I kept them for over 15 yrs Odontodactylus Scyllarus, Odontodactylus Japonicus, the thumbsplitter reputation is not from the impact of thier claws it's the switchblade they have folded which is part of thier club they flick it out on soft targets slice it open it folds back reverse and fits into a groove in the club . The ones I had were never aggressive to me they ate out of my hand highly intelligent , played in my hand nothing but gentle. The aggression is from people fucking with them to make them strike. That's a very young one the ones I kept reached about 10 inches as adults thier strike is much more powerful as a adult but never split the glass tank they would tap it to get my attention . But crabs, mollusks they'd bust up, fish they would flick that blade out puncture the swim bladder and heart like surgeons. But aggressive behaviour toward me or my hands not one time ever. That little one you've got try the test tube again when it's full grown. But the tank glass no . Heres Medusa the last female I had. ua-cam.com/video/ppWm1-34TLM/v-deo.html
I find it a little strange that you just returned the crab after it got it’s hand punched off, if you weren’t expecting it to be food for the mantis shrimp, then that’s just watching animals get hurt for the pure sake of animals getting hurt, not to feed anything
@@fishwithtonymustache not to be a hater but why would you buy an aquarium brittle star to feed it to Chuck? Isn't that one supposed to be a pet? It's not a feeder is It?
Tony: awww there just playing
Crab: THIS IS SPARTAAA
Mantis shrimp are basically living aquatic bullets
Very true

Wouldn't he be the gun? I know they can shoot little bubbles out that are deadly.
Pistol Shrimp : am I a joke to you?
Fun fact: mantis shrimp CAN break glass, but it takes a few hits, maybe more.
Chuck Norris is SO OLD... when his Texas Ranger show ended he asked if he could keep the Walker
Ohhhhhhh aren't you sooOooOoOOO funny

I like to see them hunt, but i always hope for a quick death. This one was was not going to be quick, and I didn't want to see that.
He wanted him as a companion, not to be eaten and Crabs can regrow their claws so that crab was fine if someone else took it as a pet.
RIP Chuck Norris
How long did Chuck live before he went to see Bruce?
4 months unfortunately
Noticr he left Starfish alone
how thick is a testtube?
Maybe I missed it...is there a reason Chuck kicked the bucket? Did Spaghetti ninja murk him in the night? Or is it just a mystery...
Probably a parasite or something. I don't like the way he was just flailing like crazy at the end there. Cleary something was wrong plus not eating.
0:40 This is a lie. Mantis shrimps are capable of breaking glass. The punch he gives at 0:35 is more akin to a curious poke
Here before this blows up
My man was really buying fish from pet stores that could have lived happy lives but decided to have them killed for clout.
Chuck punches tomorrow, today
What a great animal
Does chuck ever get friendly with you?
Never. I'm scared of him
mantis shrimp can break glass
What store was that???
A special one

@@fishwithtonymustache They really that vulnerable when molting?

They actually can punch through glass. I always have to be careful
