually
i want to chavge it for my scoda fabia and that was really helpfull. thnx for the video. i think its gonna be the same the only think that i cant do is remove all this metal plate from the door. anw i ll find a way. thnx again for the video
Window regulators always in stock at europarts about £47 and for about £6 more they come complete on the plate which makes things a lot easier.

have bought the kit but the pulley wires are too short
its easy done, even better still as ive had another regulator go on the passenger side. you can buy the whole inner door card with a working regulator (make sure it has the new metals clips though) from breakers on ebay for around £25. its a must with no fucking about fitting it just change the door cards over. simples
Yes same the cables are shorter than the vw ones and I cant get it to fit

I read this then bought a copy (vaico) from europarts
and its about an inch to short duh !!
Make sure you buy genuine, not worth the hassle for extra £30. bought a copy and cables too short. Then went to vw to buy a kit, it fitted in minuites.
