If this was May 24 last week, then this was a Friday night. This storm is the perfect sleeping pill, midnight, with heavy rain. I picture this as having been a mainly sunny, hot day, then, by sunset, thunder heads start appearing in the west, and then develop into healthy thunderstorms, which begin releasing heavy rain as people are turning in for the night. Thus sunny hot day evolves into a stormy night, with heavy overnight rains, along with thunder and lightning, and begin to clear out by sunrise the next day. This would result in multiple inches of rain. This would be ideal, especially in a drought, where rain us desperately needed. A Friday night would also be perfect, as most people would not have to get up for work or school the next day.
Man I’m just waiting for these type of lightning storms :(
