- For the first time in 7 years, My Chemical Romance's frontman Gerard Way performs "Skylines and Turnstiles", a song written in 2001 after witnessing the terrorist attacks firsthand and inspiring him to create the band.
On the ten year anniversary of that tragedy, Gerard dedicates the song to hope and inspiration, and performs acoustic with piano.
I think that most MCR songs slowed down can be as beautiful as this because MCR always put passion into their lyrics, the words always meant something and helped so many people.
"You're not in this alone" So much emotions in these words.
tovlasek that line is my favorite from all the MCR discography. It always gets me. I think of it as to give me strength since I was a child and I was suffering from bullying and all. That single line right there “You’re not in this alone”
It's been 15 years. Never forget 09/11/01. That's all there is to be said.

Oh my to this day this still gives me chils. I was here. And when he announced the song, I dont think i've ever been so excited in my life. I screamed sooo loud. I about cried the whole time. Especiallly looking around and seeing everyone in the whole place with their phones. lighters. whatever sticking up in the air. It was the best feeling in the entire world. I'd give anything to be back there again, forever. Such a powerful song. Beautiful.
My Chemical Romance will never die, because it's not a band, it's an idea.
This is one of those songs that can make you cry about something you didn't witness first had, something that you can't even remember happening, more than simply hearing about it or even watching footage.
This is so powerful. It's beautiful. There are no words to describe the perfection of this song.
One year ago, I was in the lawn when this happened. When Gerard said "And this is the first song we ever wrote" I burst into tears. The lawn was lit up with lighters and everyone was singing. It was the most beautiful thing and I will never forget it. In Memory of all the lives effected and lost. Lots of love to you.

I was there that night. This was probably one lf the most beautiful, heartwrenching, and inspiring moments I have ever experienced.

I can't even begin to explain how much this song, how much this entire band, means to me. Every time I listen to this song, and I think back to the day that inspired it, I get so overwhelmed with emotion. Music is a very powerful thing, and this is one of the many times that My Chemical Romance has proved that to me.
The Bullets album was amazing, I'd love to see them perform the whole thing, then again the two times I did see them the did play a couple of songs of Bullets.

I just cried so much. This band are so inspirational. The song has always been powerful and meaningul but the way they've reworked it is beautiful. thank you so much. Part of the reason i got into MCR is because of this song. It means a lot to me and many others that everyone in the MCRmy and all the Killjoys can stand together and remember. I am glad to consider myself a part of this group.
This is beautiful in so many ways. I love this band so much, and everyday i realize how much they mean to me and how big of an influence they are on my life. I seriously don't know what and where i would be without them. They didn't safe my life, but they changed it in so many positive ways. This amazing performance makes me cry

My Chemical Romance is my favorite band! I was lucky enough to be at the DTE that night to hear this song played! I was singing along to every word (trying to keep up with the tempo) and everyone around me had no clue what song this was!

My breathing got heavier, I got goose bumps, my eyes went all watery... THIS IS BEAUTIFUL! Gerard got so into it... and when he said "This broken city sky.." a tear almost rolls down my cheek. Thank you so very much for recording this.

i cannot explaine how much it means to me that they played that. seriously. 9-11 means that i didn't have a dad for most of this year, and wont have a dad on christmas, new years, or thanksgiving because he's in iraq flying in helicopters. this is one of the most meaningful songs i will ever hear.
