    A new Crbn every 4 months? That's $621 a year. I guess, if you got the cash to burn. My paddles usually last around 6 months. Mileage and wear and tear depends on how often and how you play.

    So these power paddles are still legit to use? After they banned Joola 3 , is it still okey to play using these powerfull paddles on tournaments?

      Oh yeah all of the CRBN paddles are totally fine and good to go!

    Great video. Curious how you’d compare this to the 3x? I called CRBN and the guy said 7 out of their 11 employees have switched to the 3x over the 1x. I typically enjoy the longer handle, but the CRBN employee basically said the 3x is the 1x with a bigger sweet spot and more control.

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  9 місяців тому +2

      I do have a 3x video coming but I prefer the 3x over the 1x. The power on drives for the 1x is pretty amazing. But the sweet spot and the overall play of the 3x is just better with not much of a drop off on power. It’s the better paddle in my opinion 😊 and you can still use code STSPICKLEBALL if you snag one 😊

    • @stspickleball

      1X has more power but I like the 3X better. Bigger sweet spot, and still solid power and great spin.

    • @stspickleball

      14mm spin results are in the video! It has less power, more pop, slightly smaller sweet spot, and a bit more spin 😊 also a bit lighter for faster hand speed!!

    If you know that your 006 was a manufactured blunder, I would remove it from this review. I’m seeing a trend from your metrics that do not measure up to other reviewers and my personal experience with the 006

      Mainly it’s about spreading the info that it has manufacturing defects and people should know that before taking a chance on a $333 paddle. It’s about spreading quality transparent information and not hiding things. PB Studio also received a defective one and shared that as well.

    • @mrfofung
      @mrfofung 9 місяців тому +1

      @@stspickleball I can understand that. I would be upset if I spent $333 and my paddle was out of spec. Personally, I would asterisk the results, but to each their own. Either way, thanks for the review.

    I was a bit surprised to see a separate 1X review as the Filth was previously reviewed and they are fairly similar. Its a testament to CRBN's popularity even at a $200+ price. I would love to see deep dive vid on the top >$200 paddles vs the top

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  9 місяців тому

      Yes there is definitely a point of deminishing returns and it starts basically at anything higher than a Six Zero paddles price 😂 they just do an incredible job. The new Ruby I’m taking my time with but it’s the highest spinning paddle I’ve tested yet.. really crazy performance. Yeah the pop on the engage paddles are solid for sure. Always curious how people respond to my reviews. Do you like the rating system? I’m here for you guys not for me so I just want to be the best paddle reviewer out there and help people in the pickleball space navigate paddles easily. I really like your ideas for videos! I’ll have to do those!

    Steven, love your reviews! You really need to review the 3X, as the 1X is already old tech. 🤣
    I love my 3X which is really a more highly evolved version of the 1X. I think the comment that 7/11 CRBN staff switched to the 3X says it all. Thank you and keep up the great work!

    How do you feel about the control of the CRBN 1 paddle?

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  7 місяців тому

      Control is pretty low on the CRBN 1x. Do you mean the 1x or the 1? The control is better on the CRBN 1 non thermoformed version in comparison to the CRBN 1x which is thermoformed and has more power and pop. If you’re looking for more control I’d go with the 3x which has a good blend of everything and a larger sweet spot, or the CRBN 2x which is their control oriented paddle 😊

      @@stspickleball Also 12mm CRBN and Engage Pursuit Pro. BTW, have you ever thought about deflection testing or a test dropping/firing a ball into paddle at certain speeds representing different pickleball shots to test "coefficient of restitution"? This could also create very accurate sweet spot data by hitting paddle in different locations and recording data. There are rumors of USAPA working on things like this

      Viva pro gen 2 is going to have more power but the CRBN 1x will have a bit more pop especially if you go with the 14mm. Even the 16mm has a bit more pop than the Viva Pro Gen 2.

    I’m torn between the CRBN 1X / 3X, Diadem 18k Edge Power Pro, and the Engage Pursuit MX 6.0.
    I ordered all 3 and have been able to play with all of them a little bit, but not enough to formalize an official opinion yet. I expected to like the CRBN or Engage the best, but have actually probably been favoriting the 18k edge so far. Hoping to get out for a long drill session soon (versus open play) so that I can really dial in what I like best.
    Have you played with 18k power pro or the engage pursuit mx 6.0?

    • @stspickleball
      @stspickleball  9 місяців тому +1

      Yes I’ve played with all of them! What would you say you are looking to prioritize with a new paddle. What do you value most in your game? Spin? Drops? Hand battles? Control?

    • @taylorbaker5690
      @taylorbaker5690 9 місяців тому +1

      @@stspickleball so hard to say. My first ever paddle was the Ballr Pro per your recommendation (came across your video when I first started) and always use STSPickleball code lol. I’ve been playing a ton since staring in July and have been improving a lot (former high school tennis player). I’ve been doing some ladder leagues and plan to start tournaments next year. 4.0 on dupr. Until recently, I would have said I prioritize drops and resets (so I assumed I wanted a control paddle) but as I’ve gotten better and started playing at higher levels, I’m really appreciating the extra power for deep serves and returns, and the extra pop at the net for putting the ball away on speed ups and hand battles. Not ready to say I’m all in on wanting a power paddle though. Guess I’m looking for an all court paddle at this point.
      I’ve been liking all 3 of the paddles above. Picking a favorite has been much more challenging than I anticipated. Really makes me respect your videos even more when it comes to distinguishing between paddles and being able to articulate the differences in a clear way.
      What do you prioritize in your game? And as a result what would be your favorite paddle of these?

      My dad is in town I’m going to get it uploaded soon. I’m kinda torn right now between the Ruby and the Mach 2 Forza I love both of them so much. Ruby grips the ball like crazy. What are your thoughts I’d love to hear.

    • @zmaust15
      @zmaust15 9 місяців тому +1

      Same thing with the Forza. I just cant seem to stray from it. I picked up the black diamond over the holiday as well. Probably going to try it after a tournament coming up. Sticking with the ruby for now though. So far I think the Ruby has been very beneficial on recovery shots. Like you said the grip on the Ruby is crazy. Ive noticed I can roll the ball a lot tighter. I still feel the Forza still has more power and pop. The Ruby's pop is good as well. I think the Ruby is better at dropping and mid court drives. The top spin is crazy with how gritty it is. Ive had two friends that have the Ruby as well. Both of theres was grippier on one side. One sold it and the other still has it. I didnt have that problem. The grit on the Ruby and Black Diamond are very similar feeling. They have the same peel ply face but the Ruby still feels slightly grittier. Also ive noticed the Ruby stays grittier feeling if you clean off the face between sessions. All in all I think its a great paddle and I think Six Zero hit the mark with making an all court paddle. I will definitely be keeping it in my rotation for sure. I would recommend it. Solid top 5 paddle. @@stspickleball

      I had my first one for like 7 months and noticed just a small decrease but the face on the new one seems much more gritty and has a lot better spin.
