Such a wonderful collection to catch a glimpse of days gone by! Limerick Milk Market where folks from all walks of life mingled to get fresh produce every Saturday (Wed too, but not as many folks came) e.g. Mary the flower lady, Paddy the spud man, and the eggs by the entrance etc. The turkeys getting plucked at Christmastime.... The captures of folks with deep etched/lined faces showing such hardships that we will never be able to even imagine. I remember so many of these faces from being the daughter of a pub owner near the market. All the country folks would stop in for a cup of tea and a sandwich, a pint, or just to use our loo...Ah the good old days. What faboulous faces! Great video. Thanks for sharing Gerry Andrews!
A truly outstanding collection of images. I’ve never tired of seeing them over the years - a unique social documentary body of work from a master of his art.
Among the dead - Jesus I can recall the gritty grime of abandoned lifeless life and hollowed out souls ,while looking at scratching on a wall saying someone by the name of hitler was right. My Auschwitz
A bar of soap I never saw it was a luxury item The lack of soap actually made them rebel against Their colonial masters Turned out nice in the end The faces showed their grit❤❤❤
A fantastic archive of what I remember when a child and turning teenager👍
Beautiful, how hard life really was compared to now. Thanks for sharing
