I understand this works as a DI box. But can you invert the order: connect an out from an interface into the ISO (balanced to balanced) and the unbalanced DIR into the amp? Is the transformer sufficient in eliminating noise from connecting a balance line out into a unabalanced inst level in from the amp?
We tried to make the version III even better, but it was simply not possible. :) Except for the updated design, there is no difference in the technical specifications which makes it easy to use different versions of the P-SPLIT within e.g. stereo signal.
Can i use this for acoustic guitar and split it into two preamp pedals? Here is what I thought: Guitar - Lehle splitter split to - (fishman aura and fishman platinum pro eq) - A/B Box - Reverb - DI out to PA So the purpose of this setup is to switch the preamp according the acoustic or nylon guitar i use because i need a different eq in each guitar.. and sometimes on a vary gig situation there’s a limited mixer channel available.. so you think it will work? Dankeschön
Basically - yes. But I rather recommend to use the LEHLE D.LOOP SGoS lehle.com/EN/Lehle-D.Loop-SGoS Place the Fishmans in one loop each. Connect the guitar to the LEHLE's input and its output to the reverb. By toggling the loops you will select the correct Fishman. In my opinion it's a better, cleaner and more handy solution, as no galvanic isolation by a transformer (as in the P-SPLIT III) is needed. if you have any more questions, send me a mail to support@lehle.com. Cheers Joki
Hi, I hope you are all well, I am building a small pedal board, Have no pedals yet, just an isolated power supply and a Lehle dual aby pedal. If I use a buffered pedal first will it still be effective as a buffer after the isolated side of the aby? My intention is to use 2 or 3 drive pedals then split into a wet/dry rig. Thanks in anticipation Best regards, Steve
Connected a lehle d split iii to a blues junior (used evidence audio 2 ft) and to a twin 57 reissue (evidence audio 1ft), guitar to lehle (evidence audio 5ft)... big volume drop compared to guitar straight to either amp (evidence audio 5ft). Question: do all splitters do that?
If everything is correct, the P-SPLIT III has no loss. Seems like there is an impedance mismatch between your amps. To find it out, try to put a buffer or buffered pedal in between the guitar and LEHLE.
@@LehleSwitcher yes I received it but I wanted just confirmation that ps plit can be used as welk because I need to out it under my biard because I dont have enough space at the top.
@@robertmiddel5582 The P-SPLIT III can split a signal into two signals. Nevertheless I am not convinced that it's the correct device for your application.
How can I tell if I am purchasing the P-SPLIT III vs the older models? As it seems there is no numeration on the case from what I have seen, is there perhaps some smaller text on a sticker somewhere on the pedal? Cheers!
On the back of the pedal there's a print with the version of the model. The packaging has the model version printed, too. The colours of the three different versions of the P-SPLITs differ as well.
No - there's no audible loss, if the receivers' (amps) inputs are high impedance and match. If you have any activated effects pedals before the P-SPLIT III, the signal is low impedance anyway.
Would be so nice if you speak in English. I will buy a splitter from you (lehle) I have already the stereo volume pedal but I am looking for reviews on the normal passive splitter orrrrrrrr dont know yet what to go for as I am thinking about future possibilities. Thanks for the high quality product.

I am intending to use a wet-dry and eventually a stereo wet-dry-wet rig. This issue here is (I'm guessing) impedance -- the signal will be split after drives/fuzzes/modulation (possibly), which makes it at this point a low impedance signal. Then the splitter comes and one output goes into a dry amp, and the other goes into stereo delay/reverb and then into two wet amps. Is the passive splitter the right choice? One splitter is clearly enough to run wet-dry, but do I need a second one to run stereo wet-dry-wet? Thanks for making a great product, BTW.
At 04:13 you see how to connect three amps. This is the basis for a w/d/w system. So: guitar -> drives/modulation -> P-SPLIT: DIR to dry amp. ISO to delay/reverb. Then connect the left output of your last "wet" effect directly into the left wet amp. The right output into a second P-SPLIT. The ISO out then into the right wet amp. By doing this, you are isolating the wet amps, too. Since the signals are buffered due to the pedals before the first P-SPLIT, the chance for an impedance mismatch is low.
@@LehleSwitcher Firstly, thank you very much for a detailed answer. Clearly, you took the time to delve into the concerns I laid out in the comment. I appreciate that a lot. Secondly, just to clarify: the video shows two P-SPLITs connected with a patch cord and they are the very last in the chain before the amps. What you're suggesting though is one P-SPLIT at the Wet/Dry junction and the other one to separate the two stereo wet amps, correct? One before the Dry amp, one before the two Wet amps?
@@mentalitydesignvideo You are very welcome. Your summary is absolutely correct. You can send me (Joki) a mail to support@lehle.com and include a list of your gear, so I can draw you a setup schematic.
If lehle P split ii could not be improved then what's the point of a P split iii? By the way the camera work in this video is awful! I think my 5 year old could do better.
We updated the range of helper tools with new features and gave the P-SPLIT III the new design, too. We think technically the functions of the P-SPLITs are perfect, so there was no need for any change.
@@LehleSwitcher Thanks, I'm very impressed with your company staying on top of these questions with direct, honest answers. I wish I could say the same for other companies posting on U-Tube (IE) Trace Elliot. I ordered the P SPLIT iii feeling better about it now knowing that it's not a downgrade from P split ii. Some places on Amazon are charging nearly $100 more for the older Lehle P split ii. When I ask why, my question is always deleted. Buyer beware!
