I sometimes even think Nintendo just makes the games and theorists just make it so awesome. Then for the next game, the take the results from the theories on UA-cam, mix them together, let the theorists see it and collect the unintended information again. And all of those details are randomly thrown in by Nintendo, so that the theorists can make their job!

I could actually dig a little deeper in this theory and say: The reason why we see the sacred realm/trial of the sword/ silent realm infested with enemies, is because Demise’s spirit is still in the master sword from being sealed in it in Skyward Sword, and the trial can very well be freeing Fi and the Sacred Realm from Demise’s infestation on the sacred realm! This could also very well be why we here Fi speak to the Hero once you complete the trials, because she’s most likely reminiscing with the Hero Link, and thanking him for his bravery, for driving away the Malice that infested the Sacred Realm, and the Master Sword...

This is interesting, I like how you think. I just wonder if we're all worrying too much about a literal place that exists when it's a realm that exists outside the dimension of this one. It could be in Link, it could be in the sword, it could be in the dream of a dragon. Does it matter really? It would make more sense to me that it's Link overcoming himself more than anything. That at least has the most satisfying design in my eyes. I mean that's no reason the master sword shouldn't be a t full power unless the hero who weirds it doesn't quite have that bond with it, or rather isn't in harmony with himself. Even his trials in the Ballad were essentially within his mind.
I guess my point is the sacred realm could be anywhere and every realm outside of carnal existence doesn't have to be the same. But I like your idea the best if I'm wrong about that fact.

...but also, Tien was known for his 'Split Form' technique, which allowed him to fight as Four people; Link pulled the FourSword, which let him do the same thing...
Tien's robes were 'Hero Tunic Green' most of the time...
oh, and his little companion Chaotzu could be the Navi/Tatl/Midna/Fi counterpart...

I always thought that the Trial of the Sword was in the Master Sword or even weirder, Fi's mind. I know that sounds crazy, but the fact that you hear Fi's very distinct sound when you pull the final powered up Master Sword from it's pedestal with the monks makes me think that it could be connected to it.
I know that it might just be a coincidence that the Hero of the Wild can hear her voice after the power up, but you can beat the game with all the memories and not go through the Trial and still have Zelda hear the voice so it's not like Fi was "sealed away" during it. Perhaps the Trial of the Sword is not only to unlock the Master Swords power, but also for the Hero of the Wild's ability to hear Fi? Could be something for BOTW2. :)

yknow, most of this video (to me, at least) is in that 'grey area' of theories, where "yeah, this makes sense, and theres nothing in the games saying its NOT true", because its all being held together loosely enough to allow the wiggle-room that good theories need...but the part that has me tripping the most balls is the Seven Monks mimicking the hand-signs of the "Six +1" Sages (with Zelda herself fitting into that 7th slot)...no wonder Nintendo took their sweet time making this game-- it needed all the time it could to marinate in the creative juices, to soak in every speck of seasoning thrown into it...if the other games only had bits of yarn tying two parts together, BotW was a massive golden spike driven through each and every one of them...from LonLon Ranch Ruins to Mabe Village, BotW has a reference to just about every other Zelda game (minus perhaps the CD-i games, unless im forgetting a 'Gamelon River' or a 'Tolemac Ridge' or something)...i love how i can still find new tidbits of trivia, or an extra easter egg, in a game that ive owned for almost Two Years now (got my Switch for Christmas'17; beat Ganon about a week into January'18 xD)...

Another similarity: the sound. When you're in the silent realm in SS theres only the silent music, which, again, represents the silence really well, until the timer runs out and the guardians attack you. And in the Master trials in BotW there's no music, until enemies spot or approach you, then the standard fighting theme starts again.

Which part? The number of monks and hand symbols are true... But that's kind of where it stops. There are countless references or abstractions of previous games, I'm not sure what it proves. I mean it's awesome don't get me wrong, I just don't see how the conclusion can then be drawn past that. I mean we can speculate, but that's not even a theory, it's a thought based on similarities to something else. Not evidence of anything. The sacred realm is so non descript anyway that I guess you could make the claim that you're in it a bunch of different times. I just don't see the significance. And I'm not tying to disagree, I'm trying to rationalize this idea more cause I like it.

I've thought about this before, my interpretation is that all of this is happening in Link's head. It doesn't make sense for the Shiekah Monks to be able to power up the Master Sword, so when Link gets that first message to return to the Korok Forest from the Sword Monk, it's really the Master Sword/Fi telling it's wielder that undergoing a trial will lead to more power, and since all of Link's trials and challenges have been the creation of Shiekah Monks, his mind envisions this mind trial as one from a monk. When he places the sword in the pedestal and teleports away, he's actually just holding the Master Sword at the pedestal just like in Ocarina of Time, but believes that he's teleporting as he's done countless times thus far. I'm not sure if he returns in an instant or in a few hours. All of the trial is "illusory" and based off of his memories, which explains why there aren't any foreign enemies, weapons, or environments. All of this is a giant mindfuck by the Master Sword, and it just looks this way for this Link. Another Link with different experiences may see it differently. It also explains why the trial's creator is Sword Monk and not Ak'a Hais Toh or something-Link just isn't very creative.

That's the thing - once we leave corporeal existence anything can be anything. That's why I don't see the point in connected the sacred realm to this or anything else that isn't stated. I just seems to me like Link is fightng his internalized monsters. That's the only real way to become one with the sword. That has as much grounding as any other theory, which is to say none. I see so many posts of people who are upset or hoping to see a return of past characters in the sequel. I think this game was a return to form, like the OG legend of Zelda, where exploration was key and silly arguments over a timeline (which was never part of the series outside of fan service) can move aside for more interesting concepts.

