    Hi, last night we got hit with 2+ feet of snow here in Boston so I'll try a time lapse VIDEO of us cleaning our long driveway. Because snow is so bright here are some of the settings I was thinking of modifying - we have both a GoPro 8 and 10.
    Please let me know if I should tweak any of these:
    ISO min and max: both at 100
    White balance: 5000
    Sharpness: high
    Color: flat
    THANKS!

      First of all, that is a lot of snow. Those settings sound good for a daytime time lapse with snow. You may also want to bump the EV comp down to -0.5 for a bit better detail in the highlights.

    Hey I have 2 night lapse files I'd like to edit but on my phone and not on a laptop, is it possible? I was having trouble finding the editing tools u have on light room on your computer and couldn't find the same on my phone, any other alternatives? I found gopro won't allow u to edit or even upload burst shots/night lapse

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  3 роки тому

      Great question. I have found that editing night lapses comprised of photos is only possible on a computer. Video time lapses I have been able to edit using the app from GoPro. If you have Lightroom and don’t see the options i had in the right make sure you’re under the Develop heading and that the available options are maximized.

    • @GreatDayForAHike

    Hi,
    I have a problem and you may can help me solve this. So, I was following technique 3 and when I import the already edited raw photos into Premier Pro, I do the exactly the same thing as you did set the sequence etc. I selected the very first photo of my timalapse and I also thicked the Image sequence box and opend but for some reason it only shows that first photo. Does not made it as a video with all the images.
    Also if I click properties there's no frame rate and total duration. It's like it is only one photo.
    Do you have any idea what could go wrong?
    Many thanks

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  3 роки тому

      I have seen this happen before. Usually it happens when the photo file name numbering is not sequential in which case Premiere Pro will not pick up on the next photos and will only grab the one.
      Example: If a photo is named 1999.jpg and then the next file name is 2000.jpg. Premiere won’t grab the next file when the naming convention changes that much. In those cases I have to do the import on the first image batch up to where the naming changed (ex: 2000.jpg). I then import the second batch starting with the file where the name changed and then place those time lapse batches next to each other on my timeline.

  • @bengottschalk403
    @bengottschalk403 3 роки тому +1

    Did the Lightroom to premiere pro photo setting towards the end of the video @40:28 when I am importing though I click the first image and click image sequence but when I drag and drop and render the file in premier pro it is not all of the photos I took it’s just that first photo still. Any ideas on how to fix this?

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  3 роки тому

      Are the file names in sequential order (such as 001,002,003 as an example)? If the files aren’t that could cause this problem. Premiere Pro needs them to be sequential. Also, if there is a skip in the number such as 9,999 to 10,000 Premiere Pro won’t detect that and will stop at the 9,999 and you then have to do a second import for the second half of the time lapse starting at 10,000.

    Hey, so I have a GoPro hero10 and I was wondering if I put my settings on tripod mode to save battery during time lapse video affect the quality at all. Stupid question, but I'm just curious. Or should I just leave it on maximum video performance?!

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  Рік тому +1

      I would recommend leaving it on maximum video performance so that you can get the highest possible bitrate and resolution from the camera. I use an external power bank when doing time lapses to power the GoPro. It doesn’t have to be a high cost one to get the job done. I did a recent video on the Pixy Mini and that one is low cost, small, and will provide about the equivalent of three GoPro batteries in power.

    • @AdventuresofAwesomeJoe
      @AdventuresofAwesomeJoe 2 роки тому

      It's so weird. I'm looking at SD card properties, it shows only 2.6 gb data was used

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  2 роки тому

      I use either a 256GB or 512GB MicroSD card. A 128GB card should also be sufficient provided it is empty enough.

    • @GreatDayForAHike
      @GreatDayForAHike  2 роки тому

      This could mean your MicroSD card needs to be formatted in your GoPro if it isn’t already (make sure you backup anything off it first as formatting will erase it).
      If it still says it is full when it isn’t then there could be a hardware problem with your MicroSD card or the card may not be genuine.

Also with the sequential numbering is there something that ends in 999 and then goes to 000 for the end of the next photo name such as 999 to 1000 or skipping to 1001? If so, I’ve seen Premiere Pro and other video editing software sometimes not read this properly for importing.
