With nearly two million people of Indian descent living in the UK, we have an exclusive survey commissioned by the Platform for Indian Democracy which for the first time tests how Indians here feel about politics in India.

If muslims in India don't like it they can go to Pakistan or Bangladesh - they wanted partition and their own homeland, so go and live there.

CAA logic was so badly researched or deliberately misleading as CAA or citizenship is for persecuted minorities in Afghanistan, Pakistan n Bangladesh and hence the Muslim majority in those 3 Islamic countries are excluded. The old citizenship access is still available to all irrespective of religion. Also, the CAA should be seen with the lens of India’s history where the nation was divided into 3 parts based on religion. Pakistan became an Islamic state while India chose to be secular! The minorities in that region are being persecuted n hence they are offered citizenship!

When were Muslims of India denied a chance to exercise their right to vote? You're so deluded. On the contrary, the argument OP is making is that the Hindus of India as a majority in a democracy have a right to also vote and determine the future of the country in any way they so choose, just like Muslims. That right should not be stripped from Hindus just so Muslims will benefit, even if Hindus collectively choose to (for example) officially make India a Hindu country. Muslims do not disproportionately contribute to India economically in a positive way either, but do represent a larger percentage of convicted criminals in jails compared to their population percentage. As a liberal from India and a staunch supporter of the Chief Minister of Manipur, I am happy to have a leader like Prime Minister Modi. Nobody's perfect but he's a charismatic statesman who has steered my country towards unprecedented progress, uplifting masses from poverty and connecting villages with digital highways. In my state, I haven't met anyone without a toilet and basic services like WiFi are really cheap. Believe it or not, OPD services in Government hospitals starts at 10 rupees (0.098£) and admission with 3 basic meals/day requires only 50 Rupees(0.49£). Doing this for a growing population of 1.4 Billion is no easy task. I encourage my fellow citizens to cast their vote to the BJP.

I grew up in India and then abroad. When I was in school in India, we had to pledge everyday that all Indians are our brothers and sisters. I never really did see faith or caste or still don't know that of my friends, teachers etc and still believe in that. I'm from the south of India and we are pretty well educated which is probably why we haven't fully bought into all this yet, but we eventually will I imagine. And in the west, you do for all its faults, see a government that is debated on freely. For better or worse, people prefer a more majority based government and it has its benefits but also drawbacks. Hinduism is a good religion and it is in the fabric of India, but it was never forced on anyone before and that's how I value it and I think that's the spirit of it, to be kind to others.
Anyways, I can't say too much as opinions have costs these days in India unless it's asking people to go to Pakistan. It's sad actually cause our ancestors fought together against colonialism so hard and now we fight amongst each other.