In a previous video you mentioned that Link takes on an archetypal role of healer upon a diseased land. That kicking around in my head while watching this made me wonder if Link isn't only a healer, but a shaman? A shaman, in traditional cultures where it's still practiced, is a healer, a spiritual leader of sorts, a sorcerer, and was also at one point in history, a warrior who fought in the name of the god(s) who singled them out alongside the warriors of his community unit. Link seems to fulfill most if not all of these roles in every Zelda game I've played (no, I haven't played them all). He even walks between worlds like shamans do (Silent Realm, Sacred Realm, going back and forth through time, using timeshift stones, etc), though he's not a politician so you won't see him on a throne. He's a helper, relationship advisor, repairman, sorcerer and priest to a lesser extent, and is consistently chosen by the Goddess Hylia or her female descendants each time he is reincarnated during a time of need. Various occult sources informed by much older indigenous cultures also say that a family's blood curses and blood gifts are passed down through the females, while spirit-curses and spirit-gifts are passed through the males and almost never stay within the same bloodline unless the male whose spirit carries them is reincarnated into that same bloodline. Also, in these cultures, a woman can't become a shaman until she's entered into menopause, typically after a lifetime of training from the elder-women of the community (and after she's had the several kids expected of her by the community as well). Having studied these things out of interest over the years, it informs my views and opinions of the Zelda series as a whole as well as each individual game (that I've played, anyways). It also has me wondering about the cosmology of the Zelda universe as well as the entire pantheon of gods and their cthonic history as well: where did the three goddesses come from and who/what sired them? Was Demise's initial role to be something similar to Typhon, Apep, or Tezcatlipoca and the gods decided to dick around with mortal lives who ended up screwing things up? Oops, my brain and hands ran away with me again. Back on track: I feel that Link is something of a shaman, the god who chose him is Hylia, and the sacred item he uses to do his work and travel between worlds is the Master Sword. :-) I really did try to shorten this comment...

I have a theory about the Sacred Realm and why it looks the way it does.
The Sacred Realm is a parallel world connected to Hyrule and it changes to reflect the heart of the one who touches the Triforce.
The Sacred Realm is described as 'the Golden Land' in ALttP and in the art work shows many floating masses of land and the Book of Mudora says it's "a realm beyond sight, The sky shines gold, not blue."
The Sacred Realm looks the way it does in pre ALttP (before Ganon corrupted it) because the Goddess Chosen Hero (SS Link) was the last person to touch it, and the 'Golden Land' is the shape the Sacred Realm took as a reflection of that Link. SS Link came from The Sky which had may floating islands and bright skies.
We see the Sacred Realm again at the end of ALBW and it has the appearance of a normal land, blue skies, and high in the mountains. This is likely due to the fact that the Legendary Hero (ALttP Link) was the last to touch the Triforce at the end of ALttP and the Sacred Realm changed from the Dark World to this new mountain range.
Side note: We see the Hero of Hyrule hold the complete Triforce at the end of Zelda 2, but we never see the Sacred Realm that far into the timeline.
Same with ALBW Link and Zelda.
The Dark World appearance is a corrupt copy of Hyrule that was meant to serve Ganon's wish to be the ruler of the world. The Realm is a reflection of Ganon's heart as a twisted world with evil monsters and dark skies. This change happened in Ocarina of Time when Ganondorf touched the Triforce.
This part is a bit of speculation:
Before the Sacred Realm had the look of the Golden Land, it was in the form of the Silent Realm (as seen in SS) because it was reflecting Hylia's nature as the guardian of the Triforce, as she was presumably the last person to enter it, as well as the last person to touch the Triforce.
So timeline wise, the Sacred Realm had changed to fit the hearts of
    Hylia (Silent Realm)
    SS Link (Golden Land)
    Ganondorf (Dark World)
    ALttP Link (Mountain Realm)
    ALBW Link and Zelda.
    AoL Link
Various Kings of Hyrule have also held the Triforce, include the King seen in the manual of AoL and King Daphnes Hyrule of WW so we can assume the Sacred Realm has transformed thoes time's as well.

That is because it doesn't go too far out of the way to make absolute stories the focal point. By design they set up a balance with the concept of the tri-force and the ones that embody it. This is why I think the series works much better with this sort of minimalistic approach to story telling and focuses on detailed worlds instead of explaining outright that the sacred realm and the silent realm are the same "place", even though they're non-corporeal ideas to begin with. I totally agree with you, I only wish others appreciated this concept more.

@@Fanatic_Foremem That's what I said, right? I'm not saying things are inconsistent, I'm saying the universe was created in such a way to facilitate different ideas. I just mean if TP didn't exist, would it change anything in the overarching universe? No. And that's cool, it means ideas can be explored. The creators have stated they were just trying to make interesting games with fun new concepts. They were never concerned with a timeline or details that had to carry over perfectly into the other games. At least not in some absolute form. I also really don't like the exposition in those games. But I'm glad other people can enjoy it. I just like the approach they took with BOTW, where the details are there to find but not spelled out like a bad anime. Like, so many of these "theories" are just pedantic ideas that people reach pretty far in order to make some literal connection.
But regardless of my personal taste, yes I agree with you, I think Zelda does a good job at staying consistent, even when individual game plots can go in a pretty drastic direction sometimes.

    A cool possible theory:
Before Link, the Zonai may have held the triforce of courage, the same way the gerudo hold the triforce of power (Ganon) and the sheikah tribe holds the triforce of wisdom (Zelda -> Sheik).
They are said to be a magic wielding tribe that disappeared. They probably gave up their physical forms to restrain Ganon as seen in the BOTW 2 trailer, the blue-green hand holding him down. Due to the connection between the triforce of courage and the zonai, link is influenced by this magic. He is also seen in the tapestry with a green-blue arm.
