It’s the more proximate to life conclusion than the usual House episode. Even following the shows worldview. It’s a meaningless and random place with vague attempts at structure and order. People die for nothing. There’s no purpose. Be freed by that or consumed in it.
It showed more than any other incident that House really does care about people, which is the opposite of the nihilism that he affected for most of the series.@@JamesVanDeWaal
I stand by that this would've been the perfect finale. House's conversation with Foreman is the perfect summation of his character. That's why he doesn't ever get close, it DOES hurt him when this happens. Deeply.
I feel the same way, that the show should have ended here. House reveals he actually does care about people and he also gets a chance at happiness after six seasons of misery and loneliness that felt like needless torture after awhile. But now, that could end. Will he be able to change, or not? Leave it as an open question. Season 7 could have worked too if they'd actually allowed House to grow and change as a person AND given Lisa Edestein the money she wanted. Instead, executive meddling meant the writers forced an ending to their relationship and House goes right back to where he was, and briefly much worse, when he turns into a potential _murderer_ by crashing his car into her house. What the hell? The show should have ended no later than Season 7 with House and Cuddy together and happy instead of all the insane drama. But Season 6 - also the right time. So many shows just do not know when to end. The network wants to squeeze all the $$$ it can out of a show, which is what Season 8 was, a cash grab. That's why streaming and limited series of two or three seasons works so well. That's what people want now, a complete story, characters arcs planned from the beginning etc.
And it shows again in season 7, the episode prior to the one when she breaks up with him - when he's drunk at the bar and Wilson finds him thinking about the patients he lost.
The soundtrack to the pure silence for the two actors to finally come true about their feelings, as much as I love the series finale, this could have been an excellent finale as well
This episode really should have been the series finale. The acting and writing was never better than this, the personal situation never more intense. This would have been going out at the zenith.
House M.D. is the best series I hv seen in my life. And the episode ' help me" brings tears in your eyes. Hats off to Gregory house and other countries stars.
the mirror scene is my favorite out of the entire show. the way he hesitates before pulling it off then sees her face and decides he can't handle it. just wish there was a higher quality upload.
at the point where he breaks the mirror i was frozen in terror... as soon as I saw the Vicadin... I got so fucking angry i paused the damn show and threw my headphones away. had to take a step back and a breath of fresh air never have I felt a moment like this from a TV show before
This is how House should have ended. Perfect ending and perfect character's development from being a jerk in 1 to 4 season, being assaulted by guilt feelings because of Amber and Kutner death in season 5 and finally being a normal and a lovely man in season 6 because of Cuddy. Season 7 and 8 are so pointless.
This finale's ending is corny, gives very little resolution and kinda shits all over the whole season, anyway The whole season kinda tries to give the message that happiness isn't something that will just happen because you did things right, a harsher but more truth to life lesson. Then the whole thing is thrown away by having Cuddy magically fix House's life by just being there, despite the six seasons telling you why they really don't work as a couple, despite them loving each other
No... You're wrong. The shows finale was amazing. It was the way his relationship with Cuddy ended, that was botched. Unfortunately, the actress wanted more money, and she may have started another project. Either way, this show is a masterpiece
@@RR-lv3tpit's not "unfortunately, the actress wanted more money", it's "unfortunately, the network was unwilling to pay to keep one of the most fundamental characters in the show."

That scene with Foreman still blows me away.
its because he knows House might commit suicide, he is depressed, angry and alone, its like left a kid with a gun alone.
